I did unfortunately. Nothing about the game made me laugh other than the utter futility and uselessness of my country. Good, we managed to fortuitously qualify because of poor discipline from a bunch of players who play for a pittance in the backwaters of Africa. We have CIV next. I hope these players are ready to show something resembling talent and organisation in the next match or we will lose 17-2. Thank God for Victor Moses and Victor Enyeama. Glad Zambia have gone out. They should have lost against Nigeria if not for a ridiculous decision and their manager thinks far too highly of himself.

He's a twenty-two year old player who's contributed at big clubs for five seasons now and recently scored a brace in a European Championship semi-final. Regardless of your opinion of the player, the price isn't ridiculous.

Ronaldo has an uncanny knack for slipping sly personal insults into football arguments. It is his gift and curse.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle - 29/01/13 @ 7:45pm - Not on TV

Someone must go to this man's home and ensure his personal safety. This match is not a decider, but a loser is clearly in trouble. -
Suarez is one of my favourite players. In my opinion, there is nothing like having a brilliant player who is geninely a despicable, ruthless, and malicious person. I really enjoy watching him. It would be great if he left Liverpool, though, for any team in the world. Outside of him, they have a squad consisted of average players, many of whom are very similar to one another. He'd be very difficult to replace as their only exceptional footballer.

ACON group decider and this r******** six pointer on the day. I already have nerves. Tomorrow will either be a great day or an awful one. More than the actual quality of player we've brought in, I believe the excitement and optimism that have come with the signings will push us out of the doldrums and on the victory. 3-1 Newcastle. -
GOAL!! 2-1. Cape Verde are through as it stands!
-
Which are you watching? SA just scored again, so now if any one scores in the other match they are through. Mad.
-
Group A is very tense and tight. Cape Verde need a goal here and they would qualify and knock out the hosts, SA, who are losing to Morocco.

You have taken my words and said them in my place. We've picked up 8 points in fourteen matches since the middle of November. If lose the next match, Aston -25 goal differential Villa will overtake us. Everyone should calm down.

Hes fast as f*** he should be lurking behind defenders then busting on to the ball. No reason to be offside whatsoever. The only plus is he seems to be getting shots away and is actually passing the ball well now and with confidence. What gave you the impression that Cisse is fast? He's actually quite slow for a striker and has awkward, lanky style of running despite not being tall. It's not one of his better attributes. How many of his goals have come from running behind the defence?

Aye, he got beat in the air by N'zogbia ffs He had a wonderful moment against Wigan last season in the hammering. Got beat by a bloke a foot smaller than him. Victor Moses, yeah? Easily won, clean header from five yards out, with a six foot four defender in close contact the entire time. Both were standing still, and he was just dominated in the air. Surely, there is some technique he can learn to jump effectively.

So in the last month, Osaze has managed to have the coach kick him out of the national team and has now also fallen out with his club. He went on a very similar twitter rant against Stephen Keshi (Nigeria Manager) a few months ago. It seems to me there is definitely a problem that is originating with him. Anyway, I think he'll be playing for QPR or back in Russia rather soon.

In the PL credible competiton for places is the difference between the top 6 and the rest. We achieved top six last season despite a clear dichotomy between our first team "purple players" and our reserves. He has been awful for nearly the entire season. Whether you want to blame the coach, the player, or the style of play is a matter of personal opinion. The fact is that he has been one of the biggest deficiencies in the team this season, which is alarming given the form and ability he showed last season.

It's a bit like when Kinnear wanted to get M'Bia in his January window, and instead we got to witness the Kev and Nicky 'Outrun the Flash!' masterclass every week. Except this time we've got better players to start with and we actually got our man. And a marginally better manager. Nolan's actually ended up better than M'Bia if we a are honest, though. Whoever told that boy he was a midfielder shouldn't be in football, which is odd given that he was a good performer at Rennes.

West Ham are SIX points above us! I don't throw stones in glass houses and I certainly do not throw stones at clubs that are above us because those stones will be returned by gravity and smash us in the head.
-
If the players and manager had performed anywhere up to standard (lower midtable at the least) we could push on from this point. Alas, we can not change the past and must focus on our immediate future.

Niger are unbelievably terrible. I watched Mali-Niger and decided not to watch that team again. I don't understand how Northern Nigeria (along with Mali and Algeria) can produce such stars and Niger consistently gives nothing.

Which Signing (or Link) are you Most Excited About?
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Minhosa's topic in Football
Sissoko is the best player, but Debuchy and Yanga-Mbiwa can transform the team. Yanga-Mbiwa is better than Debuchy, so I suppose he is the one that excites me most. I cannot believe we have a window where Sissoko is the third best signing. It's good work by Carr, Ashley, and co. The squad was far from relegation standard anyway, but taking this current group down will be the worst managerial performance in the history of the sport (unless someone has been murdering their own players). -
One thing we can say now is that the allure of Premier League wages means that every player on every team in Ligue 1 other than PSG is someone that can be acquired by Premier League teams.

Brazilian television culture seems to be entirely predicated on sticking as many attractive women on television as possible.

Man handled  He went to get the ball, the boy wouldn't give it back and then fell on it for no particular reason. People keep acting like he was some small child as well. If you look at the video closely, you'll see he is actually noticeably larger than Hazard.
-
Man, I thought the kid was eight years old or thereabouts. What a horrible bastard of a ball boy.
-
That is disgraceful behaviour from that Swansea ballboy, btw. He has no right to actually prevent a player from getting the ball. Why is he even involved? Why is he fighting off a full grown man?
