Pretty much how I feel word for word.

get back to the pele thread man Are you kidding me? I guess you are one of those who have this view on football that being in a relegation battle is fine as long as you play well for like 20 minutes after being down 2-0. I'm not saying we haven't played well today, I just think Pardew has got nothing right in terms of tactics and line-ups for the last 7 games. Anyone praising him for 20 mionutes should have a look at the table and the minutes Jonas has been playing of late. far from it, i'm one of the biggest pardew critics there is as it happens it was a narrow point with disclaimers for how shite we started yet you still felt the need to lay the boot in, whatever else you think after being so comprehensively outplayed 1st half the reaction he got from the team at the start of the second is something to be commended from a managerial perspective
-
so i'd have to say at this juncture +1 carr, -10 pardew for anita

get back to the pele thread man

wut? i was praising the reaction to being 0-2 down and playing like absolute shite not praising him for the next match
-
credit where it's due, we were HORRIFIC first half but writing 20 mins into the second it's been quite a reaction and i can only assume pardew is to praise for that (whatever the result may be)
-
with colo and santon he's pretty much the only genuine footballer in the side EDIT: firmly believe if we ever decide to be a footballing football team anita is going to be a great signing

I agree with this, we aren't playing all that badly. depends what you class as bad...if we approached the game to defend well we failed badly, if we approach the game to cause them problems we did ok for about 7 minutes without actually scoring -

Pardew's been found out. Thats what The problem is because of our performances against the lesser lights who spent way less than us, we have to put up a position where we have to put in a performance against this lot We're playing the current champions and a team that cost hundreds of millions of pounds, 2 of their players cost more than our entire squad. Is it any surprise? while there's truth in this there are also levels of competence, currently we can't be said to even resemble a competent team...some of this is laughable they've got players on us when they attack and players on us when they defend, what the fuck sort of game are we playing? -

Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
mrmojorisin75 replied to Dave's topic in Football
how big is messi now out of interest, was he a hobbit before barca swooped on with their magic growth pills i wonder? his game has very little to do with physique so unless he was literally a tiny, tiny cripple prior to the GH treatment it's a shit point -
well said, someone needs to put this on a banner/flag or summit and take it to the match not that it would matter

the modern game things the main element in messi's favour when talking about just how good he is but i agree that no-one should really be looking to take anything away from pele, it's madness the era's point was the best one made in this thread really -
aside from how awful he's been doing with the actual football he's showing signs of cracking with like this mind, it'll get him in the end, it gets them all in the end the madness

agree with hans and sewelly's posts...nothing to take away from cronaldo he's awesome *but* he's a striker basically aye, an amazing fuckin striker with outstanding consistency -
Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
mrmojorisin75 replied to Dave's topic in Football
i think this whole thing is largely an argument over semantics, i consider cronaldo to be a phenomenal goalscorer but not a phenomenal footballer, it's my understanding of the term meaning he'd need more to his game than i believe he does think of it this way; if you took cronaldo & messi in whatever team you like and told them they were only able to play their game in the middle third of the pitch what do you think would happen? my personal belief is that messi would adapt and in no time at all be running games from that position, whereas i think cronaldo would really, really struggle with it -
one aspect where he's really let things fall apart is home games, thinking back to the hughton sacking one thing pardew seemed to instantly be an upgrade on was winning home games....hughton had struggled badly and basically teams could come up to sjp shut up shop and walk away with a fairly easy 1 or 3 points, pardew came in and we looked strong at home again and that bred a confidence throughout everything else pardew is now slap bang in that same position...if you have a strong home record it'll mask a lot of things and this is really costing him, he hasn't a fucking clue how to change it in his favour either unfortunately qpr is big for me, he's got to win it, if he doesn't then i really fail to see a way back for him unless he's backed with some quality/appropriate players for his style in jan

depends how you classify phenomenal superlatives are easy to throw around., messi can not be stopped, it's a simple fact -

you appear to be the only one not getting it but anyway, carry on What am I not getting? You're absurd logic that goalscorers aren't proper footballers or something? Even if we were to wrongly pigeon hole Ronaldo as being an out and out poacher and nothing else, his goalscoring record is one of the best ever, which I think sort of qualifies him to be justified as a phenomenal footballer. it's not just me, read the thread dude i've already said multiple times in this thread i think he's a phenomenal goalscorer and that's where i'll stop
