  1. still chuckling at beoutq like must have put a 14 year old in charge of the project naming
  2. just reading the comments in that athletic article from today, some really good insights from the guy and he's providing numerous sources to back up what he's written short story it's very refreshing reading stuff on that site vs. the usual clickbait bullshit elsewhere, really glad i subscribed
  3. "KSA wants NUFC & won't want to lose face." could very well be key; they either lose to qatar by shutting down some piracy service or lose to qatar very publicly in having a high profile acquisition knocked back
  4. leaving aside all the human rights stuff it's increasingly amusing to me how desperate i am (and others) to get rid of a dishonest shithouse so we can be owned by bigger dishonest shithouses
  5. looks like it'll come down to whether the PL have the balls to make a massively, massively controversial decision that could have wider political implications really hard to imagine they do
  6. The selling boxes thing is meaningless though, and only relevant for the Sun like stories. The boxes are basically no different than an Android box or Fire stick being sold over here. In fact if you look at the boxes, they are basically just a branded version of popular Android boxes. so the actual direct piracy by them is 100% over then
  7. did we get an answer on whether that beoutq thing has shutdown? is it that the satellite thing has shut down but they're still selling boxes or some shit?
  8. i'd imagine there's a large element of trying not to upset bein too much as well mind, rather than just covering themselves legally
  9. They're not. It's hardly news over here; I get the distinct impression that this means more to Qatar than it does to KSA. With all the financial restrictions and belt-tightening measures taken by the government due to a covid-related economic downturn, this is fast becoming a headache that KSA do not need. Additionally, with salaries going down by 40%, vat increasing from 5 to 15%, the timing for a 'vanity project' like this is ill-judged here at present. I have many friends - leading directors- in the housing project at PIF that echo these sentiments. Broken record and I hope I'm wrong but I heavily doubt this will go through. So why are they investing all over the place then, including sums far exceeding what they will be paying for the club. Crisis investment and diversification. How many of these bigger investments were met with the same criticisms? I don't see the ROI's on this deal being worth the hassle and associated bad press. buying the club had to be part of a strategy like, they've not done it for a fucking laugh, so they're either abandoning that strategy over a (relatively) short-term downturn or they'll crack on with their plan my suspicion is they'll crack on unless it gets to the point where they feel slighted by the approval process or something
  10. athletic thing a good read but hasn't changed anything imo, have always thought the PL are trying to find a way to get the deal through and i'm still of that opinion
  11. interesting that chelsea don't seem to think they need a top class CB mind, they should break the bank for koulibaly or someone as what they have isn't good enough for a crack at the title, whereas most of the rest of their squad looks like it will be
  12. amazed no one has come up with some CGI to stick fake crowds in the stadiums tbh
  13. in s2 of STID yeah, 100k p/a or summit i think
  14. Very much so but i think that was pretty understandable tbf. What was the main reason? Where did it start to go bad for him with the fans? I mean the Netflix flick just shows a glimpse of what he was like but it ran deeper didn't it? He asset stripped for Short from the off and was the public face of the club ownership when he was there. what
  15. Funny thing about King to Manyoo is that if they had a great manager be could be brilliant there. I like King a lot. But they don't. They have the Norwegian Boris Johnson in charge so King would actually be perfect in one respect, just not on the pitch.
  16. Leave son. Be the last stand against Ashley and potentially improve your game a load.
  17. this is what i've been saying for weeks, imo they're covering their arses and trying to find ways to sell the decision to their broadcasting partners
  18. Are you really saying you can knock a multi-million pound deal back, based on a reasonable opinion without evidence Well thats exactly what the rules say so yeah The Saudi reaction to a knock back based specifically on piracy would be interesting mind. The PL would essentially be saying that the Crown Prince of a sovereign state is Del Boy Trotter. I'd be amazed if they took that lying down tbh. I don't think they would take it lying down but doubt that any appeal would involve them still trying to buy us either. They would just want compensation for the embarrasment of it all. If this doesnt happen at the first attempt there wont be a 2nd attempt IMO. The whole future of NUFC is on a knife edge. Only way it would stick around is Staveley obvs. If she can convince them they'd win an appeal the same way she convinced him to invest. Guess it would depend entirely on what the lawyers say but for the PL to outright say you can't own this club because of piracy in SA would be astonishing. It's why I still think it'll go through.
