  1. Haha belly bumps taking his daughter out.
  2. This might be off on a tangent, but when I was at school they use to reward 100% attendance with the offer of two tickets (kid and friend/parent) for a Newcastle game. I don't know if it was via Newcastle United or just through the school, but I'm sure it will have had some benefit.
  3. Love it how he's the FORGOTTEN MAN already. N'Zogbia who?
  4. Picked up a knock for the French U21's that kept him out last week, and this according to .com Was at Sea last night, dancing away freely. Didn't seem to be in much pain at all If N'Zogbia was out last night (I can't imagine him dancing either, would have thought he would be in a mood over in the corner) I don't think there is any point in him staying after the summer. I don't think we have missed him in the recent games since moving to a 4-3-3 formation and if he wants to play elsewhere it will be his loss.
  5. I remember seeing Laurent Robert and Andrew Griffin going toe to toe during a training session all because Griffin scythed him down with a toe footed tackle and then Robert reacted to that. Warren Barton of all people sorted it out by grabbing Griffin and taking him down.
  6. Djemba Djemba was declared bankupt recently and happens to have been sent off and 3 team mates booked in a 1-0 defeat against Derby for Burnley.

  8. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/28032008/1/roeder-stoke-paid-big-shola.html Initial fee of £3m, maybe it will work out at £500,000 a game? (Stoke have 6 games left) Then the option to make it permanent in the summer for £5m. Unreal piece of business for Newcastle.

I watched a Ligue 2 game in France last August for €1 and got a free programme as well. The game finished 2-0 to Montpellier and was a quite decent standard. The highest ticket price, seating area, was €8.
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/6232364.stm Thanks. I agree that he wasn't cut out for the Premiership, but thought he would be decent in Italy. I guess there could be a few reasosn why he hasn't played like injury, has anyone seen him play?
  11. This. He's now got Premier League experience* on his CV too. Don't think we'll struggle finding a buyer tbh. *Albeit not very successful. We will always have difficulty selling on players who have failed here and are on long contracts. Ok he's not going to be on a huge salary in prem league terms, but he'll have great difficulty getting it match by another team in another league. His reputation is in the toilet in England, just being associated with a NUFC back four will not have done him any favours. Italy may be a no go now too if he's failed to make an impact there. Dropping out of the Czech 2008 squad will bring his reputation down still further. He'll have to take a drop in wages to go most anywhere else, I can see another loan deal to the likes of PSV or Feynoord or at best a 1 Mill move to Olympiacos or somewhere like that. Fair enough. Considering he only cost us £2.9m though I can't see us raising just a million for him being a problem, even if I think we will do that easily. Was part of his fee not appearance based?
  12. Fabio Zamblera scored in a 1-1 draw with Turkey U19s today. The next game for Italy U19s in Ukraine on the 16th April.
  13. Kazenga Lua Lua didn't play for DR Congo against Gabon and isn't in the 18 to play against Algeria. www.leopardsfoot.com
  14. I haven't been that impressed with Doninger. He has decent set pieces and thats about it. His passing is worse than Nicky Butt's and is more likely to turn out like Brittain.
  15. Was on the radio that Ashley now has King Kev 1 on his shirt instead of Smith 17.

    For Those Who

Some bloke, who was sitting in a seat which doesnt have a season ticket holder, decided to have an argument over Martins with a lad who sits near me and has for as long as I have been going. He started saying he had been going for 40 years etc and then left after the 2nd goal.

    Players in public

Given in his silver Bentley near Cowgate roundabout on my way to the ground.
  18. Thought it was a good display, but Fulham really didn't offer anything except a few wayward efforts from Bullard. I thought Enrique, Barton, Owen and Faye had good games. Viduka had a good 25 minute spell and Beye did well. Geremi, although his corners were pants, did put in a decent shift and his freekick was perfect for Owen's goal. Harper made a few good saves, but wasn't really tested at all. Martins had his moments, but if he actually looked to run into space or beyond a player he would be a far greater threat. An argument started near me when this guy was saying that Martins should make runs beyond defenders and another guy leapt to hs defence saying all he had to do was score. Then he stood up and said he had been going to the games for 40 years (first time I saw him sit near me) and after the second went in he left, super fan.
  19. Was it worse than the Saha goal against us, when he walked past about 3 players?
  20. Does anyone else think that Butt only looked good last season because we didn't really have any standout players? He looked better as we had players like Huntington and Ramage starting week in and out, but was just average.
  21. If results stay this way we (can't see us scoring) are 2 points from the relegation zone and an inferior goal difference to most sides at the bottom.
  22. In most games at reserve level it is mainly kids against kids aka as the best Acadmeny players. So a big fucker like Carroll is going to dominate but put him against blokes who have a bit nouse, bulk & are bigger than him & he struggled. Not usually Academy players at Spurs, more often than not the youngsters who left the Academy last summer but haven't yet broken into the first team squad. Spurs played top of the table Villa tonight and played really well for a change to win 3-0. Pity Brummie isn't about now! Out of interest the teams were: Spurs: Button; Gunter, Archibald-Henville, Rocha, Martin; Parrett (Fraser-Allen, 50), Martin, Rose, Taarabt; Pekhart, Dawkins (Kasim, 82) Unused subs: Jansson, C Butcher, Cox Aston Villa: Sorensen; Hogg (Forrester, 66), Lichaj, Lund, Earls; Routledge, Salifou, D Bellon, Y Bellon (Albrighton, 59); Clancy (Bradley, 73), Berger Unused sub: Bevan May have overplayed the Acadmeny kid line slightly but the reseve teams nowadays are a lot younger to what these they used to be. Very true. With established average players costing millions, it makes a lot of sense to try to bring the kids on, if they make the grade all well and good, if they don't then they're a saleable asset (hopefully) to a Championship side or suchlike. But has it not become a beefed up junior league rather than a step to the first team. It depends on the club's philosophy on the youngsters and whether the manager is prepared to give them a go, but I do accept your point as the majority of clubs won't give their kids the opportunity to show what they can do in the first team. I suppose I get a bit of a distorted picture with Spurs' division, which also include Villa, West Ham and Arsenal, all of which, along with Spurs, do try to bring youngsters through. Ramos and Poyet were there tonight and apparently have seen enough of Danny Rose to be probably adding him to some squads this season with a view to making him a regular squad member next season. He has played well whenever I've seen him, tonight everything Spurs did went through Rose and Taarabt, looked very impressive, as did 16 year old Dean Parrett until he got a knock and was substituted. Ironically, tonight there were more experienced players on the pitch than I've seen in a long time. Spurs had Rocha (I won't count Gunter) and Villa had Sorensen, Routledge and Berger, that doesn't happen too often. Did Parrett get signed from QPR? £1m for a 14 year old iirc. Man City had an experienced side when we played them as well.
  23. Chelsea have appealed against Frank Lampard's red card against West Ham. Personally, I think if they were to follow suit it should be extended as Lampard kicked out and pushed Boa Morte, although Boa Morte also kicked out. However, he'll probably get away with it because its a Chelsea player. It could turn into an interesting debate: Aliadiere gets a 4 game ban for slapping (Chimbonda style) Mascherano after being provoked. Lampard has a chance of it, but won't be decided until 4 March, with imo more contact than Aliadiere.
  24. I don't think the defence is our problem area, but midfield is definately the weakest link of our side. It doesn't offer enough protection against opposition attacks and fails to create any chances for our forwards. This leading to us not scoring goals and shipping goals against the great sides.
  25. 3 points out of the last 30. Wa something thrown onto the pitch as well?
