This recruitment team can’t salvage it IMO. I’m writing it off.
-
We would probably need to replace him after a year or 2, he’s on his last legs. Meanwhile Villa will be eyeing up the next Morgan Rogers, a player I doubt we would have noticed or taken a chance on.
-
McGinn is an utterly shit idea that takes me back to signings like Butt, Smith, and Geremi. I would sack whoever even suggested it.
-
Love the idea of Villa flogging McGinn to us so they can fund buying some prospect they’ve scouted. This one has made me lose hope of us sorting our act out.
-
I believe that, I imagine we’d need to get rejected by a few before we end up at Thiaw. Surely Van Hecke and Brighton should be at the top of our rejection list.
-
If they’re rejecting a figure they’ve already accepted recently then forget it.
-
We were used from the start by the agent here, I don’t think we were ever being seriously considered. I wonder if a good DOF would’ve noticed early and pulled out.
-
Of all the Isak replacements we’ve been linked with Jackson is the one mostly likely to replace his goals. He’s fast, strong, and skilful, he just needs some refining. I doubt we go for both him and Wissa with it being an AFCON year.
-
We should give them until Friday to agree a deal for Kalimuendo or buy him ourselves.
-
The Saudi’s care far more about keeping good relations with ESL clubs than they do about doing us any favours.
-
I completely get why a player would choose Man U. Realistically they are going to spend big every year until they get it right, they’re always going to attract players. That said, we should bully them off the field when we play them and finish ahead of them this season, by some distance if we get what we need.
-
I’ve heard that this guy is a bit shit more than I’ve heard he’s good.
-
We’re still fighting for this transfer window. We can still get everything we need, we just need to show the same willingness with every other area.
-
If we weren’t so desperate I’d say we should pull out on principle.
-
I like Jackson. At this point I would bid for both him and Ramos and take whichever says yes first.
-
It’s possible that an Eddie coached Šeško will be better than a non-Eddie coached Isak. Our greatest strength is Howe’s ability to get the best out of players.
-
Checks. It’s August ffs.

Great, I can’t wait to see what else won’t happen over the next 28 days. Guehi is a waste of time.

Ramos is a fine alternative but we can’t afford to keep going through a list of strikers to the detriment of other areas. Give it this week to get an agreement for someone or make the decision that Isak is going nowhere until next summer.
-
Our Saudi friends are going to give them a stupid fee for Nunez so it would never happen. Hypothetically though, I’d take Nunez as a Wilson replacement, so that would mean dropping our interest in Wissa, and we would still need an Isak replacement. I’d consider it but I wouldn’t be biting their hand off.

We finished above them 2 seasons ago and there’s no guarantee their success last season will continue. Ekitike and Wirtz might not be great, and we’ll have to see how Slot does with his own team. They’re getting a lot of hype but there’s questions IMO. If we got our business done this summer then we’d be a genuine threat to the top 4.
