Idiotic not playing the Krul "super penalty saver" card. Set up the mind game perfectly if they put him on again in the sense Argies might have thought "oh shit it's the penalty keeper". Instead they keep on the keeper they told the world was not good enough for penalties a few days ago. As much as Van Gaal was lauded for his Krul trick, he should be scrutinised the same amount for his shit choice this time around. All that said though, I'm happy the Argies made it through. Hope the Germans will steamroll them in the final, though.

I stood up together with a majority of the stadium to applaud a 7th goal, Klose being subbed off and a national team that had just gone into the history books for all the wrong reasons in probably the darkest day of Brazilian football. It has nothing to do with moral high ground or whatever you think and all down to do with the fact that a big part of this country has shown the world that all their pre-conceived ideas are wrong. Also, people saying this is the end of Brazilian football comparing a 200 million populated country to the island of yours. We are the biggest nation in footballing history, between our third win and 4th win it went 24 years, we will have some great players maturing for Russia and there's no doubt in my mind that we'll win it. As for the Neymar, I don't see what's wrong with holding a shirt of an injured player? This squad has been known for being extremely close (except in midfield where they apparently play like there's 200miles between each other) and Neymar was a big part of the team. He carried us past the group stage and without an injury against Chile we would've seen the best of him in the quarter finals and semi finals. We'll be back, just like Germany once disappeared and came back and just like Italy does every 24 years. If he was dead it'd be okay. What they're doing now is just telling the world that Neymar is much bigger than the team and more important than the 11 out there at that time. He might just be, but the players shouldn't tell the world they agree. It's well worthy. You completely missed the point, they'd do the same if it was fucking Oscar or Fred. It's about the team, I've seen teams do the same when players have broken their legs and had other injuries. This happens quite often with a message of support. It's also different because he was unable to leave his home to watch at the stadium because of a fractured back. They just wanted to show him how much he means. ''Dead'', like we in life should only pay tribute to dead people ffs. Well, yeah. You don't fucking tribute a living, breathing, player in that way. You're putting Neymar way above Brazil as a unit, and it's deterimental. Both the team and the press seemingly spent the lead-up treating the match like some testimonial, and it got them a testimonial scoreline. The biggest and best tribute to Neymar would be playing on, and winning the world cup, and then praising his contribution to the team for helping them get there. I'm not going solely against the shirt holding, but the entire run-up full of self-loathing "the rest of the team sucks - we'll lose without Neymar" all over, and then the team basically say they agree by putting Neymar above the team. Why not hold up a shirt with the player replacing Neymar up, saying "hey, we trust you as much as we trust Neymar. You can do it!". That's what a team should do. Appreciate the entire team. Not worship one player.

I was wondering why your team had died. -
Utterly unbelievable. The club must be laughing their f***ing tits off. Have a look at Ryder's transfer page in the chronicle. a £10m price tag was suggested for Sissoko and the first fan to write in says he's not worth £5m. No wonder Ashley's taking the p*ss. He says £5 doesnt he? We have some right morons though For me, at the minute and for the foreseeable future it's simply: having players > not having players Absolutely no guarantee if and when anyone will be replaced, if at all and for the most part with our few 'good players' the replacement due to the nature of our extremely limited transfer scope is going to be poorer than the outgoing player for the most part and will need the adaptation time to the league. 100% this. We are in absolutely no position to scoff at incoming transfers. Yeah, it's s*** that the club's not setting the bar higher, but between having a full squad of mediocre players or being stretched thin at 4 positions, I'll take the former. Sadly we're still likely to end up with a combination of both scenarios. Big picture, Pardew is in charge of transfers. If he does poorly there's a slightly less slimmer chance of him getting hooked. I don't want us to sign anyone. Pardew buying a lot of s*** players would set us back years IMO. as illustrated by by the fact we can't give obertan away. Imagine a team packed with Carlton Coles, James Tomkin's and Rob Elliot's. http://media.giphy.com/media/mxBPGsq86gOo8/giphy.gif

As he arrived: Stabæk: "Bob knows Freddy. He's worked with him in the past and told us the potential is there and that he is the right man to get it out of Freddy. We are excited." Freddy: "I think this is the right move for my career. Bob Bradley is the best manager I've had and I hope I will do enough to warrant a place in his squad and reignite my career." After two weeks: Stabæk: "You can go now Freddy. " Freddy: ""

He didn't get a contract after his two week trial at fucking Stabæk, man. Stabæk, the club with Bob fucking Bradley as their manager.

Not sure that's true. Never seen the keeper subbed for a shootout. I've done it on FM a few times. I'm a genius.

Thank fuck Tippeligaen is back or I'd be well broke.

That's because it doesn't exist. Praised for a 0-0 draw to the weakest side in the knockout stages They hit the woodwork, what 3 times? Tbf. Its also pretty creative & bold to devise the penalty strategy that he did aswell. Let alone to put all of that on a guy who has no history of being good at saving penalties, very confident stuff & he got it right. Pretty impressive for me. Against Costa Rica. Couldn't score a goal in 120 minutes lol. They sat very deep and only conceded twice vs Uruguay, Italy, England, Greece (120 minutes) and the Netherlands (120 minutes) tbf. You either give them credit or ridicule us as well as those other 4 teams for not being able to find a way through. I'd be inclined to do the former in this case. I'll ridicule heralding a draw with Costa Rica and calling the man responsible for this a genius Is laughable. Take the result and performance in isolation and it wasn't a great game or performance from the Dutch English or Italians for that matter. This attitude is so annoying. The underdogs can never perform well, it's always the top dogs performing badly. f*** off with that s***. Costa Rica have played well, strategized well and gotten results. Give the poor f***ers some credit, man. We can both agree that the Dutch have better players right? And I'm not taking anything away from Costa Rica here just stating that the Dutch performance was sub standard and we shouldn't be heralding van Gaal as a result of it It's not always about the better players though, as evident in our own Newcastle when we do well against better opponents and the media go "Well, X Team had a bad day, that's why Newcastle won" (though tbf, that's pretty much the truth these days ) Agree about the Van Gaal bit, mind. But apparently it has been their plan to sub keepers all WC if it went to pens, not just for this match. So in that sense I think the move itself was a bit genius, but I agree we shouldn't praise Van Gaal for masterminding a 0-0 against Costa Rica. Just as we shouldn't denounce the part Costa Rica played in masterminding just that 0-0.

Would've been so much higher on this if I'd noticed I'd made the error of putting Nigera 1st and Argentina 2nd in their group.
