blasphemy i tell you Do you wanna know the real reason that makes Italian football look bad? This is my waterproof evidence, and is something i have understood a long long time. Look at a PL game, then look at a Serie A game. Try to remember the quality of the program and you will understand what i meen. I speak from what i see on Canal+, they dont even send it in widescreen, its with 4:3 ratio, and the sound is horrible, the commentators is sitting in some room at home or something. Quality of production is the difference imo I've heard it all now. I mean, Roma went to Chelsea and basically played a 4-6-0 formation last night. Was horrible to watch. Roma are s*** though. 14th in the league.Teams in th vastly inferior Serie A have been having their qay with them all season. They should buy a bloody striker though.

Will the DOF structure get two clubs relegated in one season?

Another thing btw, is double posting allowed on this forum? Because NE5 just had five posts in a row ffs. Couldn't he simply quote all of these things in one post? IDK, its just annoying when he responds to a post with five successive posts. -

how exactly had the DOF system been working well for spurs? they finished 11th last season, 1 place above us. From my knowlegde, the DOF system has been in effect at Spurs since 2004, when Jol and Frank Arsenen were brought in. Comolli replaced Arsenen when he f***** off to Chelsea. In 2004-2005 they finished midtable. In 2005-2006 they finished an agonizing fifth after they swung low at the sweet Marriot. They finished fifth the next season also. Obviously in the last two years things have gone completely insane. However, one cannot discount the fact that they still won a major domestic honour last season and are competing UEFA Cup for another year. everton have done better in that time with much less investment. they had limited success (5th place isn't really a success but whatever) but a good system will give consistent improvement. the fact that they have gone completely insane over the last couple of years should be a clue that the system is not working. Everton are not lighting up the place this year but whatever. I don't see how you can say the system isn't working now based on a season and eight games, when three seasons differ with this but ok. Everton have done alright for themselves but even they have struggled. Do not forget that they also had a 17th place and 11th place finish during the regime of Moyes. What is to say Spurs cannot do what Everton did a comeback with a vengeance next season. Even stil, Everton have realised they will have to invest if they want to keep up. That is why they have splased 12 million on Yakubu and 15 million on Felliani. Even Villa have spent a vey large sum of money. yawn. All the clubs with a DOF are at the bottom of the league, while all the clubs at the top have a manager who runs everything to do with the playing side. End of. You know I don't mean to offend you sir, but you really do come off as an idiot sometimes. So, according to the this particular league table in October of this season, you can draw that all DOF's are bad and all traditional British managerial systems are good. Good on you. You have proven that you have the logic and reasoning of a young child. You cannot dismiss what has happened before, because what has happened in the first eight matches of a season ffs. I mean it defies common sense. How can you attribute Spurs' October league position to the DoF, but not attribute their fifth place finshes and Carling cup success. That is like me saying Keegan, despite all his earlier success is a s*** manager because he only picked up 3 points in his first eight matches here in his second spell. -
The only chance you would have in US would be Fox Sports World. It generally shows games that are moved for tv in Englnd. However a quick check tells me it will not be on. So you could do what I have done for the last two years (hard to get digi cable at uni) and watch Setanta or Skysports through "other means". The quality is usually quite good nowadays.

Haven't Spurs had a negative net transfer spend this window? -
In the current squad there aren't many, but I would say Oba and Cacapa might fit into this category. who are the player, owen aside, who have done anything of note in that time? It's true there aren't many, but N'Zogbia has been a massive under achiever in the last two and a half years. Strange that he's still so popular tbh. His popularity is based on what he's produced in the past and is capable of producing, in theory anyway. I like Zog but he's got an attitude problem. There are times when he looks like he can't be bothered and that's probably the reason he has been consistently over-looked by successive managers. Aye it just amazes me that Taylor has gone backwards he rightly gets hammered for it, whereas N'Zogbia has arguably gone backwards just as much, and he's still seen as the future of the club. He has the potential to be a good player, but he's done nothing to realise that potential for a good few years, & is in danger of ending up like another Ameobi, where he'll turn 27 and people will still be claiming he's due another chance. If you ask me, we need to sell N'Zogbia. He has the potential to be a good player, but he has stagnated here, and I'm not sure any thing can be done to reverse that at this club. He could use a change of scenery and we could use the funds.

Tbh, in a way i wouldn't. It was Keegan's thing and he got it to make it work with his attacking mentality. Hughton's attempt at it against Hull was just hilarious, tbh. It's absolutely excruciating, man. When you consider Keegan got... Geremi --- Butt --- Barton Martins --- Owen --- Viduka ... playing brilliantly. Imagine what he could have done with... Jonas --- Guthrie --- Barton Martins --- Owen --- (Xisco?) Still don't get how anyone can say we played "brilliantly" with that formation. Pretty sure that was the only part of the season we had Oba, Owen, and Viduka available to start with. With that formation, we beat Fulham, Sunderland, Reading, and Tottenham. Three home wins against teams battling relegation, and one away win against a team with nothing to play for. The success Keegan had last season here is greatly exaggerated imo.

No, and this hatred of th DOF structure is just stupid and misplaced. The DOF system was working fine at Spurs until they sold their best players, and it was working fine here imo until the manager quit. (The reasons for this seem to be more of a lack of relationship/communication than any "structure"). Parky, Levy is the equivalent of Ashley/Mort at Newcastle, while Comoli is the position of say Dennis Wise. Comoli is in charge of players going in and out and all that. Generally Spurs fans are angry with all parties at the way in which things have gone over the past two seasons, not because they are confused about who did what. -
Is Benjani injured? I keep forgetting he is employed by Manchester City.
-
He was absolutely brilliant against Real Madrid. Best player on the pitch in that match.
-
Martins was a headless chicken cos he was playing outta positon! He gave it his all, thats all you can ask for! The problem is that he thinks he's Roy Race and never looks up. If there's three defenders ahead of him, he'll just run into them and ignore his team mates ?.....I thought he did pretty well. Don't know why you would pick on his performance in particular. He got fit ahead of schedule and put in a good shift. Unless you don't like him or something. However, I thought his position in the second half was a bit useless as he is noy very adept at defending are possessing the ball around the other team's box. Ameobi was encouraging tonight. Reminded me of Kanu, Berbs, or Viduka tonight. He seemed like he was playing in slow motio, but it was effective. Only difference being that those players are talented and all. I hope that Duff's performance tonight was not a one off. He was the best player on the pitch for the entire match if you ask me,
-
As mentioned, he just played on Saturday. Nile will have plenty of time to get on the pitch
-
City's line up is not that impressive tonight to me. The only thing that should scare us is the wings. Btw, I am liking the prospect of Martins running with Dunne and Ben Haim, unless it is really Richards is the center.

What Hull City are doing is no big shakes. Look at what Hoffenheim are doing in Bundesliga. There are second and look legitimately good. They raped Hannover 96 5-2 at the weekend. They are also just promoted for the first time. Then again, tey have a sugar daddy that bought them a whole bunch of class players, but still.
-
50 is a very low number.
-
I think Chimbonda is class btw. He is not likeable, but he can play. I think him and Beye are both good players.
-
Yep, and they'll finish with anice shiny UEFA cup spot
-
Honestly that team would shatter Derby's record. Although, I do consider both Carrick and Leadbitter to be very good players. You also have to realise that players like Carrick would leave for bigger clubs. That makes Bilbao's accomplishment even more ridiculous.
-
Inter Milan taught Roma a lesson today. However, it looks like Milan might be ready for a serious challenge this year. But still the league is very tight all around. Also Roma have collected 0 out of 9 points in away matches
-
I am amazed that a team can survive in a top league with that strategy. Can youo imagine if Newcastle only used Geordie players?...whil everyone else had free pickings of great players around the world. It's not even like they get all the good Basque players. People like Mikel Arteta and Mendieta never played for them.
-
That woman is dead now.
-
Why? I can't see the Madrid game...was the penalty dodgy??
-
I agree that Man U should hae splashed the money on a proper CM/DM to replace Scholes. Carrick/Hargreaves/Anderson are not that great.
