  1. Are you comparing Newcastle United to a television channel? I'm saying, in what other profession are employees expected to stay with a failing enterprise in order to support a bunch of "fans"? It's rubbish.
  2. I think it's ridiculous that any of our good players are criticised for leaving. It;'s just emotional rubbish that gets in the way of common sense. I'll tell you this, is I were a semi decent professional footballer at Newcastle United right now, I'd be trying to get the flying f*** out of here. I wonder if the employees of Setanta stay to support fans of thier company as well.
  3. He's scored about 20 Premiership goals since 2004-2005. I am not impressed.
  4. That's just nonsense. Do you remeber what he did after signing with Everton in 2004? In front of a much better team he had a strike rate that would have made Shola question himself. He had a decent spell last year with one of the other rubbish teams in the PL last year I know, but honestly I do not regret the club not wasting money on Beattie.
  5. Why our the Championship numbers so ugly. I think it would be a nice kit to have with the regular numbers.
  6. Viduka and Papillo on the same pitch would be some sight to see.
  7. You think it's a strange one that a player jumped at the chance to leave a relegated English team to play for the German champions? Really?
  8. I think Smith will be alright this season. Quite Frankly, he was our second best centre midfielder last season. I thought he improved the team.
  9. Anyone...anyone...anyone...other than Liverpool or Man U. To hell with those two
  10. Rather we just go for a relatively established managerthan the unproven Shearer or the "I've already quit this job twice" Keegan. No more of this messiah nonsense and the media rubbish that comes with it.
  11. There two of our best players. So probaly not... It's inevitable and necessary given our situation though
  12. 9 million players for a non English player out of the Championship is amazing.
  13. Dinamo Moscow are at least as good as Celtic. Russian league is far superior to Scotland.
  14. Gomis was incredibly bad last season. Amazed he went for 11 million.
  15. Point taken, but Morientes?!! 20 apps. and one goal in La Liga last season. Would have been happier with any random Ligue 1 striker.
  16. The only problem for Eto'o is that he won't get half as many chances as he did for Barcelona playing for this slow Inter team. A lot of Zlatan's goals were created totally by himself or by him doing something out of the ordinary, and while Eto'o can make things happen for himself, there's no way he can do it as good as Zlatan. I wasn't fishing. Honest. I'll be interested to see how Mourinho uses Eto'o. He never had a striker like him at Chelsea or Inter or even Porto. Will Milito be their new target man, or will Mourinho change his system? It's a bit ridiculous calling Inter "slow" as well. Some great athletes there. It's az different style of play to Barcelona and Inter's team, man for man, is maybe faster than Barcelona.
  17. What?! I can't be the only one who didn't idolise him growing up. Maybe dislike was the wrong word. I respected that he was a great player and was grateful that he did what he did for this club, but he was never one of my favorite players. I think it was his personality and the way he played. Not my style. That's the game that made me a fan of the sport. I stepped away from Liverpool when I realized how big that win was. What a terrible time to start supporting this club for goodness sake. Our table positions since then are 7,13,12,18, championship.
  18. l"OM sign Morientes. Pretty angry about this. It's such a nothing signing and a real step down from Sinama-Pongolle and Menez who were linked before. Maybe money is scarcer than I thought. Olofinjana leaves Stoke for Monaco. (Leaving Stoke is a brilliant careerlife move) Arbeloa is off to Real Madrid (Great Business by Liverpool. Selling Arbeloa for four million Euros and buying Glen Johnson for five times that amount)
  19. This would be an awful development, especially as it is dead set we would barely get a fee for him.
  20. He is making an offer to transfer $5,000,000,000,000.00 into your bank account as they need to get money out of the country. For which you will receive a 10% fee for using your account as a half way house. Hilarious. You know the .gif of someone spitting their drink out from laughter. That is me right now. My memories of Oba will be fond. Despite his faults, he's easily been one of the best players here during the last three seasons. He's threatened, he's scored, and he's played a huge part in keeping us safe the first two seasons. We were the worst team in the league's history when he wasn't playing so his contribution is noted. We'll get a decent fee for him and he'll do well in Germany I believe. Like Owen, I think he'll do pretty well in a better environment. I think this about alot of our players. We definitely had talent in this team but after years of chaos, poor management, and awful boards it just didn't fit together anymore. Oba is someone who definitely needs to be replaced btw, even in the Championship.
  21. My father supported Newcastle and he pretty much forced me into it. No choice involved really. I don't regret it though. Have to say I always kind of disliked Shearer though, no idea why. Loved many of the others though.
  22. Did people seriously think he was going to stay? None of these players is turning down the Champions League to stay with us. Frankly players like Oba and Jonas will feel that they have no business here next season, and it does not make any sense to keep them. The "I'd love to stay" is just covering one's arse incase no one makes a serious offer.
  23. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/6683/efc1248291332yobo450c.th.jpg Yobo is excited for Preseason.
  24. What?! You want to keep Barton, Nolan, and Duff and get rid of the others?! On the basis of some meaningless preseason match. That's just mad. Honestly couldn't give a damn about this result in any way shape or form. Just like I didn't give a damn when these same "horrible players" were crushing a similar level team by a similar score. These matches don't matter at all. Liverpool were just held by Thailand or someone ridiculous like that. Last year West Ham lost a match thanks to a goal scored by someone who works in their IT department. We won't even remember this in a few months.
  25. Terry took a pretty long time to come out with the definitive "I'm staying" statement. I wonder how close anything was to actually happening.
