I really don't mind dissent, and I don't see why there are ideas of such harsh punishments. A yellow card is fine. midds...what you are proposing is stupid and gimmicy. Allowing teams to place freekicks wherever they want....that would be insane. Dissent is far from the biggest problem in football, and frankly as long as the referees have some control over the match dissent should not be a problem. Yellow cards aren't insignificant...if a player steps too far over the line....fine book him. End of story. Unfortunately, referees are generally poor now it seems

Ya he plays for Al Jazira. He is far too yong to be wasting time in the UAE. Surely he could have gotten bigmoney elsewhere.

Kinnear all but withdraws his interest in Stephen Carr

Babayaro is still unemployed and I think he will be fine that way until he realises he is low on funds for his daily trips to the strip clubs and brothels. Maybe he will look for a club then. Shame he wasted his talent because he was a lazy idiot. -
IT is seriously depressing looking at Nicky Butt compared to the other holding midfielders in the Premiership not to mention the rest of the footballing world. I mean watching Carrick, Mikel, and Hargreaves effortlessly intercept the ball and spray picture perfect passes to attacking players, or watching Essien and Mascherano getting in the way of everything and providing that extra drive. I mean can't we get in players with at least some of these atrributes. Hell we could even take Zokora off of Spurs hands. He may be a bit s***, but at least he will run around put some effort in, and DO SOMETHING, unlike Butt who just loses the ball and then makes ridiculous tackles.

Barring the ACN Martins has probally been the most available player since his arrival. He recovered from all his other injuries very quickly tbh. -

That's because he's built a squad, like Dennis Wise was apparently employed to do. No I won't bother if that's ok with you. Right ok then. Lets try it. Take RB LB 2 centre midfielders one winger and 2 strikers which is what we are currently missing (I'll consider 1 if you don't see Viduka as first team). So thats, Young, Shorey, Reo-Coker, Barry Young Agbonglohor/Carew. Meaning this leaves you with the following villa team. Friedel. Cuellar Laursen Davies Bouma Routeledge Sidwell Petrov Gardner Harewood Milner Not quite top 6 team now is it. As is the same with most, look at how much ball riding Man Utd got when Tevez and Ronaldo weren't there. The team you have quoted would still pee all over our so-called 'second' team...O'Neill is a very good manager who has bought good players - Milner included...Get over it, I would have LOVED to have O'Neill at SJP, yes, even in front of KK. I would have bet every last penny I have that MON at SJP with a similar board to the one he has a Villa, would have been just as successful as he has been at Villa - even though they had some good young players(like Agbonlahor)when he joined them. Don't think that would do anything in the situation Newcastle is in. Hell I think Chelsea might struggle without a manager or owner. -
Young isn't a striker is he?

Twice as much. Mostly because they seriously thought they could win the title, and have now lost to Hull (at home) and Fulham this season.
-
No, I am saying that it would impossible for him to fake an injury for that reason.

Any names on the avatar Tsunami?? I watched the second half on a pretty poor internet stream, but we looked decent from what I saw. I have a question though. If Kinnear was in the locker room at half time, and gave interviews about the match. Why the hell couldn't he have picked the team and managed it?? -
No, it just suggest he wants to use a Dutch auction tehcnique. Instead of waiting for bids and deciding if they are high enough. He is setting a high price and lowering it until potential bidders are willing.
-
That is the way most buisness works. You can even see similar things in the transfer market. Newcastle may set a price of 6 million for Alan Smith, knowing very well that other clubs valuations will be below theirs.
-
great stuff But seriously though I don't think any of Hull's players from last season are good at all, but I was impressed with the signings of Geovanni and Boateng. Those are players that I rate.
-
It is literally impossible to fake an injury to your club. They will perform tests on you, and surely there is some consequence for refusing such a test.
-
This has been the first significant injury of Oba's career.
-
Can't stand Manchester United! Hope Kevin Davies hit a hattrick.

Aye, leave king Kev alone. It's not his fault he done a runner at the worst possible time leaving the club in the s***. Which other manager wouldn't have "done a runner" if put under the same circumstances ? Jose Mourinho? How about Bobby Robson? If you're not happy having players bought for you then he should have gone when Jonas arrived, not on the day after the transfer window closed which was the worst possible time. If it was any other manager the fans would want him hung by his bollocks. Pretty sure he was sacked, tbh. -
Why should millionaires from poor countries be held to a higher standard? Just like all rich folks they are pursuing their interests. Steve Fosset wants to kill himself hang gliding. The Hiltons want to produce spastic children. They want to buy a football club. I don't want to get into a debate about "British folks picking up the tab for our woes"...so I won't, but Sport Aid...that happened before I was born man.
-
No more protests now. I agree. The fans ought to stop before the club is completely F*****. Oh wait.
-
I thought his knee has swelled to about twice its size.
-
Probaly because its their own money and they can spend it however they want. It's their prerogative really. Also, its not their fault that the government is useless, and its not the gov't buying the club. I do agree that there are better ways for our people to spend 400 million pounds, but no one can force them to do so.

As a Nigerian, I have to take offense to what Mike Itemuagbor is saying here. He claims to want to protect the image of Nigerian football, and then he releases an article to the Western press that will be given headlines of "Nigerian Bid is a Fraud". This man has no more information than anyone. The insuination that this is some how Advance Fee Fraud is insane. I mean there are billions of dollars to be made off of oil in the country, just like in Dubai. And like the folks from Dubai, I bet the money wasn't gathered in the most "legal" ways but to randomly say that the bid is fradulent just stink of colonial mentality to me. Anyway, I wish Newcastle could some how go the Arsenal route when it comes to ownership. I am not a big fan of these sugar dady owners, who pump money into the club and can disappear in a flash. I can honesty see Man City (Not so much Chelsea), encountering some terrible issues down the line. Short term success is not worth long term destruction.

Martins out for six weeks, Gonzalez out until...?
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to KaKa's topic in Football
Seriously though, this club has just randomly fallen apart within the space of a few weeks. Managers leave, fans protest, owners sell. This sort of thing happens all the bloody time. In fact all these things could very well happen to Liverpool this year and the club won't go up in flames ffs. It really is actually unbelievable. It's funny cause things were actually looking decent until September 1st. I like most was relatively happy with the transfer window. In fact this sqaud is infinitely better than the one Roeder slid into 7th place. It's ludicrous...Hollywood would reject this script ffs. -
Probaly having good managerial skills. In the same way being a talented musician doesn't make you a competent music professor. IT is the sam ein any profession. Completely different set of skills and ideas are required.
