According to several French pulications, Klass Jan Huntelaar is in Marseille today. Stuttgart and Milan are after him too. Jaroslav Plasil goes to Bordeaux. Valenica's Sunny has been linked to Burnley.

The thing is, Chelsea already had a pretty good spine of players before Abramovich entered the scene, Lampard and Terry being the key ones (along with Drogba) over the past 5 years. Man City are building from scratch, don't have the recognition and aren't based in London, it'll be a lot more difficult for them Drogba is a terrible example. He was bought by Abramovich for 25 million pounds. But your point still holds up. Chelsea were already a pretty successful and popular club before Roman. In fact, a quick glance tells me that they never finshed below 6th in the 5 years before the Russian took over. Infact, the season beofre he bought them, they finished 4th.

I see no reason to be so eager for Shearer to be in charge. He's the greatest player to grace this club, but I saw no evidence last year that he was some magical manager. In fact, I still have no reason to think he's anything other than average. He was an improvement over tha insane Irish curmudgeon, but most people who post here would be as well. Honesty, to hell with sentiment! I want money and a proven and talented manager.

Onyewu will be a bad signing for Milan. He's was impressive in that last tournament, but I've seen him look clueless throughout the majority of his career. However, he is a free signing, and I guess it is worth the risk and the publicity. Not like Milan will win anything anyway. Inter and Juve are both far better. Yes Babatunde, can you give me some information regarding Cana? do you think he'll be a success in our midfield (if he was to join)?. The very best you will get out of him is his fitness, can't recall him missing more than 1 or 2 games for L'OM, i'd say he was a very dirty player, two footed tackles galore. Don't know if i'm allowed to post a video link from the Marseille website. Had s*** loads of discipline problems throught his career from PSG onwards, strong as an ox though. Speaks volumes that he will be allowed to leave without ever asking to leave. Be just what Arsenal need, can't imagine him joining Tottenham and apparently in some french rag he's quite keen on Gormany. (I realise the question isn't directed at me). Cheers, Hamburg-bound apparently anyway Yeah, good player that I'm pretty fond of, but he is a nasty bastard. The man is a walking red card and yeah, it does say alot that most fans won't miss him if we get a good replacement. (M'bia) Was Huntelaar really that bad at Real Madrid? It's crazy that they are selling him already. What proof has Benzema laid down that he is better anyway. That was a stupid signing for Madrid imo.

Supposedly Marseille have reached an agreement of current Everton target and former Newcastle target Stephane M'bia. I'm very happy with the signing, and I think he's better than Cana, who's leaving (to Hamburg or Everton supposedly), however, his name will always remind me of that ill-fated transfer window. We've been linked to Albin Ebondo as well. Don't think I could handle that if we sign him tbh.

Cissokho is twice the player Johnson is. Amazing you can decide this after one good season in the Portugese championship. I think he's good, but people are going overboard.

The no heart stuff doesn't even matter in my opinion. When properly managed this squad defintely has the talent to secure comfortable promotion from the Championship. Alot of that "no heart" rubbish is a product constant poor management/managerial chaos/chaos in general. Most players will only run hard for people they respect and trust. It is the same in all fields of work.

I'm actually staying in Baltimore, Maryland, United States right now (summer break from uni in America), but I'm born and raised (and officially reside) in Ibadan, Nigeria.

That's good.

There is a 0 percent of him being here next year in my opinion. I'm of the opinion he was a prett good player for us, but who cares, he's definitely gone.....probaly to the continent. Same with the likes of Jonas and Colo.

I still think Michael Owen is rubbish. If they do bring him in, he'll score the occasional goal but he'll contribute little else to the team I think. Any decent striker could score a few goals with the amount of chances Man U create, but they really need dynamic players and Owen certainly is not that.

Against the crap teams yeah. As I said when both Real and Barca came up against the teams around them Barca were a different class. Real will win or lose at most 6 points vs. Barcelona. If you thihk those will decide the title, then you are a fool.

Ruebn De la Red isn't playing this year btw.

People forget how good Madrid were in the middle part of the La Liga season.

I am shocked, what a f***ing waste of a great football player. Yeah waste. He should go play for one of the big plastic super money clubs like Inter so his talent can actually be wasted. Actually, he should go to the likes of Spurs or Villa, so he can "challenge the top four" I fail to see what's wrong with him joining l'OM. He'll be paid alot, he'll be playing in the Champions League and he'll hopefully be fighting for the league title. You all want to make it out like he's going to Uzbekistan or something. I'm sure Lucho will enjoy playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world infront of some of the best supporters in the world. And I'll enjoy watching him lead the team in the fight for the title. Honestly, I'm disgusted by a football world where someone moves to the biggest club in France and it's considered a waste because he's not at a "super club".

That's fantastic. He has my vote. Viva vuvuzela. Still it's no surprise South African football is so rubbish, considering how bloody annoying their football "culture" (vuvuzela introduced in the 90's) is.
-
A large part of that was due to Shay Given's "come and get me" message. As well as the poor position Newcastle was in. Pretty much all their other dealings have been targetting relatively happy players at clubs who are currently more stable and better off than Man City.
-
Yeah, he's been quite decent for us the past two seasons. He sat on the bench for a good while, but had a very good run in the team as we were fighting through the league. He big (like 6'4-5), but not particularly talented or graceful imo. Still, he has wonderful fight and spirit about him. Disappointed the club is letting him go without even offering a contract. Great player to have on the bench, though not as a starter. Don't think it would be a great move for him though. Lescott, Yobo, and Jagielka are all better. Oh, I was under the impression he's primarily a right back that can also play centre half. Is it the other way round? I think Lescott will be off once City offer enough money to us. I reckon his head will be turned by stupid wages. Yeah, it's the opposite. However I don't think he has the quickness/nimbleness to play right back in Ligue 1, so I'd imagine he'd have difficulty in the Premiership. With the emergence of Baines and Jagielka, I don't think Everton would miss Lescott too much btw.

I bet Motta s*** the bed when he read that. "Where is my announcement?!" Sounds like you've made ground with another target for potentially less money, Jenas? I'm thinking Deco or Mikel from Chelsea. Both players Mourinho really likes.

Americans....Is Bob Bradley from somewhere other than the US? He has this vague accent whenever I hear him talk. Ahhhh, T-Shirt weather. Lovely. I hope this means that horribly uninformed European commentators will finally stop talking about how the "African heat" will affect the World Cup. I was amazed at the ignorance when I started hearing this.

Yohann Pele (The favorite keeper of those who have not seen him play) signed for Toulose from Le Mans.
-
I really don't think you're close to signing Lucho mate. You've offered 18m when you consider they paid 12, I think they'll be looking for 25m, on top of the fact they like to sell to the biggest clubs around. At this point we're the only club to have made an offer, and it is an acceptable one. Apparently the man wants to come as well. Obviously if Real Madrid just come out start throwing ridiculous figures around, we won't sign him. However, all the reports I've heard have made me optimistic.
-
Olympique Marseille are supposedly very close to signing Lucho Gonzalez from Porto ( ) and Soulemayne Diawara ( ) from Bordeaux. We were linked with Gabriel Heinze and Ebondo as well as Mbia (That brings back painful memories). Like the look of the the team for next year. Think we can really win the title. Just hope none of the top players are sold to the "superclubs".

Edgar is garbage. We can easily replace him without spending a cent. Well on transfer fees at least.
