  1. Real Madrid are five points clear of "the best team in the world" 19 games into the season. None of their supporters should have a complaint. The team is a machine, and they've won something like 27/29 games this season that didn't involve Barca.
  2. When they go find Goodyear blimp for Equatorial Guinea?
  3. Helicopters move, though. This is a disgrace. Drogba is the only player I can differentiate from the others despite knowing almost all of the Ivorian players. It's is like playing FM 2007 for God's sake.
  4. Best player in the league aside, this is an extremely poor attacking group for a game like this.
  5. That is an incredibly demoralising result for Spurs. Could be the moment that sends their season into a downward trajectory.
  6. The US and UK have probably spent about 0.5 trillion pounds between themselves blowing up an Asian country with little relevance to the world stage. This is hardly the most egregious waste of resources. Though it is quite shameful that they have a GDP per capita ten times that of a nation like Nigeria, but relatively similar lives for the citizens. There is always doubt in African football. Sudan are a serious team and they fought to a draw in Ghana during qualifying. There only loss was the reverse fixture. I cannot believe that someone born five years after me is an international footballer, btw. Depressing.
  7. If this stream plays an advert for overweight date again, I might have to stop watching this. Full credit to Redknapp btw, I expected Spurs to capitulate after going 2-0 down. Great resiliency.
  8. Yeah, Libya are the only country in the tournament with a destabilising political situation. Them winning would be a positive boost for all of Africa.
  9. Their only good players are strikers. They have quality players throughout the side, tbf. Niang is extremely comfortable out wide as well. Can't say I watch enough French footy to properly judge. Diawara at Charlton was though. Diawara at Marseille is Transpose Shola into a centreback and you have created him.
  10. We didn't even qualify ffs. Their only good players are strikers. They have quality players throughout the side, tbf. Niang is extremely comfortable out wide as well.
  11. Sensational set pieces there from Senegal.
  12. Far too loose. Jeseus man have you seen Ameobi try to controla ball, pass a ball or shoot. Laughable. It's a good practice. Comparing everything to Shola's footballing ability so you can feel good about all the shit things in your life. This team has many failures and the inadequacies of our fourth choice striker are not particularly high on the list for me.
  13. I actually meant Jonas and Ben Arfa. The latter is still far too loose with the ball, imo, but he is our best attacking player (with Ba and Cisse in Equatorial Guinea) by a completely ridiculous amount.
  14. The first goal was simply not a penalty, btw. It has initiated this collapse.
  15. I'll look back at those 25-30 minutes when we inevitably finish in the bottom half this season. Rubbish.
  16. Drogba would have been 25 during that transcendent season at OM. When Eto'o was 25, he scored the equaliser in the Champions League final, won the Pichichi, and was top scorer for the best team in the world. I like Drogba much more tha Eto'o, but the Cameroonian's consistency at the top level is astounding.
  17. Pele's a black Brazilian. You Africans and your clutching at straws. Abedi Pele. Father of Jordan and Andre Ayew
  18. They essentially lost the entire side except for Kalusha Bwalya, who is their best player ever. That team was easily one of the best in Africa at the time. Despite this, Bwalya led the team to the 1994 ACON final where they lost to Nigeria. Thier football never recovered. However, the team looked very promise at the 2010 edition and would have beaten us in the quarters if not for Enyeama being the penalty master (saved several and slotted the winner home himself). I would tip them to get out of that group and possibly beat CIV in the quarters. Interestingly, Gabon, the nation is which the plane crashed, is one of the hosts for this tournament.
  19. The Drog has never played for the best team in the world. Kanu 1 CL 1 UEFA CUP 2 PL 3 FA CUP 1 Olympics 2 AFOY Geremi 1 CL 2 La Liga 1 Olympics 2 ACON 2 PL The best African footballer ever is definitely Weah or Pele, imo.
  20. Be the old Spanish connection no? Bit like Angola and Portugal, Algeria and France etc etc. Theres about 10 countries supplying France's teams the last 20 years. Not quite. Almost all of these players are first or second generation immigrants. It is one of the benefits of being a colonial power. The Caribbean nations have as much claim to players like Rio and Ashley Cole as some African nations have on French players.
