In terms of a spectacle it's dog s*** outside of Man City and Spurs at the moment. Liverpool and Arsenal are ok to watch but their style is hyped up. After that there's there's nothing, and far too many managers are getting credit for being organised and defensive and nothing more, it's the easiest way to play. Name a better league in terms of entertainment? There’s only one decent game in the Spanish league and that’s El Classico. Series A is shit, the Dutch league is shit, the French league is shit, there’s only one game worth watching in the German league. For pure entertainment and unpredictability the PL is the best in the world, hence why it’s watched all over the world. Has more to do with availability and hype. Once the Bundesliga became readily available over here, the interest in it has skyrocketed. The top English league has been on over here since the 60s or something, it's not because it's the most entertaining league. It's because it's always been available, and that's why most Norwegians follow English teams. It's what we've all grown up being familiar with, and up until recent years we had more English games on TV every weekend than we had Norwegian games.
  2. Weird comment to make anyway since the stadiums took less people.

The current England is shit regardless (compared to the other "big" nations) for now. Think in four years time when the young players have some more experience you'll possibly be in a position to challenge for a WC, but it all depends on how well those talents are nurtured. That said, going by past examples, they don't get nurtured well. Think a major issue is that none of your players go play outside of England and would rather pick up their massive paychecks laying for Man City reserves than aspiring to win trophies with clubs that might not pay as much. Development just halts for these players, and the cycle begins anew with young hungry players coming up, doing well, getting bought by big PL clubs giving them fat paychecks to play for their reserves removing all ambition and hunger in the process.
  4. Ødegaard starting to look like he might just live up to the hype.
  5. Who the the white dude playing?
  6. England and Germany B teams were playing, plus sometimes the ‘Beckhams, Maldinis, Zidanes, Ronaldinhos and Figos’ aren’t really lauded until towards the end or even after their career. If the current crop of English players, I wonder how Kane, Dele Alli, Dier will be remembered? There are surely a number of big name French, Italian, Brazilian, and (one) Portuguese players who stand out of the current crop. I'm not really talking about players being gifted and lauded for their ability, more their actual fame levels outside of the average football watcher. I fail to think of many outside of Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo that peple not that interested in football would see today and still be all "Oh yeah, that guy, I know who that is", where just a few years ago the footballing world were littered with profiles that (personal experience) people who hate football knew begrudgingly who was.

Think you have to call up three keepers due to FIFA rules or something.
  8. Is it just me, or is there a lot less "amazing" (maybe high profile is a better descriptor) footballers around these days? I mean, just a few years ago I could look at the big countries starting elevens and immediately see one or two massive profiles in their squad. Looked at the England - Germany squads today and didn't really see any name I'd say is a massive profile. Same goes for the outfield players of Italy. Obviously they are good players, but there's not that many Henrys, Beckhams, Maldinis, Zidanes, Ronaldinhos and Figos knocking about anymore, in the sense that even people who don't really care for football would recognise them on "brand awareness" alone.

Because the British Empire didn't do pretty much the exact same thing but on a global scale. Not sure if serious. About World War II apparently not being atrocities on a global scale. Not that the British didn't starve 29 million Indians to death and shit.
  10. Toldo Cannavarro Davids Zidane Inzaghi And the last £5 go in my pocket.
  11. I think Amazon should buy what they get offered.
  12. Think it's more about the impact Maradona had on his teams vs the impact Messi has had rather than pure technical skill, tbh. At least that's how I see the argument.
  13. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/unmotivated-neymar-missed-psgs-5-11484959 Neymar is «unmotivated» because of the shit quality opposition in Ligue 1 and the low crowds and only wants to play CL and against «good» Ligue 1 teams
  14. I remember really liking Traore, but then he went to Poland and Turkey and just wasted his career.
  15. Greg missed a week and is 10 points in front of me
  16. "Let's sign an unemployed manager!" "Sure thing, dildo kings. Tomas Tuchel? Laurent Blanc? Paulo Bento? Pepe Mel?" "Get us Moyesey, son. Get us Moyesey." "..." "Oh, while you're at it. Let's throw one of the Nevilles in there for good measure."
  17. Two teams. Both defensively oriented. One team is capable of scoring goals. One team is not. Very dull 1-0 or 2-0 to Man Utd.
  18. I like how Man Utd lends us their goalkeeper to help stop the rape but then our own squad holds a mutiny.
  19. Not that I can recall. Make one.
