  1. Real Madrid have played very poorly. Ridiculous how easy they were to break down considering how many they kept back to defend. If you are going to sit back, you have to be disciplined and alert.
  2. Real Madrid will still win this. The title has to go to the Bernabeu this season.
  3. I hve faith we'll get a goal in this match. We just have to make sure that is the last time Bolton score. We can still win this.
  4. Terry will still be recovering when they play us. Our forwards should trouble him with their great skill and pace....
  5. Chelsea's midfield three consists of an Englishman, a Nigerian, and a Ghanaian. These are not nations that produce "technically better" players. When you are dealing with the top level players they will be able to adjust. The problem rreally is Gerrard's unwillingness to do the dirty work (which he has the ability to do). If you play a three, then Lampard should be the most advanced with Gerrard operating in behind, similar to Iniesta and Xavi or Essien and Lampard. What England really needs more than anything is a high quality holding player. Maybe Huddlestone or Rodwell can become that. That's the key, really.
  6. Americans love the World Cup. That doesn't mean they care about football. There's a difference. Still, it would be a fun, vibrant event if they hosted and interest in the States would be very high.
  7. I was just about to post the exact same thing. If your midfielders are good, than their footedness doesn't matter at all. Especially if there are three.
  8. You could of guessed the nationality without even thinking. Shameful, corrupt embarrassment of a country.
  9. "(Quality Defensive Midfielder) is useless. Most of his passes are sideways and no more than ten yards." Right. Come back when you understand football.
  10. My problem with Gabby is that he's been around for 3-4 years now, and hasn't progressed too much for me. I don't think he'll ever become more than he is, which is a good player, but not great. He's one dimensional, imo.
  11. Fwiw, this is hardly "The FUTURE OF FRANCE!". Nearly everyone who started is an established first team player who has been capped before. Everyone on there lineup, other than M'vila and Rami, is a starter for a Champions League side
  12. Was actually really impressed with Yokoyama's goal untill I realised that they were girls, which btw, took too long for my comfort. It's easy to spot as because they're so s*** she actually manage to do what she does it must be women's football. Hardly an achievement as women's football isn't a real sport. I don't understand all this nonsense about women's football not being a "real sport". It's clearly a sport, just not one that you enjoy. They don't really need to change the rules, they just need the general level of the players to improve, which will occur if the sport spreads and becomes more popular. I really don't think any of the problems with the game at current are to do with physical limitations. As for goal size, there are plenty of six foot tall girls about and it is not as if the scores are significantly higher than men's football except when poor teams play top teams.
  13. 19-20 year old midfielder who's been in Rennes first team for two seasons.
  14. What are those noises coming out of Pienaar's mouth?
  15. Will be interesting to see if SA return to being a below average African side after their World Cup rejuvenation. Actually, I was looking forward to it, but then I realised they were still blowing those Goddamn horns. I should go do something constructive instead of listen to this.
  16. Given the blatant corruption and match-fixing that proliferated WC 2002, I would be surprised if FIFA ventured to either part of Korea in the near future.
  17. Would it? There's larger portions of America where it would not be preferable to play for 90 minutes during midday in mid June. If they were to start at night, it would inconvenient for Euros, especially on the Western Coast.
  18. Anybody but Russia. If we qualify, I'd hope rather not have massive banana posters at our matches. I know that's a bit ridiculous, but I was very displeased with not only the events surrounding Osaze's departure, but how it was handled and dismissed in that country.
  19. You guys have issues with Webb and Clattenburg too? Have you seen the decisions Webb gives against us everytime he refs our games. How he's still allowed to ref our games is a complete joke. Are you expecting the FA to ban him from matches involving Tottenham because of perceived injustice from angry fans with an inferiority complex?
  20. Because Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, and Mali are putting their youngplayers through world class training facilities and top class coaching. We cannot even build roads correctly, yet we breed footballers.
  21. Why are India so bad at football anway? At least China has made a few decent players. There's three or four billion between the two nations and with such a young population, you'd figure a decent percentage would be fit males who enjoy football.
  22. Honestly, I just like reading this thread to see the slow and steady depreciation of dj's mental state.
  23. Are you suggesting the FA should fine Chelsea for fielding an under-strength side? We should. It's giving unfair benefit to Sunderland in the North East league table.
  24. Essien and Lampard are definitely not playing. So Zhirkov and the rubbish Brazilian will still be in CM.
