It's ridiculous that Ranger is already being written off by some on here. when Carroll was 19 he off being a failure at Preston and didn't score a senior goal until 20. Now he has established himself as a relatively important first team member. Depending on what time of day he was born, Mr. Ranger may be 18 or 19 right now, he has plenty of time and I would hope the coaching staff would be looking to help this promising young talent. Loan is the correct option.

He clearly wasn't though He is one of the most consistently unproductive attacking players that played for this club in this last decade. For all the criticism of Oba, Owen, Viduka, Milner, N'Zogbia, etc. for all these players you can point back to at least 7-10 matches in which they were truly class and among our best players. I'm not sure you can do that with Mr. Damien.

Good, Aguero has been in pretty s*** form lately. Up there with the likes of Drogba, Villa and Torres as the best striker in the world, don't you know? He's a very, very good player. This constant criticism of him is quite idiotic.

The US pundits constantly referred to little Theo as Arsenal's best player, which is more shocking than this, imo.

I thought Theo had a decent showing,tbh. Like it has been said, his limitations were on show against a superior side, but he created the best chances for his team in both legs. Would have looked better if others had performed up to standard. Still, this is nowhere near as interesting as Ron Atkinson and Marcel Desailly.

They have about 3 different spines they can play. They can afford 2 first elevens whereas Arsenal don't have anywhere near the same strength in depth. I really don't think Barca is much deeper than Arsenal at all. They just have better players in general and some of Arsenal's best player seem heavily injury-prone. Lionel Messi is really good, btw. I hope for more than survival. I hope for us to survive in a manner in which the general perception of us will be that we are a club with a future in the division. This would lie a solid base upon which we can build the club back up to a good status.

Honestly, I'm stunned at how smoothly and easily this has gone. Credit to everyone involved. We had a goal in August and we reached that goal in an efficient and swift manner. This has not been the Newcastle way over the years, but it is certainly a style I can get used to.

These events are always well received in the major Us cities. If the atmosphere for this is anything like what it was in Baltimore for Chelsea-AC Milan last summer, it will be a fantastic event. The real interesting part was the massive interest from people who barely knew the game and couldn't name one international footballer. They were probaly the most excited group of people.

Cana is a bad example, really. We shipped him off because we bought in a player we thought was better in Stephane M'Bia, and the new regime seemed to have frozen him out anyway. Though he was captain, he was never one of the clubs' great assets. He was willfully sold/let go. Pretty sure Sunderland would have offered him outrageous wages as well, which is something we won't be doing. edit: I don't think we miss him at all, and he's been absolute;y awful for SAFC, which is nice to see.

Why would it be? Two London clubs. Kind of like supporting NUFC and Boro or Man U and Bolton. (I know these are not the same cities, but they are in close proximity). I know it is not a fierce rivalry or anything, but it seems weird to support another top flight team in such close proximity.

Looking back in it, was some great business swapping John Carew for Milan Baros. I'm definitely of the opinion, the O'Neill has about reached the limit of what he is capable of at that club. If Villa really want to step up and fight for consistent CL football, change in necessary. I have a feeling they are very content with their current position though.

Very true, our name still rings out. However, the players they were talking about are top, top prospects. The type that would be ambitious signings for the likes of Aston Villa and Everton.

I saw them mentioned on the last page, so I just want to say that there is not a chance in hell that Matuidi, Sissoko, or Loic Remy will come here. First of all, the clubs will want massive transfer fees as they are the biggest assets at their clubs. (Well gignac may be the biggest asset at Toulouse I suppose). Also, these players will likely only leave for top French clubs or European competeing clubs across the continent. I would be astounded if any of them consider a newly promoted team. (Unless we offer ridiculoous wages of course, but I'm hoping NUFC is abve that now)
