I still have no idea why Luiz felt the need to kick Dempsey when he wasn't going anywhere. Just a stupid, impulsive thing to do.

Essien is finished.

He offered a fair bit when compared to our other strikers, tbh (for 2.5 seasons at least, imo.). The problem was that his offerings were erratic, individualistic, and dangerous to our team at times. His pace and running, and athleticism were our only outlet before Jonas came. As I said back then, he's not the player you want to be relying on as your best attacker. -
Unless they make a good run in the CL or mount a run at Lille, he will probably be gone at the end of the season. The great side of the last decade is gone, OL have been struggling for some time now.

Teemu Tainio greatly disagrees with this sentiment. Femi is what he is and was what he was. There were many negatives to go along with the positives, but I thought he was a fairly productive and good player for us. Sure he can be partially blamed for the relegation in 08-09, but he was one of the only reasons we stayed up for the two seasons previous. I hope he has grown to a point mentally, where he doesn't feel the need to make a fool of himself if he scores Tuesday evening. -
I think they'll actually take this title. I can't see OM or the others putting together enough of a run. Just a completely awful Ligue 1 season, imo. Everyone is so average and/or under performing. Gignac is finally looking good, though. So, this is nice.

I had no clue Luca Toni was playing for Juve. I assumed he had retired. Decent match so far, though.

Why loan Aiyegbeni if you have no intention of replacing him in the same window? Do they have that much faith in Gueye?

That looks like it could be the national stadium for any number of insignificant third world countries.

I don't know, if you are going to make the Premiership into an obscene money pit, you have to make sure there is adequate hep for clubs that fall out of it.
-
I trust him just as much as anyone else at this club to put the ball into the back of a football net. He has a part to play, and it's a shame we don't have an FA cup tie or something where he can get a run on the pitch.
-
He looks extremely old and beaten, but I think he'll provide more goal threat than Lovenkrands. That is all we need, really.
-
I have to say, I have never understood these sort of things. He clearly does not have the talent to compete at that level of play, and allowing him to do so only devalues the competition. I appreciate that it must have been a great moment for him, but it all seems very cheap.

Pretty sure Lampard scored a penalty or something there during the Chelsea-Barca matches in 2005-2006.

Players missing international duty to be banned from next club match?

Ash, this idea is like slitting the jugular vein because you have fever. It solves little and exacerbates issues. -

Clubs should be disciplined if they are found to be tampering with player's international duties. The decision should be made by the player. The amount of lying and deceit that the "smaller" nations have had to deal with in the past is ridiculous. I am perfectly fine with players not wanting to come, but the manner in which the clubs influence them is troubling. -
The best shot stopper in England, imo. It's a shame he can't stop doing stupid things, though. It holds him back.

What were they called before? The incompetence of African FAs when it comes to making friendlies. Once again, Nigeria had a long-planned friendly in America that fell apart in the last minute and is now stuck playing Sierra Leone. How can we hope to succeed on the world stage without being able to do simple things?

I don't see the harm of offering Ewerthon and 1.5 year contract if he looks alright. A bit of financial security for him, and still very low risk for us.
-
I've edited it. The first one was supposed to be Lucas, who I think is rather good.
-
It's ridiculous to call Gilberto Silva and Lucas "nothing players". Just because he doesn't seal dribble around the pitch all match does not mean he isn't doing anything. Composed, clean, and strong midfielders are an asset for anyone. Denilson is rubbish, though.
