Odd years. Every two years. In January. To avoid conflict with World Cup years. Two in succession is just an absurd moneygrab from a corrupt organisation.

They would probably be physically, emotionally, and logistically challenged when it comes to this match. They have a match three days prior in Equatorial Guinea that will be their third in 9 days not including intensive friendlies and training that accompany international competition. It is also unlikely that they would leave the same day as the match and it is a fairly long flight. They may very well be back on Tyneside in time for Wednesday, but not in condition to play straight away.

What of Millwall?

If Kadar goes on loan, he will probably just sign with that club on a free transfer if he is decent.

Obafemi Sunday? I would say that groups A and C are very weak at this tournament when compared to past incarnations. In 2008, we had Nigeria, CIV, and Mali in one group, 2010 had CIV and Ghana grouped together and really even groups like Cameroon, Zambia, Gabon, and Tunisia. Made the group stages more heavily anticipated and intriguing, imo. I guess this is expected with many famous teams missing. It will be interesting to see who comes out of Group D with Ghana. Mali have the most talent, but Guinea are generally pretty tough and will take you if aren't serious (as we found out). I don't know anything about Botswana, but they were fantastic during qualifying and this guy, Ramatlhakwane, has been scoring many goals.

Real Madrid are five points clear of "the best team in the world" 19 games into the season. None of their supporters should have a complaint. The team is a machine, and they've won something like 27/29 games this season that didn't involve Barca.

When they go find Goodyear blimp for Equatorial Guinea?

Helicopters move, though. This is a disgrace. Drogba is the only player I can differentiate from the others despite knowing almost all of the Ivorian players. It's is like playing FM 2007 for God's sake.

Best player in the league aside, this is an extremely poor attacking group for a game like this.

That is an incredibly demoralising result for Spurs. Could be the moment that sends their season into a downward trajectory.

 Amazing miss.

The US and UK have probably spent about 0.5 trillion pounds between themselves blowing up an Asian country with little relevance to the world stage. This is hardly the most egregious waste of resources. Though it is quite shameful that they have a GDP per capita ten times that of a nation like Nigeria, but relatively similar lives for the citizens. There is always doubt in African football. Sudan are a serious team and they fought to a draw in Ghana during qualifying. There only loss was the reverse fixture. I cannot believe that someone born five years after me is an international footballer, btw. Depressing.

If this stream plays an advert for overweight date again, I might have to stop watching this. Full credit to Redknapp btw, I expected Spurs to capitulate after going 2-0 down. Great resiliency.

Yeah, Libya are the only country in the tournament with a destabilising political situation. Them winning would be a positive boost for all of Africa.

Their only good players are strikers. They have quality players throughout the side, tbf. Niang is extremely comfortable out wide as well. Can't say I watch enough French footy to properly judge. Diawara at Charlton was though. Diawara at Marseille is Transpose Shola into a centreback and you have created him.

We didn't even qualify ffs. Their only good players are strikers. They have quality players throughout the side, tbf. Niang is extremely comfortable out wide as well.

Sensational set pieces there from Senegal.

Far too loose. Jeseus man have you seen Ameobi try to controla ball, pass a ball or shoot. Laughable. It's a good practice. Comparing everything to Shola's footballing ability so you can feel good about all the shit things in your life. This team has many failures and the inadequacies of our fourth choice striker are not particularly high on the list for me.
