Even if Sol was to sign for us, he'll be in the team on merit. If he doesn't play well enough, we have ample cover anyway. I'm not bothered if he signs or not, I personally think our defence is capable enough to survive in the premier league. If he does sign, I secretly hope he'll have a killer final season for us, managing to do his bit to keep us up! Lots of If's and Buts of course, we've all heard the sol rumour before (for about 5 years now)

I have no idea what you lot are talking about, did all the fans make a bzzzzzz noise or something..
-
Some really good goals, glad for the players who grabbed them too
-
He has one more season with us as #1, then the following season I see him on the bench behind krul/fraser. That's how I think it'll pan out and I have no problems with that at all

if your only 20 years old, can get in the everton team, is in the england u-21s and is rated around £4m range already...I reckon that's a sign of a good prospect

ignore that Dave fella, he's just a forum troll
-
Our squad is tiny, we won't be letting anyone go at the moment..

It shows they are looking for players that are going cheap. I don't understand this comment, we have no money to spend, surely we have no option BUT to look at cheap/loanable players?

Sounds good to me although it's still 3 months until he can play so consider my excitement a tad muted

krul versus jose! http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2010/07/08/split-loyalties-for-spanish-ace-and-dutch-star-72703-26810827/ Before heading to Dublin for the Toon’s pre-season boot camp, Enrique said: “It is brilliant for Spanish football. “Many people thought the Germans would beat us because they had been in such good form earlier in the tournament, but maybe they had reached their peak by beating Argentina 4-0. “I was always confident, and as it turned out we could have won by an even bigger margin had we put away our chances. “Germany never really looked like scoring and credit for that must go to our defence who were magnificent, as well as Iker Casillas. “In midfield we worked tirelessly too and passed the ball round really well.” Enrique admits he will be waiting come Sunday evening for Krul, who he expects to be an inconsolable figure come the end of the clash in South Africa. He added: “As for Sunday, well Tim is on a loser I am sorry to say. It is a real pity for him because he iss such a nice lad! “Seriously, though, I firmly believe we have the quality to win the World Cup first the first time – and then just watch Spain celebrate! “I am going for 2-1, with maybe David Villa and Alonso grabbing the goals.” However, Krul – whose best pal Wesley Sneijder is one of the talismen for Holland – said: “I am not sure what Jose is on! “Holland will win 3-2 in what I predict will be a classic final between the two best footballing sides in the tournament. “We have not lost yet, unlike Spain, and I know the team are high on confidence. “We have the players to unlock any defence in the world, and the determination and resolve to put our bodies on the line for our country.” Speaking on his close mate Sneijder, Krul added: “Wesley has been outstanding, while I am going for Robin van Persie to score the winner.” The scenes in Amsterdam earlier this week were nothing short of sensational as a nation rejoiced in reaching the final. Krul said: “I would give anything to be there, or even on the streets of Amsterdam on Sunday night after we have won it. I cannot wait!”
