If the knee was high with the intent of injuring the other player it's a sending off, just don't think (from the replay) Neuer had even clocked the Argentine coming right at him. Crazy. The only path to the ball is through the player. They're both coming in at high speed. When Neuer goes up the Argentine is still a bit away. He's not going through the player until after he's hit the ball, when the Argentine reaches the spot he was running and they crash.

Going back to my earlier bewilderment by "experts" saying Brazil didn't even have a top ten side of all teams qualified for the WC on a player by player basis, I kind of think I agree now. I mean, you got the obvious superstars in Neymar and Thiago Silva. But beyond Neymar, you got fucking Fred, Hulk and Jo. The depth players aren't all good and shiny, and it might be the worst incarnation of Brazil I've experienced (only considering players - not teamwork or anything) of all the WCs I've seen.
