  1. The fans will have to get on with it as well if he stays tbh. If he goes on strike for competitive games then leave him to rot for 3 years, but pre-season friendlies? I agree it’s not good but I’m not that emotional about it.
  2. Rooney handed in a transfer request to go to their local rivals, players get rehabilitated all the time. This narrative that there’s no way back for him only serves Liverpool.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Who have we refused to sell anyway? We weren’t taken over that long ago, Isak only came here 3 years ago and no one has even bid for him. That nonsense is propaganda.
  4. It stinks of agent briefing so that he doesn’t get a bad reputation in the game. It’s pretty poor justification anyway.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If Van Hecke really is available for 43m and we don’t go for it, then I’m thinking we’re just not going for a defender this summer.
  6. If you take emotion out of the equation and only look at the facts, I don’t see how him playing for us again is so unthinkable. He’s dodged pre-season friendlies and obviously wants to go to another club, he hasn’t said he’ll never play for us again or refused any competitive games. If an acceptable bid doesn’t come in he’ll have no option but to do what thousands of players before him have done and get on with his job.
  7. I’m not sure I would’ve made a difference, it’s almost August and we haven’t received a bid for Isak. Plus we’ve been trying for expensive forwards all summer and failing anyway.
  8. I think tweets like that have a purpose, it’s designed to rattle Newcastle fans and make him playing another game for us too toxic to happen. All this media attention is ramping up the agro when the truth is not much is happening, it’s a bit of a stand off and Liverpool are looking very hesitant IMO.

He’s not exactly fast Van Hecke.
  10. If he does go I hope any add-ons are based on individual achievements like appearances and goals, and not on them winning trophies. I don’t really trust Slot to repeat what happened last season.

What are people seeing in Muniz? I doubt he even ends up as first choice at Fulham if he stays there.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I reckon Muniz is the worst player we’ve been linked to this summer. He’s basically used as fresh legs off the bench when Raul Jimenez is tired, and tbf he’s a decent athlete that scores a few goals. He doesn’t have much in the way technical ability or link up play. He’s not what I want starting CL games.
  13. The idea that Newcastle are expected to ask for a bid is absurd.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think Muniz is pretty basic personally, there’s a reason he’s backup to Raul Jimenez.

    Joe Willock

I feel bad for him but I saw no reason not to try and sell this summer. He’s out of form for 2 years and can’t be relied on to be fit. Another year of injury and there won’t be any value in a transfer.
  16. This is unfolding exactly as many of us said, we’re being used to encourage bids from other parties. Hopefully we’re also in talks with another target so we’re not starting from scratch again when we move on from this.
  17. We probably planned to go for Ekitike if anyone came in for Isak. Liverpool left it late in the window and took our replacement.
  18. Even if it’s true, he had 3-4 years left on his deal and the club has had no suitable offer on the table.
  19. That’s another thing we could do, buy a foreign club and sell the likes of Sanusi to them. We could sell 1 or 2 each summer.
  20. Fuck off, we’ll decide what we love, not some sky sports cartel promoting ponce.
  21. The media are excited by the arms race at the top while most of the league gets smothered by PSR.
  22. If that were true Real Madrid wouldn’t be waiting for contracts to run out.
  23. And what if Man U raise their offer? I’m not even saying that all financials being equal a player wouldn’t pick Man U, but we can’t get into a bidding war on transfer fees or wages with ESL clubs, we can’t win. Man U will always be able to top whatever we offer.
  24. It’s plausible that Newcastle can meet financials currently in the discussion, we obviously can’t keep matching the financials of clubs with much higher spending limits.
