  1. I mean, with what you're saying essentially any of the players that don't usually take penalties shouldn't have to take one? Plus, bar free kick takers I doubt anyone trains more on ball placement/kicking than goalkeepers.
  2. Why? It's just as fair as both GKs take one
  3. Love an underdog win. Fuck the Super League.
  4. Not sure. But what is sure is how many decisions VAR refs in England get wrong even with the benefit of analyzing video. To me the amount of decisions that are made wrongly by VAR refs is much less prevalent outside the PL, which makes it feel like there's a quality of ref issue more than anything else.
  5. Risk vs Reward isn't it. A pen shootout is essentially a 50/50 shot, whereas attacking (and thus exposing themselves defensively) with few minutes left has a higher risk of failure than just kicking the ball about until you get the 50/50.
  6. Not gonna argue too hard as I've not watched too many games this season, but generally in Europe and other top European divisions it seems like the VAR refs actually knows the rules and therefore there's less issues. Not that there's no issues, just that there's less.
  7. Didn't it burn down or get flooded at some point and due to the team not being good anymore they just didn't really fix it? Think it's the second oldest stadium in professional football (in Italy) as well iirc.
  8. Only really feel there's major issues in the PL. Possibly to do with the poor standard of referees in England.
  9. Probably better in here: Just seen Venezia or Cittadella will be promoted to the Serie A tomorrow. Both teams with stadiums in the 7.5k capacity range. Venezia not been in the top division for 20 years and Cittadella for the first time in their history, on the third lowest budget in the Serie B. Venezia has a rich owner so not that impressive, but fun to see teams like that make it all the way to the top division anyhow. Venezia having their stadium in old Venice and Cittadella having theirs within the medieval citadel. Fun trivia teams as well. I am entertained.

I so hope Lincoln make it up to the Championship due to it being the perfect starting FM22 save
  11. People in not liking change shocker. Not saying I prefer the new option, but change is inevitable. It is on us, the fans, to influence the change happening ( )
  12. He played his entire youth career as an AM before being converted to a CB/DM when he was around 17/18, made him a lot more offensive and comfortable on the ball than your average big and tall CB.
  13. I'm the opposite, away is away. No point in an away kit if it's not used away. Third kits are pointless however and I dislike them very much.
  14. Probably around mid-table PL quality with potential to be better in a harder league (or fall through in a harder league). Potential is there. Big and strong yet agile. Sometimes played as a playmaking DM in the national side. Could compare him a bit to Colo really, but taller. Time will tell if he can do as well in a big league but he's taken all the steps up well so far.
  15. So 5 out of 19 away matches then, great job for an away shirt
  16. Yes. We'd be the perfect stepping stone for him to either ruin his career or play well for a year or two and move on to greener pastures (if we remain in our status quo). Not that we'd afford him if we don't get bought since £16m is £4m more than our entire transfer budget this season.
  17. Bale in the beginning of the season looked like a League One player straight off his summer holidays at Blackpool. Took him ages to even look like he knew what a football was after all that golfing. Once he got going, though... Still a great player in there.
  18. Ajer is class though, type of player I'd like to see us buy if we get taken over. Young-ish up and coming that can make us a great side without us "buying" a great side.
  19. Planned to head down there in two weeks time to stay 14 days before entering the US, guess that's off the table at the moment

  21. From the WBA statement: "our goal of surviving relegation" Wouldn't the correct wording be "our goal of avoiding relegation"? To survive something surely it has to happen to you? You couldn't survive relegation before being relegated, no?
  22. If not "punishing the fans" mattered then teams wouldn't be relegated from point deductions due to their owners fucking up the club's finances. At least Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are still likely to get barred from the CL.
  23. The Bodø/Glimt -1 train is off to a great start with 2 for 2 so far
  24. Pardew's main fault was that he was quite obviously on the narcissistic spectrum. I fully buy that Pardew thought he was the king and thought he could do anything even if he clearly couldn't. Liking Pardew was essentially impossible, but I always had a minute sense of pity for him in that I didn't believe he actually knew any better due to his mental state. Pardew saying the stuff he did felt like he actually meant it no matter how insane what he said was, which is down to me believing he's a narcissist. Bruce is just a genuine asshole/bully that insults the fans with intent. I have no pity for him and genuinely dislike him.
