He is physically inadequate at this level without any of the requisite technical abilities to overcome it. Personally, I have never had much hope for him, but the time has clearly been up on his stay at NUFC for a couple of years. There is no reason for him to be languishing here at the age of 24. I have more hope for Vuckic to make it as a top flight player somewhere in the world, but there is also no reason for him to still be at this club.

Somethig tells me his Medical wont be straight forward as theyll want to verify his age. MRI scan to test his bones or something? The MRI wrist test only works up til 17. I am quite sure it is not even considered reliable for the u-20's. Even then the MRI test can be suspect. When Nigeria were doing the round of testing for their last u-17 tourney, one of the boys that failed was well-documented to have been born and raised in the United States well within the appropriate range. He doesn't look particularly old, imo, he is a just a somewhat ugly guy. If you want ugly you should see that Claude Leroy guy from Nicky's post at the top of the last page (2nd photo in). He looks like that Nazi fella from Raiders of the Lost Ark. After his face has been melted. That ugly man is Le Roy. The witchdoctor! Seemingly on a mission to manage every team on the continent (I believe he has managed both Congos twice). I would actually like the guy if he could keep my country's name out of his mouth for more than ten seconds.

Pastore has been nothing special at PSG, anyway. Agree fully with Mole, moments of great brilliance generally surrounded by large swaths of general nothingness. I think Di Maria would walk into their side either in the centre or out wide. They will make room for him. Their options out wide are not really impressive at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he was played there, tbh.

I watched every second of DR Congo at the last Cup of Nations, but cannot remember anything of him at all for some reason. In retrospect, it seems odd that someone so highly rated was shunted out to CDM to accommodate the likes of Zakuani. Anyway, the video tells me that he has pace, physical aggressiveness, and ball-playing ability, all things the club desperately lacks at that position. Simply based on these attributes, I am excited to see what he can add to the side. The step up from a very poor Belgian league to England will be a tough one for Mitrovic and this young boy, but the singings are exciting nonetheless.

My preferred 11 for next season with the current signings: Krul Janmaat Dummett Coloccini (Hopefully Mbemba or someone new) Haidara Wijnaldum Tiote Sissoko De Jong Perez/Aarons Mitrovic/Cisse --------------------------------------------- The biggest problem areas for me currently are the disastrous centre of defence and the centre of midfield. None of the current Central defenders are good enough. Dummett may develop and Coloccini is still useful occasionally, but it will be a problem unless there are at least two signings for that position. The midfield is interesting. All of the players (Abeid, Titoe, Colback, Anita, possibly Sissoko and De Jong) are all at least decent and have their own attributes, but I am not sure they fit together in any coherent way. Anita is the one I rate least, so ideally he would be sold. IMO, Colback is preferrable to Tiote and Abeid (he has the potential to be very good, but is likely to be sold before that could happen anyway), but there needs to be a more physical presence in midfield than Jack, who is lightweight. McClaren is decent manager imo, as well, so there is no reason for this side not to finish between 9th and 14th as is the aim.

Unless you're Mike Tyson, I don't think so. I think certain parts of Spain pronounce it differently. For instance, you often hear of people saying "Thara-gotha" but rarely of people saying "Ibi-tha".

1 paced, had the same f***ing move all the time. Was mint in PES though. He was very good when he was younger His career had a surprisingly decent renaissance at Fulham after NUFC's relegation, tbf. Like many other players, he was only really rubbish when playing for Newcastle.

The main man! Where you been bro? That woman keeping you chained up? Tell her to relax the reins a bit man. No one has chained me, do not insinuate it. In lighter news, Allan Nyom (Cameroon) has completed the Pozzi circuit. After spending six year on loan at Granada while being owned by JuventusUdinese, he has joined Watford permanently. Watford have some very decent players, tbh, but little experience in the English top flight. It will be interesting to see how they fare next season.

Emenike to Al Ain (UAE) to replace Gyan. If this guy cannot burst the net at least twice per match, he needs to retire.

Chelsea are an odd club in recent years. Players like Moses, Schurrle, now Remy and numerous others have come in and been good depth for the squad while helping them win honours, yet have been unceremoniously dumped at the first opportunity when it seems more exciting/better players are available. Moses made about 40 appearances in his first season and was never again given the chance to make the squad in following seasons. Remy was extremely important when Costa was injured and generally performed well when given time, and is discarded so they can bring in a player who has struggled since tearing his knee. Strange. Palace would be a strange choice for Remy, imo, unless he is this attached to Pardew. He is a valued commodity and in his prime, many clubs will be open to paying him high wages one would figure. Palace are not some moneybags club, so I doubt their offer is extreme compared to what he could make elsewhere across Europe/the Middle East.

Is Batshuayi a realistic option for us baba? Or is he destined for a bigger move? Been impressed when I've seen him. I think it would be difficult. He was linked with very big clubs before going to OM and has enhanced his reputation this season, recently breaking into Belgian national team (my DR Congo people are incensed that none of these top-class Congo-Belgian talents has has turned out for them ) and increasing his profile. Om are unlikely to want to sell, either. Money does talk though, and NUFC have brought highly rated players across the Channel several times in recent years, but I still doubt it.

I was fairly excited for this tournament, but every time I go through the process of finding the match I find myself losing interest in about ten seconds, which is probably how everyne on here feels about ACN, tbf . Argentina-Uruguay tomorrow should be a great match after what happened in 2011, but it is a shame Suarez cannot play. Were Ecuador meant to be good? I attributed 99 percent of their success to Quito. Think they are fairly rubbish.
-
Gignac is a very good player and had a great season, but he wore down towards the end, as did several other players under Bielsa. Frankly, I think Batshuayi is the better player next season. A better player than the more hyped Origi as well.
-
He was rubbish last season, I believe (not my opinion as I didn't see enough games, but one that seems widely held). He did well in 2013-2014, but it is difficult to say he has proved himself in any way. Clearly the better player at this point, though.

The article I read mentioned some previous incident earlier in the season as well, tbf. For the most part, I agree with you, but these players have to realise that their body and its good condition are what will make their careers and livelihoods. If you expose yourself to the same vices as "normal people", you risk shortening your career or dulling your potential. Anyone with the desire to reach their physical apex should not be drinking heavily or to the point of black out. Even heavy weed use should be discouraged.

Why do Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana not compete at Copa America? I know for a fact the first two are independent countries (and are therefore full FIFA members). French Guiana is an overseas territory, IIRC, but so is Tahiti which competed in Confed Cup. Surely it would be better and more in the spirit of the competition to include true South American sides instead of inviting one of the numerous Spanish-speaking North American countries or the likes of US, Jamaica, and even Japan to send reserve squads?

I have been putting the United States female team in my prayers in advance of the vicious beating they will suffer at the hands of Oshoala and the Super Falcons. May God protect them.
-
So, the top two from each group and two best third placed sides qualify?

Reality isn't based solely in your opinion. I simply believe that McClaren is good at his job (not a revolutionary world class talent, but overly competent and very experienced), which is not a statement that has anything to do with the state of the club. It a statement which exists in a vacuum. Whether or not he will be able to have an impact on the malaise the club currently finds itself in is something that depends on a litany of other factors.
-
Delusion in terms of what? Differing opinions on the club's yet to be appointed manager? I don't think anyone has taken Ashely's talk of trophies and the Champion's League seriously. Unless you are referring to views not expressed on this forum, I don't understand.
-
Cisse is a fairly small man and she will be wearing massive heels I am sure. I agree, tbh, but you are arguing with yourself, again.
-
I like McClaren, tbh. I think he will do fairly well here if given good players and/or the finances to pursue talent. Also, a much better face for the club than the Pardew character. There are obviously still persistent and deep issues with the way NUFC is operated, but the manager's seat will have it's best occupant since September 2008, imo.

Jonás Gutiérrez (now managing Club Almagro)
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Life is not fair and sport is a harsher business than most. Right now both of their careers are in the wilderness and the 6-7 years of service and wear on their bodies they have put into this club will mean nothing when the NUFC no longer owes them a cheque. Both surely knew it was coming and I don't think the manner of it is overly important.
