  1. Arsenal are pretty much the only "top" side I can stand these day, purely down to the way they play football and don't have too many OTT cunt supporters. Which is why I'd like to see them win it. Also because they focus more on bringing through youth stars than buying massive names, albeit they have their days of signing big names, it's just not as often as the other cunt clubs.

I predict days of amusement and at least two bans happening in this thread should we not manage to sign him, all hell would break loose in here.

Awesome post from the first page. Just 13 pages off target now, let's keep talking nonsense and get there, people!
  4. Right call, you can't just run through the goalie. What was not right was the way the play was restarted. I've watched it back, the defender kind of bumps into him and his momentum takes him through, not sure what he's supposed to do to be honest. Not sure if Howard would have saved it even if Pato hadn't gone into him. Ball hadn't crossed the line when Pato went into Howard, hence it's the correct call as it makes Howard unable to attempt a save (even if it may have gone in regardless). Had the ball crossed the line first, it'd been a wrong call. It's quite easy, really.
  5. I'm so fucking happy I didn't put £70 on the US as I was thinking about before the match. So fucking happy.
  6. It's silly season, of course this shit again.
  7. I'd bet on it being either Moa, Rindarøy, Våge Nilsen or Pedersen should it be a well known Norwegian. Probably just some random youngster, though.

I didn't know, thanks for telling me That's ok, just thought you needed a nudge in the right direction. Football is not a matter of life and death, it's more important than that.
  9. Means Wellbeck is back on the loan market as there's a one loan limit between Prem clubs, no? Nah, it's only 1 per parent club. I think they're allowed 2/3 alltogether. Then FM is lying to me saying you can only loan one player from another Premier League club. Hmm..

Would be surprising seeing how he's in Norway with France. Edit: Belo
  12. Stats show that the boost is mainly felt in the club with the new manager in their second game.
  13. I had to google that just to see his list, and O'Neill seems to be number 4, after Eggen, Capello and Benitez, and before del Bosque, Cuper and Houllier. Seems reasonable enough. I stand corrected, memory must've been shoddy at 8 in the morning. Went back to check the paper and here's the list: 1. Nils Arne Eggen, Rosenborg 2. Fabio Capello, Roma 3. Rafa Benitez, Valencia 4. Martin O'Neill, Aston Villa 5. Vicente Del Bosque, Besiktas 6. Hector Cuper, Valencia 7. Gerard Houllier, Lyon I also like how he says the Rosenborg team he played for in 99/00 was better than the current Villa team. I mean, why the fuck is he sucking up to a team he only played for for one season by basically saying bad shit about his current club?
  14. Could be something in that, the players not being too fond of him I mean. Read an interview with Carew in the paper on sat where he ranked the best managers he'd played under in his opinion, with O'Neill getting last place on his "list".

  18. How do you rate Nordtveit's chances to get a look in this season if you don't get in a new CB, Gash?
  19. Not sure if I rate Bob Bradley or not yet. He did wonders with USA, but was that more to do with him tapping into Patriotic Pride over ability? I honestly have no idea, know very little of his work. Though he does seem to be one of the most succesful coaches domestically and internationally for the US. Yanks are obsessed with tactics, though. Especially on the coahcing side of things. I'm amazed there's been very little American managers coming to try their ability in Europe, and would love to see how Bradley would do at Villa out of sheer curiosity how the tactical approach from the Yanks would work in the big leagues. Can't say I've ever been inspired by any tactical insight from an American coach yet (MLS or International football). The good tacticians are usually stuck managing college sides for some reason.

  21. MLS is the standard of a European "second tier quality" league tbh. i.e. Scando leagues, Scottish league, Ukrainian league and so on. IMO. It's Henry that's playing cack. I'm aware of what standard the MLS is, to say its second tier quality is generous, perhaps the top players are, but teams overall, not too sure. Ljungberg had his one decent game a season today. I watch the MLS almost every round due to being a nocturnal bastard, and I also watch the odd random European league match-up from time to time because, well, it's football. Combined with watching the Scando leagues often I'd no doubt say the better MLS teams would slide in easily. The lesser teams would probably struggle. The issue with the MLS and overall player quality is that they have very small squads in the first place, which usually means a mixture of say, 30% good players and 70% filler. I dare say you know all this already, but yeah. On topic though, Henry have been nothing but shocking since he came over IMO. He should boss the league even on the decline.
