Just finished this one the other week. A very enjoyable read, and insightful for someone not as well versed in the history of the club like myself. If I could ask my own question, does anyone have any other Newcastle related books to suggest? Surely something has been written about the 95/96 season.

Yeah. I've never been a massive fan of the Metrostars/Red Bulls, But I try to keep up with what's going on with the team.

actually, as a RB's fan, i don't mind the strips so much. its pretty much just like having redbull as a super sponser. but seeing as how NORAD (north american aerospace defense command) is in colorado, i wouldnt mind seeing 'colorado nuclear arsenal' (pauses for laughs) [insert smiley which used to be on the old board which depicted an akward exit] The logo is... man. I can't even put it into words. It looks as if it was ironed on a T-shirt. If you're trying to grow a league, you would think the team in the biggest market in the nation would get something better than that. Honestly, I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old Metrostars look. Will Arsenal loan players to Colorado, or is this just another Chelsea/LA kind of thing?

If you already feel a connnection to the team, you're probably already a fan. Watch a few games, if you scream at the TV as if Ramage can hear you, go buy a shirt. I was in the same situation when I was looking for a team to support. Since I'm in he US, I feel no local connection to any of the teams. The first full match I ever watched was Liverpool v AC Milan. I was "this" close to becoming a fan of Liverpool until I realized how big a deal winning the Champions League was. I didn't want to jump on a bandwagon, so I waited for the next season to decide. Watching teams the next season, I was only certain of a few things: Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal were not options. I figured if I was ever going to be a true fan, I would have to support the worst team I saw. At the time, thanks to Souness and Boumsong, that was Newcastle. A few weeks later, when N'zogbia hit a free kick to break a goalless streak, I didn't even realize that I had jumped out of my chair in delight. Ever since then, I've been in for the duration.

Not certain about reality, but I know Tuncay is a monster in FM and Pro Evo. I honestly feel as if I am capable of being a scout for NUFC now.

Solono is easily MOM in my eyes. Martins was invisible, but he had the entire Man U defense marking him. Missed the first 20 minutes, but Dyer seemed invisible to me. Edgar was great, didn't notice one mistake from him. Far cry from Bramble and Ramage. Milner deserved his goal. I hope he chooses to shoot more often than cross. Solano for Captain.

I think I'd be willing to buy this as well. It's nice to see the history of a club from the perspective of a fan. I've only been aware of the club for less than 2 years and I need to know more about where the club has been. I'm enjoying this so far.
