I don’t think it’s a crazy fee for Mbuemo given what other players are going for. The annoying thing is Man U fumbling everything year after year and still being allowed to spend huge amounts of money, while other clubs are told they aren’t allowed to compete financially, even if able to. If Mbeumo fails they’ll just buy another one, there’s no risk in anything for them.

I think we’re reluctant to commit to any more signings until we have a forward, and we don’t know if that forward will cost 30m or 80m. Once the situation is resolved I can see everything else happening fairly quickly, but there’s also a danger it’s going to drag out all summer. Personally I’d rather we moved on from Ekitike and got the numbers we need. If our scouts haven’t found a promising young striker abroad for less than 40m in the last couple years then they need sacking.

I didn’t watch a game. I don’t mind it happening or people enjoying it, but I can’t imagine seeing it as anything other than a pre-season tournament. The shovelling of more money into the pockets of a few clubs is a problem, but that’s a wider issue, UEFA have rigged the CL money in their favour as well.

If we’re in for Ekitike then I think the club is expecting Isak to go this summer. This is the first time I’ve considered it a possibility.

I think the chance that Guehi hasn’t already agreed to go to Liverpool either this summer or next is slim.

Howe seemed to lose confidence in our backup midfielders last season, so it would seem odd to not take the opportunity to shift one and replace him, especially with him in the final year of his contract. We’ll see if anyone offers more, I’m not sure it will happen.
