i think he's much better in a team that have better all round movement personally, you can see little glimpses when him and ASM are running at defences and moving around each other with support from the flanks etc. i mean sounds obvious anyways but in a better system with more movement i think a lot of the above go away/become mitigated and less noticeable The only two players we have with any sort of skill to move the ball up the pitch. We are immobile when either of ASM or Miggy are off the pitch, more so ASM. exactly, it still astounds me that after however many years it's been we've not been able to either sign a CM capable of box2box football and getting ahead of the ball running from deep, nor a manager capable of executing it

hate shit like this, the PL rules are vague as fuck for a reason man, so they can do what they want and let whoever they want into their club/deny access if the saudis hadn't been cunts over the piracy thing they'd not have been in this position What they are assessed on is not vague. Saying to someone you can’t buy the club unless you buy the TV rights is a clear attempt of blackmail. Even if it was allowed within the Premier League’s own rules, it wouldn’t be allowed legally. no it's not, it specifically mentions piracy/IP rights and also that the league are able to knock an application if they feel the evidence suggests they've done something and not been found guilty in a court under the most charitable interpretation of the saudi piracy thing the PL well within their rights to fuck it off imo and always have been, however they want the money in the league so trying to wring whatever they can out of them

not really bothered looking at the draw until now i mean on the unlikely chance we beat these it'll have to be the winner of sheff/arsenal for us to stand a chance; manyoo, chelsea or leicester will laugh us off the pitch -

You think it's too far fetched? If anything, it makes sense to me. Also worth remembering that when he became a billionaire (upon listing) he'd almost certainly have moved some of that money into commercial property as most mega rich folk do. It's just another asset class for them. Alan Sugar for example owns Amsprop which owns a fair bit of London commercial real estate and he bought that after making his money. Makes perfect sense to me too. He can diversify into rent seeking. yeah the landlord thing makes sense, he's recently bought a shop in yarm high street where i live actually just the metro centre or equivalent seems a major risk in that it's an all eggs in one basket type affair rather than him cherry picking numerous smaller, better sites dunno, can see both ways, if he can get it for a song then yeah probably

as he would have been under rafa what strikes me every single time i see him under bruce, in the knowledge it took him months to stop playing him RW, is that wherever bruce plays him his body position (and general position on the pitch) is always wrong to be able to do anything useful with the ball considering how heavily one footed he is

I guessing that the new owners can't actively negotiate contracts and deals, or atleast confirm them, until the takeover is officially complete. As if they agress a contract with Longstaff that is more then Ashley is willing to pay, and then the takeover gets rejected, Ashley is then forced to pay over the odds for a player he doesn't think is worth that amount. The easy way around that is for Longstaff to take the so called Ashley contract on a 2 year deal with it written in to negotiate a fresh deal after 12 months. At least that way hes not tied to the club, and surely the takeover will have passed by then, and he can renegotiate with new manager and owners? assumes ashley is a good faith actor and would accept that, which i doubt, he doesn't like people defying him

taking the "he's not a number 9" thing aside, which i agree with actually, i thought the difference with carroll's first touch was incredibly jarring yesterday...he was killing the ball stone dead surrounded by defenders, with big joe the ball invariably flies off a few feet in one direction from his first touch

If we score on 45 minutes and go in 1 up it'll be a perfect microcosm of Bruce's entire season. He's fucking garbage. -
