TCD gets the dog's abuse, but mozy is on that level. Compared to the forum whipping boy, ouch. I won't ask you to apologise, boil your head, or whatever else is the norm though. Sissoko has one redeeming skill and he's bang average at anything else. Wijnaldum is a much better footballer and should take his spot in the team. That's all there is to it. Apart from he's never played a game for us, nor ever played in the Premier League. He could end up being absolute gash, he wouldn't be the first. I've seen him play live a couple of times and he looked class then (few years ago mind but if anything he should have improved). There's always the chance he could fail to adapt but that's the risk you take.

To add context to my point, Sissoko is a player who's only exceptional quality is his ability to drive directly at goal when picking up the ball on the counter attack. Thus, he is only one of our better players IF we are playing in a style set up wholly around his ability to be the ball carrier on the counter attack. For this, he needs to play as a #10, otherwise he won't be collecting the ball in areas he can be effective. So, IF we are playing a counter attacking style with Sissoko as the #10, then yes, he will be one of our better players in that system. But he isn't good enough creatively to be a #10 when we are dominating games, he's an absolute liability defensively so cannot play as a CM (Playing here effectively nullifies the only thing that makes him good anyway), and he's at best reasonable as a right midfielder. Based on that, for £18 million, I'd sell.

People thinking he's one of our better players
-
I'd drive him there myself for £18m. That's a crazy, crazy price for a player who can only play well in one role.
-
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he left next season and signed for Gateshead.
-
Whenever he's had decent games it's because he's been put in a position where he can't fail. In a defence defending it's own 6 yard line with cover for him in every direction worth looking. That effectively means for him to even be 'decent' we would be building our team around Mike Williamson. Are you aware of how fucking mental that is?
-
Fuck that, any decent PL defender should be capable of controlling and passing a ball. If he can't do that I'd rather see him exposed for the useless fruad he is rather than let him be a coward and hoof it.
-
At his best when he's giving the ball away? Sounds about right.
-
Stuttgart conceded a truck load of goals with him at the heart of defence. That concerns me enough.
-
They're proper shite. Nearly got relegated last year. Also PL money >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Would that not raise slight concerns about the quality of any player they have?
-
Small sample size but in CL games he won 1.2 aerial duels per game, which is fairly useless. On the plus side, you'd assume he's an excellent ground defender, probably quick too.
-
Younes Kaboul is absolute shite. He's like what you'd get if you took all the negatives from Williamson, Taylor and MYM, and moulded them into one steaming turd burger.

Number one characteristic to win over Newcastle fans is Honesty. I'm confident McClaren will continue to be honest with the fans.

Somethig tells me his Medical wont be straight forward as theyll want to verify his age. MRI scan to test his bones or something? How's that work? See how many rings are inside it? Isn't that how they work out the age of trees?
-
Not many formations actually fit this bunch of players, below could work, you could even swap Sissoko and De Jong around. Krul Janmaat Mbemba Colo Haidara Anita Sissoko Wijnaldum Perez De Jong Mitrovic
-
Sissoko in central 2 has never worked, will never work, cannot work, and so on. His skillset doesn't fit that position and it makes the team a liability in both directions.
-
I think the better managers view Sissoko for what he is, which is the only reason he hasn't left yet. i.e. The sides realistically above us don't need him and he wouldn't improve any of their squads. Plus the fact he struggles with basic footballing skills.

CBs, Wingers, A striker that can hold the ball up, Not wasting De Jong as a number 10, Colback being captain. In order that's the list of issues we face.

Woke up in the night and decided to watch the last 10 mins of the first half. One Obertan 'first touch' later and the phone was thrown across the room and an angry sleep ensued.

Even in the States that must be like 11pm though

I'd rather have Kane than Benteke like.

What a stupid kick off time.

Williamson, Taylor, Elliott, Armstrong, Ferguson - plenty more s*** in the sea Williamson, Taylor, Elliot and Ferguson are all out of contract next year. And also they are utter s****. Armstrong is under 21 and doesn't count in the 25 man squad I believe. I could be getting this entirely wrong like, but we look short. We dont need to register them for next year, just this one will do for now How can being under 21 not count like? Citeh will be gutted to find they've just paid 49m for a player who won't even be counted as home grown. Sterling will be 21 this year. My understanding is that you need 8 of your maximum 25 players to be HG, either by birth or by time spent in the Academy. You can have unlimited numbers of under 21's but I'm not sure that they count towards that HG figure. Like I said, I could be wrong but I thought the FA were going pretty hard on HG rule, maybe even extending it so it's more than 8. If you wanted you could have 17 foreigners and then draft in 8 of the youth academy to make up the 25. 25 is a big number for a squad really, Should be at least 12 home grown players as the rule.
