  1. I think the vast majority of teams have players that do this. It really is an individual decision of how much you care for you body and your career. Unless we have a Michael Johnson situation I don't think the club has jurisdiction to interfere there.
  2. Unusual place for a Nigerian living in the USA to go. I know. My father went on business and I came along. Really felt uncomfortable standing out that much. I like Ukrainians alot, not such a big fan of the country itself. (or at least Donetsk).
  3. I've been to Donetsk, and if Sunderland is anything like that it should destroyed for the good of Britain.
  4. I don't think so (Don't know who his mate is, tbh.) He's being assisted by Austin Eguavoen, who was recently the manager.
  5. Feel very bad for Ramsey and wish him well. Arsenal supporters (foreign ones anyway) are ridiculous. My cousin called me after it happened claiming that Shawcross should be charge with assault or GBH. He said that there was criminal intent as Stoke had stated their intention to "rough up" the Arsenal players. As he said, "manslaughter is accidental. This was intentional. This is murder." I've read similar things online. That is a team and a group of fans that play the victim card too much.
  6. Admittedly I hate it when football news shows tell you "Newcastle United were embarrassed six-nil at Old Trafford this evening, with a hattrick by Wayne Rooney" before showing the goals. I wish they would just show me the review.
  7. So, Swedes and others who would know. Tell me what I should be expecting with new Nigeria manager Lars Lagerback. Good coach? http://www.jesper.nu/em_2008/spelare/images/lars_lagerbaeck.jpg
  8. I watched today, and he didn't seem up to much. Do we have an idea of how much we paid for him? If we get promoted, we ought to write that off as a sunk cost, sell him, and seek better alternatives.
  9. Rubbish. absolute nonsense. Football is a physical game and there will be injuries. It is unfortunate but it is the nature of the activity. From the players I listed I'd have thought you'd have picked up what I meant there. I didn't catch it on the first read. They did warn you, you plum. Today I was watching a show on ESPN and they showed the video of a basketball player dying on the court without warning. I'm particularly squeamish, but they could have mentioned it was coming up. Did he die recently, or was it a clip from a long time ago? 20 year anniversary. I assume most older Americans would know about it, but I had never heard of the incident. Was surprising to me.

  11. Those Ramsey images are awful. Feel terrible for him. He was really starting to live up to his talent. I hope he can recover. They did warn you, you plum. 12. ESPN 360 is absolutely brilliant. Not only can I watch the match live, I can access the video of the game at any point that I feel like. I wish the club could create something similar for all the matches. I might even pay for it.
  13. This is just a shame. I've enjoyed Portsmouth and was happy for them when they won the FA Cup. It's been a crazy adventure since Redknapp came for his second stint.
  14. Definitely Spurs. Like the club and many of their players. They play a good brand of football as well.
  15. No. But it'll be funny as hell. This. I'm not generally against England, but I can understand why the "Anyone but England" attitude is common.
  16. Hasn't Cana been rubbish for Sunderland? I liked him at Marseille, but it seems he's not been impressive in England. On a side note, I'm glad Mike Ashley did not spend 10 million on M'Bia. His passing has been so bad that we're now using him as a centre back, primarily. Ebondo would have been nice though. There are always players in lower leagues who can cut it in the big leagues, and better we take a chance at team and see if they can or not, than someone else doing it and them becoming world beaters. That said, I'd not pay silly money for them. It's a decent risk to take, but as you say it's all about the price. I would not want to pay more than 2 or 3 million combined for these unproven players. Thing is we need quite a few players and can't really afford too many risks.
  17. So are you Algerian, American, or Slovenian? So in Nigeria news, Sven is in the country right now. Apparently he's on the shortlist which includes Glen Hoddle. I forget, didn't Hoddle lose his mind when he was manager of England?
  18. These arrogant attitudes are setting us up for some nice embarassment by the Americans and North Africans.
  19. Hmmm....Marseille vs. Benfica in the round of 16. Going to be a very tough tie to win. Marseille are in pretty good form right now, but Benfica are a pretty damn good side at home. Looking forward to it.
  20. The FA ought to go back to the old procedures where teams would simply have replays until a winner was decided.
  21. 2nd leg of this will be brilliant. Nicely poised.
  22. I thought it was just me! Looks incomplete without the skullcap.
  23. The sound they use for substitutions in italy is one of the most annoying things in football, imo.
  24. The goal really wasn't his fault. btw. Chelsea could be in trouble here because Hilario is laughably bad.
  25. I don't thinl he really saw it. The first deflection had him on the ground.
