    Kanoute

had a lot of injuries mind when he was here...particularly for west ham
  3. what the hell was the name of that cypriot again we had under keegan? nicky papadopoulos or summat? either scored or set up the goal vs man u in our inaugaural prem league season and then did very little else...
  4. I hope we got a sell-on clause. http://icwales.icnetwork.co.uk/0600soccer/0900cardiffcity/tm_headline=cardiff-target-striker-beattie&method=full&objectid=19307591&siteid=50082-name_page.html because sometimes £1400 million in the bank just isn't enough well, i always say so...me and joey barton
  5. edit came in after my post and i'm too lazy to delete it or whatever it is i could do anyways i liked clarence, tried like fuck despite the proposterous alice in wonderland hair band
  6. Mortified is stretching it. Good player with an awful lot to prove. He was poor in pre-season. Very poor. He did himself few favours then. Got the ability and if he had Milners work ethic and professionalism then he could be decent. Its up to him to show Sam he has the desire. Nb: It is of little consequence what other players do or have done. Its a new era and players should behave themselves. Freddie was right in his comments about him - he has done f*** all so far and playing the petulant tart was out of order. 20 years old and one of his role models at the club is a man who refused to play for the team and was rewarded with an 80k a week contract don't tell me that what other players do doesn't matter mate and it wasn't a new era when charlie misbehaved, it was the era of shepherd and total and utter unprofessionalism at every level of the club...why should he have behaved any differently? now i agree, it's a clean slate for everyone and it's time for them to get on or get off... Self discipline? Its pushing it to say that if its ok for one then its ok for another. It isnt. They all need to discipline themselves or get their arse moved elsewhere. Its a schoolkid excuse to say 'well he did it'. The new era is an interesting one as Sam has worked well with dodgy characters but he isnt the panacea. They need to look after themselves and get of their high horse. That is all of them. Like I say, its up to the kid to provide himself with some semblance of self-discipline. He can be mentored, shown the error of his ways etc. In the end, however, its up to him. He has the talent and from that point of view he is worth perservering with. If he cant discipline himself then like you say, he can go. That is the ideal world. We may not have the opportunity to sign a side of schoolboys. Lets face, some clubs are more attractive than us and we may end up with a few scrotes. seems we agree more or less what i'd argue is that it's ok to say "Its pushing it to say that if its ok for one then its ok for another" but basically that's how the club has been run in recent years players will have seen the disgracefully unfit dyer at the club being rewarded, bellamy pulling out of games (allegedly), bramble being a fat incompetent bastard and still getting games but more importantly for charlie the totally non-performing/unfit/disinterested/overpaid damien duff plodding around in the lads place we've ran the club with a number of players guaranteed games regardless of form for a long time and now i believe we have the manager to change that culture and thus i think it's clean slate time give 'em all a season (except dyer, babarapist and carr) and the judge them when we can say THEY'VE been judged correctly
  7. i take it we all know cordoba is colombian right?
  8. Did I say he he deserves anything or are you asking another fuckin stupid question? His contract stated that he could move if anyone offered £5.5m, he didnt ask for a move so legally he is entitled to his "loyalty" payment. But your oblivious "safe ground" and ridiculous strawmen obviously supercede legal frameworks I must be confused, I thought you were defending paying Barton £300k and yes, he did ask for a transfer, he had the option to not to talk to us and demonstrate the very loyalty he was being paid for, when in fact the little scrote jumped at the chance, and both he and city are laughing all the way to the bank get a grip man, he's at a club where he's been suspended and told he should leave a release clause is met and what? he's gonna say nah this is a right laugh here i think i'll stay and not play football again for the remainder of my contract.... jesus

  10. glad i remember it correctly, i'd had a few bevvies materazzi was playing for one reason, to get bellamy sent off, once he'd completed the task they put a better defender on...simple as that agree about cordoba as well he's class, similar to cannavaro to me, both small but both strong and rely on reading the game and timing to win the ball, not sly little elbows and calling people names to put them off!!! we could do worse than try and get him, only problem i'd see would be with the language....
  11. anyone remember the inter milan game at home, lost 4-1? my recollection of materazzi was basically he spent 5 minutes winding bellamy up, got him sent off, then not long after they took him off and replaced him with cordoba, a better natural defender and we never got much of a sniff after that...prior to materazzi going off we were making chances but when they put cordoba and cannavaro together we were finished no doubt materazzi has improved as a player with age but he just ain't that good, it's his other "strengths" he's at inter for...
  12. fact is we all know it'll be down to mackay fact is mackay works for barton fact is barton is patently not the brightest spark around fact is we know joey ain't been sitting there pouring over his accounts and the legal details of his contract demanding his 300k what we'd all LIKE to have seen was barton tell mackay just to forget it given the bad press he's courted recently but he's not done that for whatever reason we, as a club, have decided to pay it in order to push the transfer through presumably as allardyce believes that for 5.8m he's getting a very good player and it would stop west ham paying the 300k and getting him...at the end of the day based purely on football we swapped parker for barton and got 1.3m in return no-one comes out of this deal well in my opinion, not barton, mackay, man city or nufc so move on....
  13. true he's behaved badly but not as badly as a certain mr 80k a week dyer did eh? like you say fat sams a self-professed motivational genius so it obviously looks like running charlie needs an arm around him rather than being ignored and hardly given a chance to prove himself i'llbe mortified if the lad leaves like but as the other guy says it seem like that talk has died down now...?
  14. He feels he was, to be honest I don't think a player should get a loyalty bonus after putting a team mate in hospital. If there is a clause in his contract stating he will be paid £300k if he doesn't put in a transfer request and he abides by this then thats their fault and he wouldn't be the first and certainly wont be the last player to get what they think they are owed. i could be wrong but i thought that after the dabo incident man city suspended him and put him on the transfer list? did they not? surely they must have listed him? they wouldn't suspend him forever would they.... so if they did list him then wouldn't that have had a bearing? well it didn't obviously in the but maybe it SHOULD have done and would have had it reached court?
  15. agreed, get charlie playing football again and it's got all the elements a dynamic and flexible strikeforce eh? remember charlie season before last? time and again skinning fullbacks, going to the byline and cutting back...utterly made for someone with positional sense like owen we just need to get the lad motivated again
  16. He's hardly slow though is he? Not saying he's the paciest player around, far from it... but he's not slow. Hopefully Sam etc will help get a bit more pace out of him. think this whole debate mirrors what is a ahead for a lot of out existing players next season milner was all effort last season, he's got skill and tricks but when he does beat a man his delivery is often not good enough, it's almost like he's got his head up in order to beat the man then when he beats him puts his head in the sand and blindly crosses it anyway what i'm getting at it that milner, like others, will now be operating with a better manager and presumably coaching/fitness/backroom staff therefore i'd expect improvement in all areas from him except perhaps effort, where he was never found wanting there's a lot of understandable talk about buying players right now but there's a little too much about replacing players we already have who SHOULD improve next season (running charlie, martins for example) - milner is 21 or whatever and one of the brightest talents knocking about for his age, i think we should be harnessing it not replacing it For someone whose delivery is often not good enough his stats are bloody good over the last 2 seasons, especially when you consider half the time he has been lucky to have ONE of his one players to aim at. The amount of times last season he has swung in a good ball and Martins is hanging on the edge of the box and no other fucker has thought to attack the cross is crazy! aye fair comment, a lot of the time the quality of his ball is good but the box is empty...but that's what i mean about blindly hitting crosses - the lads got quality but he needs to have a look at what he's aiming for, especially as you say when martins is looking for a cutback so he can belt it fat viduka should help him there, plus goal hanging wee mickey ain't too bad at finding space for a header when his legs work!! Owen's actually quite deceiving in the air, Martin has a great leap and a solid head, just awful timing and positional sense to attack them properly. Sibi was the man to aim for, but if you are looking for a slow player to have a pop at (not you personally) this would be the man, and the reason Milner couldn't find anyone with his crosses. Milner on plenty of occasions had to even wait for Martins to catch up nevermind Sibi the turtle, Milners brain works quicker, therefore he steals a yard on people before even touching the ball imo, and i saw plenty of times last season he was even waiting to cross to Martins who is one of our fastest players. nail on the head about milner; the brain and speed of thought... he's an einstein amongst kieron dyers and titus brambles!

  19. nowt wrong with that hearts kit that couldn't be fixed by putting the umbro badge level with the crest
  20. totally spot on about the lack of interest in other matches like - i work offshore and there's fuck all to do at night usually...half the time i find myself switching off the match (we basically get every match going here) and watching a film like if the toon aren't on, there's just no incentive 'cause most of the matches are simply too awful to watch
  21. so does anyone know why it changed?
  22. That's what I was thinking, would depend on what the club do when the expansion starts though I guess. interesting thing on that wikipedia thing which was something about being able to build the gallowgate up to level 7 also, which we know, but then about joining the roofs of the leazes and gallowgate in order to make it look better and squeeze in some more executive boxes it wasn't saying it's gonna happen just that it's an option as a development thing due to the listed buildings behind the east stand i'd never heard that before, be interesting to see what it would/might look like eh?
  23. could put one at the back of the east stand like, although it'd not do everyone obviously
  24. from wikipedia, if true: "While the name of the stadium does not take an 's' after the apostrophe, in earlier years it generally did; indeed match day programmes printed up until the late 1940s have it written as St James's Park. The name now is officially St James' Park, although the majority of people still pronounce it in with the additional possessive 's'." and "It is the only stadium in the FA Premier League to not have a scoreboard of any kind." i didn't know either, but then why would i? if the first is true i wonder what prompted the change?
