  1. Kind of feels like another crossroads this though, in losing Pardew he's lost the gobshite that somehow enchanted the masses into believing his bullshit. Hopefully the spell has been broken and if they wheel out another stooge who doesn't have PR skills people will get belligerent. There was something about Pardew and our fans that I really hope we don't see repeated.
  2. At this stage. Poor managerial appointment things might get messy pretty quick.
  3. It's possible that the silence has ensued after they've met and the club have asked Garde to keep silent for whatever reason and that's why France has been quiet for a while. I doubt it though tbh, I'm just not hopeful over this appointment. To be fair, if he wasn't in the running I would expect he or a club source would have said so. Likewise if the talks that are supposed have happened went badly it would have been reported somewhere. Still crossing my fingers he will be announced either tmrw or Monday. Does seem strange he wouldn't at least be there to watch the game if that was the case. But to be honest if he has two weeks to get to know them now, he won't get anything more from watching live than watching the coverage and working with them til the Burnley game. It also doesn't upset the players, fans or staff that he is there. I still live in hope, like every transfer window. Fool. Hopeful it's just their absolute cuntish behaviour at work. They know the done would be to appoint a manager before a home game, lift the mood and give everyone a bit of optimism. Nah, we can't be having that shit, you'll get a new manager but you're not going to enjoy it.

I doubt it though tbh, I'm just not hopeful over this appointment. Literally no point in trying to second guess Ashley, f*** knows what's going on, but at least the pendulum has swung away from Carver and there has been no denial or ruling out from either camp about Garde and as long as it stays that way, there is hope. True enough. How's the pendulum swung away from Carver btw? I've just woke up with a hangover. Without reading through it all again, it was along the lines of the club needs to hire a coach soon, whether that be him or someone else. When asked if he was out of the running after today's result he admitted that he probably was as it is a results based business and it's not been good enough. Well, thank f*** I suppose if that's the case. Can't blame the guy for wanting his dream job, can only blame the club for considering someone who's clearly not good enough. Now they just need to make the right decision. Just once it'd be nice if they did something professional like. Press conference tomorrow giving Garde time before the next game etc. ....you're still drunk aren't you? Looks like it

    John Carver

His hands are clearly tied working in the Ashley regime like. Impossible job.
  10. He doesn't really need to buy Rangers, he's positioning himself now to own all of the assets (and he already has the retail tied up) he can own everything of worth and let someone else run the troublesome football side whilst having to pay him for the privilege. This. He has basically owned all the profitable parts of the club for a year or so now, no need to buy them This concerns me somewhat, in the sense that he'll probably get ideas in his head about us if/when he comes to sell. I think he'll want to sell all the shit that gives him headaches and is vulnerable to losing money (the football stuff) and keep all the things that are cash cows (merchandise and SD advertising) Could make finding a buyer very difficult indeed if he does try it, not that it's been easy so far obvs

    John Carver

He could help his case by winning a fucking game, the mouthy useless cunt.
  12. Absolutely diabolical man. For all the talk of this system and the new manager being a coach they're not just going to sign 2 players now, then bring the manager in especially when you consider any previous targets would have Pardews stink on them to some degree. It's obvious the manager has to come in first, so delaying it just backs up what Lineker is saying. Chronicle is a travesty.
  13. How many times? He's allowed to believe in his innocence, he'll honestly believe he's had his entire life ruined by a pissed lass let's not forget. The tweets she put out at one point about how much she was going to make off the whole thing don't look good on that score either, assuming they're not made up by Evan's 'supporters'. In essence you have one person backed up by witnesses saying the lass consented etc and on the other hand you have a lass saying she can't remember what happened AT ALL, yet the narrative is always that she's the one had her life ruined. Don't get it.
  14. Aye, like we'll be lucky enough to get rid of Pardew and MYM comes back. The club would be sold to ISIS the next day.
  15. what an absolutely amazing memory to have of a footballer, wish i'd seen keegan in his prime like
  16. If stories are to be believed, was on target to break Pardew's jaw before Shola stepped in. That's not true. He was mouthing off and refusing to speak to other players but he never went for Pardew. I don't know who's been telling you fibs but at no point did Hatem physically go for Pardew. He squared off with Pardew until Shola intervened. That's from as good as it gets in terms of source I've got it from better. There was shouting but at no point did Hatem go for him. I'd be very surprised if it was better than where I've got it from. They squared off, and Shola intervened, after the Man Utd game. No punches were thrown, that's true. Well I've got it from an honest person involved. But as I said, Hatem didn't go for him. Shouting, mouthing off and ignoring teammates was as hostile as Hatem got. FFS just say who it is then! The rumors are already out there whats the worst that can happen. And so Pardew ended HBA career at NUFC cos they had a bit of a shout? this was my first thought on reading Ron's version like
  17. Ugh, forgot about the international break. As if January wasn't shit enough. i've been fairly positive in my thinking about a new manager to this point but the hammer drop is coming, i can feel it
  18. This 2 week break is starting to loom over us now like the spectre of death
  19. don't see why, 5 months of evaluating what he's got before he puts them all in a skip
  20. But Garde is available now, why would he need to wait until Lyon's backroom staff are available? He could surely use our staff until the summer, it hardly sounds like a reason for delaying a new career. the summer part doesn't but lyon presumably wanting compensation does
  21. this is what i'm banking on, 9 hours ahead of you there so i'm just hoping to wake up and find out he's been appointed was thinking like, if he's not in the stands at southampton it suggests they're nowhere near to me
  22. so good coming back in here these days, i just don't care anymore see he's signed sanogo on loan, is he a big useless lump of shit to fill the shola-shaped hole in alan's life?
  23. it's got ashley's stink all over it this mind; gets 3.5m for pardew and garde is free, wants to come and on low-ish wages but wants his lads from lyon who could surely be got for reasonable compo ashley will want them for nowt and won't budge, 3.5m goes in his back pocket
  24. You say that but where's the smoking gun in this case? Whenever anyone is discussing the evidence publicly available there's never a damning piece of evidence against Evans. There's some stuff that "looks bad" but is that really enough? Everything discussed is 'in his favour' so to speak. Considering the campaign against him if there was such evidence used in court that proves beyond doubt he's guilty then I think we'd have heard about it by now. As far as I know it was decided in court the lass was too drunk to consent (as she said she had no memory and looked p*ssed on camera) and that's essentially the basis of his conviction. Of course there would have been a lot more to it than and if I'm wrong I'm wrong but I understand this as the ultimate basis to convict. You can tell me "it's the criminal justice system" all you like but that's no guarantee the right decision was made. I think we can all probably agree that, from what we've read, heard and seen ourselves, it does look dubious but on the same score, they found him guilty and he was sentenced as such. Pretty fair summary imo. The one thing I can't get over is the hypocrisy of those who are more than happy to point to "he's been convicted by the legal system" yet are completely unprepared to accept that under the very same legal system he has served the custodial part of his sentence and is now entitled to resume his career on probation. Like they're saying the law and our courts are always right and cannot be questioned- until they disagree with them, then that doesn't apply. The one real positive is that the case and media furore have really shone a spotlight on what legally constitutes rape. If the threat of going to jail is enough to make young lads in general think twice about taking advantage of that pissed up young lass they met when she was falling all over the place in the club then that's got to be a good thing. Don't think anyone is really saying that tbh. It's whether he can return to football is the contentious issue. No one is denying the bloke the right to work. Whilst on licence I'm not sure what sanctions apply No it's exactly what you're saying isn't it because the law doesn't specify anything for rape convictions/footballers so legally he's entitled to go back. Thus him returning to football shouldn't be contentious at all should it?
