    England

so many options with the england team, sad that none are ever taken i agree with gerrard there though - he needs to be there or there abouts given freedom to maraud, he's totally untouchable when he does that i'd make fat fwank carry the kits, never been an international class midfielder Utter bollocks. I'll use Euro 2004 as the sole basis for my argument, because I cannot be arsed to delve any deeper than that. you can do what you like really, get on with it if you can name me more than a handful games he excelled in against TOP CLASS international opposition i'll be fucken amazed, nevermind counting the amount of times he's never turned up against shite in qualifying (in this he's not alone of course)
  2. Agree completely. hadn't thought about it the shak puts it there before but i like it yeah, a strikeforce of pace, power & technique built around playing it on the floor as he rightly points out the CM would be key though

  4. Yeah, we should handsomely reward people who harass and provoke people in the public eye. Really sends out the right message for the youth of today on how to get ahead in the world. you jest but it's way things are going - get yourself on reality tv and hope to be picked up at the expense of actually having any talent, next step will be to somehow purloin (sp?) cash from people who do actually have talent by other means than shagging them one way would be to provoke a footballer into an attack then suing them there's probably $ signs pinging into peoples heads as i write!
  5. you're obviously of the opinion that whatever financial punishment he's had so far for each incident isn't sufficient then? care elaborate? there's very little i deplor in modern society than our gradual slide towards the u.s. method of anyone suing anyone for anything just because it's their right christ that was terriblly written, too fast, but i can't go to edit on the works computer as it crashes it for some reason!

    change the record man!
  9. Not sure if I want him here if he acts like he has been Although if the Modric money was there to be used and we run out of targets maybe we may go for him has he been acting up? just his agent doing the usual agent bullshit ain't it? anyways the fee/wages being talked about for the lad preclude a move from us imo
  10. nail on head; i'd sell him assuming we had a replacement but you've picked all the reasons he won't be sold there and why he'll most likely walk (imo) at the end of his contract i've just got no faith in the guy, he's englands michael owen to me nothing more nothing less - his loyalty so far in his career has been to money and country, not club(s) Why the hell does Owen always get singled out as having no loyalty? The only players these days who are loyal to a club over personal wealth and/or ambition are the ones no other fucker wants. Any player who is in demand will use any leverage they can to get more of the vast amounts of money in the game which people pay to see THEM. It's annoying to us as supporters, but it's nothing every single one of us wouldn't do ourselves, and anyone who says they wouldn't is lying. I'll take that bet. How much? 5 goals comfortable enough? two reasons UV, although i'm not singling him out: 1. he fucked liverpool with his contract situation, the club that made him the player he was, he forced them to accept a shite fee for a player who at that time was worth basically what we paid for him if not more (i understand this is his right but it doesn't mean i have to like it) 2. the england factor - i don't know the guy, and i did say i have no faith in him but for me he's an england player first in the exact same way as giggs was always a man u player rather than a wales one...this, again imo, has become less of a factor now that he's not "wanted" by cappello so he's become happy to talk up his newcastle game subjective mate, as always
  11. without me having to read 16 pages can anyone tell me WHY this happening? or does no-one know?

    England

his point about risk was a good one - for as long as i can remember england managers haven't taken any due to fear of the press (presumably) and the players either for i guess the same reason...don't really think it can be attributed to pressure of the game myself, they're all wealthy people these days who've seen a fair deal of pressure before in appointing cappello they've not really appointed a risk taker so i guess everyone had better get used to it

    Brian Barwick

worth a topic? "fat, useless suit steps down after being found out" there'll be another one in a year or two when the spiv they replace him with does the same pointless, like the FA
  14. nail on head; i'd sell him assuming we had a replacement but you've picked all the reasons he won't be sold there and why he'll most likely walk (imo) at the end of his contract i've just got no faith in the guy, he's englands michael owen to me nothing more nothing less - his loyalty so far in his career has been to money and country, not club(s)
  15. i think the lad was on about the fact he cost 20m as much as anything, i.e. we've a player in owen already who scores more goals than keane when fit (pretty sure he does like) therefore why sell him the answer being his contract situation and the fact he's made of crepe paper
  16. some merit in that post actually when you think about keane/kuyt (although he's a laughable figure to me, thank funk roeder never had to actually choose between him and obagoals), however both have shown in their careers they're very likely to play a hell of a lot more games than owen and presumably aren't getting paid anything like he does i just don't see how owens going to get fitter as he gets older, i just don't, and with a squad as tight as ours looks likely to be you can't afford to not be able to rely on 2 of your only 3 strikers due to fitness problems one of owen or viduka need "replacing" or "supplementing" right now imo as to cross our fingers they'll play a lot of games and assuming if they don't that oba can cover them on his own is wildly optimistic if owen had 3 years on his contract no-one would be talking about it but he doesn't and he's already proven his willingness to use his contract status to his advantage in the past.... imo he's walking for nothing
  17. 24 starts last season look just fuck off with your "facts" would you?

    The KK factor

So true, such shit is talked about Newcastle fans being fickle and how we expect to win the league/silverware. I think if you asked 99% of fans they would say we just want a team we can be proud to stand behind, a manager who approaches the game in the right way... and a club that's run not too make us the laughing stock of the league. It's hard to believe how much has changed from the previous regimes... I just hope KK is a bit more robust and mature now and can roll with the downs as well the ups. There's nobody like him, so he needs to stick around for a long time yet. not gonna hide the fact i was a big critic of his appointment for a number of reasons but i have to admit i'm not sure i'd swap him for anyone at the moment, and i mean anyone he's slowly but surely putting the pride back in the club (i think morts tenure helped there also i must say) and we'll eventually lose the 'laughing stock' tag...personally i couldn't agree with anything more than this: "I think if you asked 99% of fans they would say we just want a team we can be proud to stand behind, a manager who approaches the game in the right way... and a club that's run not too make us the laughing stock of the league." never met a toon fan in my life that cried about us not winning trophys personally, that's for wankers like manu, liverpool & arsenal fans to get excited about last point about KK - one thing that really worried me about him was his demeanour at man city before leaving, he looked and sounded broken then left the game for 3 years so i had misgivings about him...they've been blown away, particularly when i think of it like this; he's older and wiser than first time around and appears to have a much greater understanding of the game (defensively particularly but also handling the press/pressure etc...) now than he did first time here, PLUS he's obviously still got the ability to motivate players like he used to if he continues in this vein and gets the players he wants i reckon he'll be here 5 years easy
  19. aye not bad; get one of the religious radgies mid-monologue off to the side and maybe a pigeon sitting on top of colo's hair shitting on his shoulder! & a ronnie gill seller way off in the distance arguing turf with the big issue gadgie...! a right toon set piece, hm but then you'd need some charvers and all
  20. i'd sell him without a doubt for 10m+ even if we spent 15m on a replacement striker it's unlikely they'd be getting anything like those wages...then hopefully the replacement would be someone who's physically fit for the majority of the time, and someone of a decent age we could improve if owen had been fit enough to play even just 20 games a season for us since joining he'd have been a very good signing for the price we paid, as it turned out he's been nowhere near that nor looks to ever be able to acheive it IF we can cash in do so (big if though) if not then we're just gonna have to shit or get off the pot where he's concerned, i.e. pay the little glassman what he wants or take a gamble no-one else will meet his demands and he'll sign a contract near the end of the season on our terms
