  1. Barton's s***. I don't think he is. But even if he is shit, he will be miles better than our current midfield.
  2. He's not good enough to do so though. Then again Keegan was a s**** tactician apparently so Hughton probably stands a chance. It's only a myth that KK was a shit tactician imo. He discovered a way to play such an attractive football that we maybe won't see here in the next years. The use of Owen there was an absolute masterstroke as well as Owen was unmarked in most parts of the game and could ghost into the box and score.
  3. Again, don't think he will be back for Coventry. Hughton said 3 week and that was only 1 week ago iirc.
  4. Sometimes this season reminds me of the Bundesliga in Germany... Bayern sometimes play very poor games and get some draws but the oppositions lose so they still gain something.
  5. how would the "real" Barcelone actually look like against us? My guess: Bored after 5 minutes
  6. We should offer them all to our friend Big Sam. Buy Butt Get Nolan and Smith free.
  7. There were worse last season.... Think the last 15 minutes or so made the whole performance look slightly better than it actually was as we finally started to put some pressure on them.

  9. Good manager + bad players = good performance (sometimes) As we saw when Keegan was here he could let a midfield of Geremi, Butt and Barton outplay teams like Spurs. Crucially we had Martins to provide power and pace up front, and Owen providing runs from midfield. If we had someone to do what Owen did it would make a massive difference. Unfortunately we've got Kevin Nolan whose only fit body part is his drinking arm. I think Routledge could probably do the job Owen did back then. Not in terms of scoring the goals but in terms of creativity. I think about something like: Guthrie Barton/Smith Jonas Routledge Carroll/Ameobi/Ranger Lovenkrands Think this could work, but I doubt that Hughton will ever play like this.
  10. Be fair to the bloke, he'd had to warm up before the game. Be even more fair to him, he is said to lead the warm up, isn't he?

  12. Maybe Nolan should be used as a striker only. He can't run or pass quick so let's use him as a part-time-striker. He could be the same sort of striker like Viduka (because of the fat).
  13. "Current away form" - Just like it always has been. We're shit away from home.
  14. Just checked it we have 2 home games now coming up. Good that the next is Wednesday as we need a win and fast. I think that those two home games could be key for the further part of the season as if we win we'll probably be ok again but if we lose we'll be in big trouble.
  15. Just invite him for an all-you-can-eat party and he will be there.
  16. There is some truth in that. Our players thought the same last year and then after the Villa match wondered "hey? have we just gone down? well, never mind, I'm off to Spurs..."
  17. Not sure Routledge deserved a 7 like. I think he did well. Should get more support from strikers and the rest of the so called midfield.
  18. Yes. Against Cardiff. WBA at home was a top game from both sides.
  19. We should buy him a new watch or we should tell him that a match normally has 45 x 2 mins so he could do his substitutions right in time.
