  1. Bayern looking poor so far... Still think they will win, but not so confident like I've been before.
  2. Sol Campbell starts for Arsenal tonight... Quite a step forward for him from Football League to Champions League.
  3. Hughton just likes to drop his captains. Dropped Owen last season... This season he first dropped Butt, then Smith and just watch out, it will soon be Nolan as well
  4. BBC Newcastle (for UK only) It goes off when the match is on, like it has for years. Might be available online here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_radio_coventry_warwickshire/ Does it go off when you are located in the UK as well? I always thought that it only went off because I'm not in the UK. Yes. If you want to listen online to Radio Newcastle commentary then: www.nufc.co.uk Thanks. So the idea of trying to fake my IP-address seems pointless.

  6. NUFC: Steve Harper, Danny Simpson, Fabricio Coloccini, Mike Williamson, Patrick van Aanholt, Wayne Routledge, Kevin Nolan ©, Danny Guthrie, Jonas Gutierrez, Andy Carroll, Peter Lovenkrands Subs: Tim Krul, Fabrice Pancrate, Alan Smith, Fitz Hall, Leon Best, Nile Ranger, Ryan Taylor official! Really hoping that Guthrie takes his chance tonight as a central midfielder. It might be one of his last ones as Barton is about to come back and Smith won't be dropped for too long.
  7. I'm really surprised that Smith gets dropped recently in our home games. Think that's a clever move from Hughton as he's only needed away from home probably.
  8. Same team like vs. Cardiff, isn't? Great CM, no Smith means we will play and not only look to destroy.
  9. Our designated home games night is wednesday, the mackems' is Tuesday. Ok, but since the Mackems wern't playing on a Tuesday surely we could of taken their spot for this week. Why? It's always a wednesday night at home? Because our closest rivals in the league were playing that night aswell, meaning the pressure would be on us tonight regardless of their results, would of seemed more fair to of let us play at the same time. But we always play home games on a Wednesday night. Divvent mess with it man. It's bad enough that Saturday at 3pm is as rare as hens teeth without changing midweek games to some stupid day and time. Anyway, Tuesdays are shite. They don't deserve Newcastle matches. We had games on Tuesday as well. Scunthorpe away (which we lost) and Derby away (which we... lost). So probably a good thing that we play on Wednesday.
  10. Didn't he? He played him sometimes ahead of Owen and Viduka. (even if they were both fit)
  11. It looks likely. Just checked that our game that day will be on TV. Don't know which one to watch, Jonas beating Germany or us beating Bristol... Seriously, we shouldn't let Jonas go for a unimportant friendly game as he's our only decent left winger. I'm not prepared to see Guthrie there again. Chances are he'll be desperate to play in that though. I know Maradona has guarenteed him a place pretty much, he'll probably want to make sure he plays in all the friendlies to confirm his place. Well, come that day we might even be 10 points ahead of WBA and Forrest so it won't matter anyway. Or we will be 5 or so behind...
  12. When's his contract up? No way in hell should he be offered another one after yet another season on the sidelines. I really think we should look to sell him as soon as we're back in the Premier League. Some CCC club might take him. He isn't up to it in the Premier League anyway. Keegan has been the only manager who actually did see that and wanted to sell him... sadly Shola failed his fitnes-test iirc. He got "homesick" during his time with Stoke, didn't he? Was that under Keegan? Yes. Was at the end of the 07/08 campaign. After that at the start of the 08/09 season Keegan looked to sell him. He was only loaned out to Stoke.

  15. Thats one thing I actually love about Hughton. He is a really emotional manager who shows his emotions on the touchline. Loved that about Shearer and Keegan, too.
  16. Will be interesting to see whether Nolan will be playing tonight and if he's playing then how he's playing. Really hope that he somehow can rediscover his form he once had in the early parts of the season. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2010/02/17/courage-of-kevin-nolan-is-undiminished-61634-25849260/
  17. 10 € on Bayern and us tonight.
  18. For this match probably it's a bad thing that WBA haven't won yesterday as now our players and our mastermind Chris won't see that much urgency to win our game. One point today would be enough for top of the table, so lets go out for a 0-0. Hope I'm totally wrong here, obviously and hope that everyone will give 110% and will go out for a win tonight.
  19. An american friend of mine said that the tour was well worth it, especially as he appreciated the change of when the stadium was empty on the tour and then when it was full for the match, he said he couldn't have imagined what it would be like and made the build up to the game better. The Strawberry is definitely one to experience. Don't bother with Whitley Bay. In 2008 (my so far only visit to Newcastle) I've also made the tour. Was great as you get an real inside look into the stadium. Wasn't expensive either, so I would even do it again by my next visit.
  20. I fully expect Becks to score tonight or at least to put in a great performance. In other news, Michael Owen, soon to be former Manchester United player, warms again the bench in a cold night in Milan...
  21. Decent odds on us to win the next two (Coventry and Preston) @2,3. I'm just thinking about whether putting a 10er on or not.

    Danny Guthrie

You must know that he means alongside some new players to fill the other spots. Yes, obviously. Such as Routledge? Who ended up at QPR btw. Let's not kid ourselves. We'll need 3 new midfielders and 2 new strikers at an absolute minimum to stay up. I haven't said we don't need to bring in those amount of players. Probably even more than that. But I've said that this list of players I've posted are worth keeping. Not that they would be in my starting XI week in week out.
  23. That's what Hughton said about Barton now... looks like he won't be fit for Coventry. (Looks like I've been right there with not trusting Chris's statements about Barton's fitness) Btw: Can anyone explain to me what "lads group of games" means? Or is it a missprint and actually has to be "last group of" games?
