  1. The next world cup will probably have every shit popstar in the country on the field at the final whistle. I wouldn't be surprised if we pause for a Drake song before the cup is lifted.
  2. Jenas is so bland that I don’t think anything he says registers in my brain, so I don’t find it a hateful experience.
  3. I don’t have a lot of hope in him being part of things in the coming seasons tbh. We’ll sign a first choice replacement (hopefully in January) and he’s not suitable as a squad player.
  4. Winning looks like an emotional experience. Can’t wait for Gareth Southgate to lift a cup for us.
  5. Honestly, that France team winning would’ve left a skidmark on this WC.
  6. He’s an absolute weirdo. In the community shield he was talking about 2 alpha males coming to the premier league in Haaland and Nunez.
  7. I’d love to see Mbappe hauled off at some point in the second half.
  8. I hope France get absolutely paddled. They have no business being in this game.
  9. Were we really close this time though? I was happy enough after the France game, but then Morocco looked even better than us against them. Ultimately it’s another case of us beating a few teams that we should always beat. It feels a bit like we’re settling for someone that won’t win a tournament because he guarantees we won’t suffer a disaster like Iceland or not qualifying.
  10. International managers often get hung up on their favourites, preferring to stick with what worked last year or the year before. Then when it’s time for a step up in competition their selections get exposed, and suddenly they realise the truth of what a Fred is, but by then it is too late and they’re handing in their resignation. Obviously Fred isn’t very good, and Paqueta has made no impact in England yet, so to us it’s weird, but to Tite he was picking the players that won him games in the past. I’ve said with regards to England, the only way to really freshen up an international squad is to change manager. I’m sure with a new pair of eyes Bruno will leapfrog those two. Joelinton probably has more ground to make up, but I’m sure he will get his chance.
  11. He was always going to stay. His other choices were probably to get another job with the FA, go back to being a pundit, or get a job in the championship.
  12. Signs of the Moroccans losing their heads. This World Cup has missed that sort of thing,
  13. He’ll always be Jeff in my eyes.
  14. Images of fans crying is one of the underrated pleasures of big tournaments.
