I do agree. But Shelvey is an even bigger liability defensively, and he's not exactly making up for it by creating a ton of chances. This area needs addressing so badly to state the obvious.
-
Shelvey and whoever has gone alongside him are the obvious problem. That is my biggest disappointment with Howe, sticking with Shelvey. You are just asking for the midfield to get overrun. And for what, an occasional sixty yard pass?
-
And it's not Shadow Puppets.
-
That's just it. I think Howe is seriously going to have to make an example of some players. the captain of this shit show is a good place to start.
-
What? He comes across as having a lot of charisma.
-
yeah, he deserves a good handy

Frankly I think it's more about the fit. As I said, this team is poorly constructed. Back to my Warriors comparison, pundits were flipping out that they didn't trade their draft picks for a star. Instead, they picked up extremely shrewd players who fit in with Kerr's style. It is an extremely well constructed team, with each player buying 100% into Kerr's philosophy. This squad looks like a patched up jester's suit.

Nah, I don't include you in with some of the real shit .

One again, man, we are not having a go at different opinions. How many times do we have to mention this. KI just alluded to this. And you keep on defending some of them as if we are oppressing them. FWIW, I was never attacking you. I never even had you in mind. If anything, I just find it strange that it is almost the exact people doing this, with the exception of Pilko, who defended Rafa at the time.

Seriously.

Good on you for taking your data point of one game. You must be one hell of a prognosticator. -
Sadly it is, dude. Go back to the Benitez thread. The 2017-18 mid period was some grim reading. And certain people should be called out for their bullshit which sounds eerily similar. Not saying I am not disappointed with Howe, but it's fucking absurd.
-
And funnily enough, some people were accusing Rafa of having no game plan, and not being able to adjust to the match.
-
I'm not so certain of that. Some of you people have very short memories. As I've had to mention a few times, a fair few on here were calling for him to be sacked in December-January 2018.
-
Fairly comfortable only at the end. Just seemed that he was always relying on some bizarre purple patch. I love Rafa to bits, but I wasn't exactly 100% convinced that we were staying up in January of 2018. Most on here weren't either, with a fair few calling for his head. It was a horrendous stretch of 11 games, and we were in serious shit. Just seems to me that it was only a matter of time until this shower of shit went down again. Howe in the end may not be good enough. These players sure as shit aren't now, even if some were just a few years ago. It's such a poorly constructed squad. I know it's a different sport, but seeing how the Warriors went out and brought in pieces that perfectly fit the style is night and day compared to this fucking jester's suit of a team.

I honestly don't think these players were ever good enough for midtable, even if they managed it for a couple of years. There were times in all of those seasons that there was a genuinely real threat of going down. Back in 2017-18, many of you were absolutely convinced that we were doomed. We totally should have gone down last season. Players in key positions are just absolute garbage. The league has moved on a little bit, and they haven't.
-
That midfield is just AIDS. Can't see a win with it, bar some bizarre fluke. Last couple of years not giving a shit about this shower were nice.

Sounds like this is a roundabout way of saying that they need to do their part and play the role of bottom every once in awhile. Teamwork. -
We haven't had control of our club for awhile. Baron Harkonnen was the diametric opposite of fan control.

Was there during and after the revolution for about a year, working on a documentary and with the musicians on a music festival. Back in the day, I used to post updates on here when I was there (as QuakesMag of course).

Libya was a dry country when I was there, and it was still pretty damn easy to get booze, even under Gaddafi.

Some asshole is going to mention that Sharif don't like it announced before 8am, so it may as well be me. -
It's like Electronic Voice Phenomenon...dipshits making patterns out of the noise, 100% sure that it's a demon saying, "get out". Of course never mind that they're in an Italian monastery and the demon is speaking in English.

Probably some of this, but our awful position is not exactly helping either, as you well know. But if we weren't so desperate for Watford, 2 signings in the first 11 days is abnormally good for this club, given the past years under the fat man. -

That's just it. Taken out of context, all this debate is of course fine, but there are a few on here who are going to complain no matter what. And that is specifically the issue that I, and I imagine some others, have. This place is a great resource for information, but damn do we have to suffer through some insufferable behavior to get it. And just to reiterate. There is often as much of a gulf between pessimism and realism as there is between realism and optimism. The thing is, I would much rather be around a blind optimist than a blind pessimist.
