I understand a joint US/Mexican bid. The fuck is Canada doing in there though? -
We have an absolute shit team right now, we're hanging on by the grace of Rafa IMO. A manager can do wonders, and I fully understand Bradley did not exactly do that in his time in charge I would've however have wanted to see what Bradley could do with a transfer window to create his team as he's very fickle about his style of play, and going in you did not have players suiting his system - which in itself was a bad move by Bradley taking the job as he should know that. Once given the job, however right or wrong the process of him getting it was, he should've had some more time, even with the initial bad results/defence - especially as you replaced him with Paul Clement.

Crucified by the media for being American and only given 11 matches to change a squad full of s*** into not-s*** No matter how many times someone tries to argue Bradley was rightly sacked, it will always be bullshit. Should he have been hired in the first place? Now that's a different argument, and that one could be had properly. Sorry, but your showing yourself up as someone without a clue. There was never a backlash against him being American, he could have been a Martian as long as we played decent football. Although his appointment was because the new American owner's wanted an American manager. You said earlier he had a good record in Europe, can you point me out to that, because I read his record, although fairly decent he didn't stand out. Most of his management was in America or for National teams, his league teams were small Scandinavian or French second division (equivalent of 4th division here). If you say he had a great record, then I can imagine you'd welcome Russel Slade, Gary Johnston or Steve Evans appointed as Newcastle's manager. He wasn't a young up and coming manager, could accept a young manager who's been showing great promise but not a ling at the tooth manager who'd never managed at the top level in the league. I've literally gone through it in this thread multiple times already You should've stuck with Guidolin though. I agree with that. If I had to pick between Clement and Bradley, I'd pick Bradley. If I had to pick between Silva and Clement, I'd pick Silva. If I had to pick between Silva and Bradley, I'd pick Silva. If I had to pick between Bradley, Silva, Clement and Guidolin, I'd probably pick Guidolin.

Again, I'm not saying he wasn't hired by the Yank owners because he was a Yank. I fully believe that was the reason he was hired. My argument is that compared to many other appointments in the bigger leagues in Europe, it wasn't a bad one - yet he was faced with instant hate from both fans and media. The fans wanted him out immediately, it's hard to turn around a team where you're immediately hated The fans and media seemed to approve of Clement, and yet he's not improved Swansea - and, as I've said, I think he had less qualifications to get a PL gig. Marco Silva is a comparable appointment, IMO. In that he's done enough in his career to deserve a chance, yet he was met with instant media hatred. Hence why I also want Hull to stay up and go on to be competitive to shut those fuckers up. Silva had won a fucking league title prior to taking over Hull FFS.

I'm not disputing that at all. My frustration is with the people saying he shouldn't have been hired in the first place when you lok at all the bullshit hires going around the big four leagues. Eh? This whole thing started with you saying you hope they go down for how they treated him. That they looked hopeless with him in charge? They did. But he only had 11 games, and shit players. They still have shit players, and their new manager isn't doing much of a better job making them perform. The matches I've watched with Swansea this season they basically look just as hopless now as they did under Bradley. They should've given him the window, sacking him after eleven games was nonsense - and it came about due to fan pressure due to him being American and the media hating Americans saying soccer.
-
You're all getting stuck up on something else than what the argument is about. I'll fully accept being too enthusiastic about defending his appointment, but the stats and past experiences from his career still doesn't lie. He deserved a chance at a top gig, though he went on to squander it.

I really hope you stay up, you have always been a likeable club, normally play decent football, and I'm moving to Swansea in a few months, so I'd be handy if both Newcastle and Swansea were in the Premier League. I really, really, hope they go down for the way they treated Bradley. I'd say Swansea were fairly vindicated in the way they treated Bradley like Absolutely not. One of the managers with the best records in Europe when it comes to sorting out shitfuck teams into good teams (albeit not in the four massive leagues) and he was not even given a transfer window before being replaced by a manager with no record to speak of. This is a mental statement. Nah, give me five others that have taken teams on shoestring budgets consistently into title fights in the past few seasons? Based one one stint in the Norweigan league? Consistently as well? Weapons grade horseshit. French Ligue 2 as well. He also made the US national team look competitive, only for Klinsmann to f*** that s*** up. Egypt as well, for one. Finished 4th with Le Havre in the French second tier in his only other managerial stint in Europe and you've claimed he's one of the best in Europe in such situations. Utter bollocks I'm afraid. Half a season in charge, completely turned them around. Left them in a good position, now lingering mid-table without him. Stabæk went on to narrowly escape relegation without him and look a complete mess.

Not saying that international management similar to club management, but his past experiences clearly qualifies him for a role as Manager of Swansea much more than many others. I'm not saying he didn't fail at the job in his 11 matches. I'm saying he's a more astute appointment than the likes of Solskjær for Cardiff - to take a comparison from a manager coming in from the same league backrground. His background should also inspire more than someone that's mainly been an assistant and failed at his only head coaching gig. That his eleven matches in charge at Swansea was a mess isn't something I'm disputing.

He turned both those teams around in spectacular fashion and had them playing good football, man One of them had no budget as well.

Paul Clement had only been an assistant coach and had a failed season as head coach of Derby before Swansea. A straight up comparison between them and Bradley already has the most merit (as a manager) for being hired for that job.

His average PPG prior to Swansea was 1.69 Discounting what Bradley has done in his career is plain dumb. He's proven himself in smaller leagues, why shouldn't he get a go in one of the big leagues? Isn't that what people have always wanted? Managers to go the long way around? Should just hand any open managerial gig in the big leagues to Giggsy tbh, he's played for Man Utd. I understand that people are angry at the owners probably hiring him just because he was American, as they themselves are American. They probably have the right to be annoyed because of that. My issue is that people are saying he'd never be good enough for a gig like that and hadn't earned his stripes. It's just bullshit. He'd earned his stripes 100% more than when for instance Solskjær was handed the Cardiff gig based on a playing career and two god seasons in the Norwegian league. Yet the press and people at that time were just "Aiight, let's see what he does then. He's played in the Prem. Well done, son."
