  1. Right. Are you telling me the day he walked was his first opportunity to walk? No, I'm telling you that it was probably a culmination of various things that have happened over the past couple of months, which reached a head on deadline day when we didn't get the LB, RB, RW, and AM that we desperately need to do better than last year, having lost a good RW. September means transfer window is shut, surely as a debt of gratitude he could have held his tongue and took us through to January? Why did HE kneejerk and leave? I don't believe it was kneejerk, I believe he left for the reasons above, i.e. a culmination of various things. Face it "The messiah" dropped us in the s****. Long term, we could be deeper in the s*** if he stayed. He may have left us troubled for a few weeks, but I believe in the long term, KK will have done the best for the club. That piss poor transfer window and s**** backroom staff got us 4 points from Man utd and Bolton FFS, he put himself first when we had put him first so many many times before just accept it. Just accept what. Whose to say he hasn't done what he believes is right for the club (i.e. something so drastic as resigning to show the fans how poorly we are being run) If Keegan was to resign to show us how poorly the club was being run I would blame him for the mess. "I know what to do, I will resign to make this situation a whole lot worse and cause uproar, that will show the fans how much I care about them". We need to forget KK and move on.
  2. Keegan came in with two weeks left in the January transfer window. He didn't make his first signing until the 7th March with Lamine Diatta coming in after a trial period. Wise, Vetere and Jiminez had all been appointed by this time and Keegan knew that the club were looking at the structure when he agreed his contract. During the Summer transfer window we signed Danny Guthrie, Jonas Gutierrez, Fabricio Collocini, Sebastian Bassong (after a trial period), Ignacio Gonzalez and Xisco. Now it is possible something could have happened on deadline day, e.g. Newcastle trying to sell Joey Barton who Keegan stood up for after the Arsenal game, but we may never find out. Although I have some blame for Keegan, the situation hasn't been helped by Llambias, Ashley and Wise.
  3. So Keegan returns on the 16th of January with Wise, Vetere and Jiminez appointed on the 29th January. Keegan was aware that the structure was going to be in place “I am very happy [about the situation],” Keegan said yesterday after further discussions with Chris Mort, his chairman. “That’s a fact.”. Lamine Diatta signed the 7th March with no players signing in the January transfer window leaving our squad bare. I just get the feeling that Keegan knew about the structure and it was a poor decision by everyone involved with the timing and lack of news coming out of the club. Also everything seems to be a 'fact' , the club statements etc. Anyway, I wasn't expecting a result, but the performance does not inspire me for the next two games. Perhaps Shola was right when he said we has to get results against the clubs around us, we didn't against Hull and we won't against West Ham.
  4. Was the summer Keegans first transfer window? I know he came back in January, but he didn't get the full window. Did we make any signings during that transfer window? Wise was appointed late in the season iirc as well.
  5. f*** that. Keegan was well within his right to walk, he owes this club nothing, and if he feels like his hands were tied and he couldn't do his job then I support him 100%. I can't believe people can blame Keegan for this. I blame Ashley, Llambias, Wise AND Keegan. The people wo are suffering are the players and the supporters, although I do wonder if some revel in defeat so they can gain further ammunition to use against the board etc.
  6. We have the making of a good side, but injuries are taking there toll on the depth of the squad. We can't change the side to have a great impact because the bench is weak. Maybe bring on Gonzalez and Bassong, but I wouldn't get the younger players involved in this game. Out of todays line up I would say Edgar, Butt, Duff and Cacapa are or should be on the way out at the end of the season. Everyone else could possibly play to a top 8 standard, some even higher. I'm not expecting a result today, but we need to change the plan on the field and most certaintly off it if we want to improve and stop the rot settling in further.
  7. I'm sure someone on here said he was past it as well. Lua Lua is injured.
  8. West Ham will go on and win 3-0, early momentum with Zola being the new boss. Edgar is Championship standard at best.
  9. He isn't starting today, but in the brief appearance against Hull he looked like he could be a decent player. He ran with the ball and was a different option to Butt. I didn't really pay much attention to Guthrie before he signed and can't remember him standing out during Bolton's season. He seems like he could be another decent player, but not develop into a 'Top Class' player like other clubs have in that area. Other clubs like Portsmouth loan players from the top Preiership sides, Armand Traore for example, but don't seem to be labelled a feeder club by their fans like we were when we signed Rossi. If Gonzalez has the same impact as Helder from a few years ago I will be happy.
  10. Jo should have scored there.
  11. I feel sorry for Mike Ashley. He has approached this venture as if it was one of his businesses but football isn't the same. He has got a hard time from the fans, most of it undeserved imo. Yes appointing Dennis Wise wasn't the smartest move, but I don't think many were complaining before Keegan was sacked about him being here. My main reason for feeling sorry for Ashley is that I don't know the full story behind what has happened with Keegan, most of it has come from inside sources or the media. I think Llambias, Wise and Jiminez should have been the ones to get stick more at the game rather than chants of 'You fat bastard'. Keegan isn't blameless in this situation and that was exactly what was going through my mind as Hull beat us. Now its most likely our next owners will be foreign, who knows what will happen? We will probably end up with a relative of Thaksin or worse. Will they have long term aims? Ashley had a structure in place due to the debt the club had, but will a new owner look into this rather than just going out and spending £20m+ on wages etc. Will the fans ever be happy? I admit I was happy with Ashley, I still am. I liked that we had a long term plan and that the club would be sustainable. At the end of the day I want a football club, rather than a football club crushed under huge debt. When he appointed Keegan I was unsure but willing to give him a chance and he produced some good football and got the players playing with confidance. I think if the way he left was different there wouldn't have been a hugh uproar i.e. more communication rather than finding out 8 hours later after the news first broke.
  12. Minutes before kick off after a poor shooting pratice the players are huddled near the centre circle. The ball falls to Ameobi who takes a touch to steady himself then plants the ball into the back of Steven Taylor's head! Taylor nearly knocked unconscious from 5 yards before kick off. I'm just surprised he managed to stay on his feet.
  13. I knew there would be a reaction to what has happened, but think the crowd went about it the wrong way. The only time any noise was generated was chants of "He's a dwarf", "We hate cockneys" and "Keegan". I don't think I heard any chants apart from a few "Newcastle" sparingly, but the general atmosphere was poor.
  14. Just back from the game and thought we started off brightly with some slick passing moves and could have done with a few players having a shot instead of laying it off to a team mate. I thought Guthrie did ok in spells, but at times his reactions to the play were too slow and his red card was just stupidity. Ameobi is useless, he can't tackle, head or even run properly. Owen was MotM for me with his determination to win the ball back and run at players. Nacho looks like he could be a useful addition and Xisco could be a promising player.

    Players in public

last night? Didn't see them. Martins was in the VIP area, while Zog was sat downstairs near the DJ booth. They seemed alright.

He talked a bit of sense, kept the mongs quiet for a few minutes, but Ashley isn't going to be at the Hull game man.
  22. David Craig trying to pick up Georgie Thompson there, smooth.

was about to say I swear I've seen him on the doors for Tiger. He was there on Monday. Aye I think he is on most Monday.
  24. 'I urge all loyal Toon fans to stay away as the money will go straight into Ashleys pocket'. Do people not realise that he already has the season ticket money? What the point of staying away as he still has your money.
