Our home form is 7th best in the division. Of course we should be asking questions; especially when there is a general consensus that we're being over cautious and inviting teams into games when we're at home. Teams come up here knowing what they're likely to face, some have come up and rolled over, others, where they've done their homework properly, have found it relatively easy to frustrate us. It's incredibly difficult being at the game, seeing what is going on, to not wonder what is going on at times.

Pen all day

Diame having his pocket picked out on an afternoon stroll between 3pm and whatever time he decided to bin the day off altogether, take an early shower and put his Super Ted pj's on.

I don't think tactics cost us yesterday, tactics don't stop us passing to each other and I doubt we were told to sit off them because that's not something we normally do, it's happened before but it isn't normal. I said and agree that yesterday we were simply second best. We let a poor Blackburn side get into the game, we had a shocker against Wolves and allowed them to be comfortable, we conceded too much possession to both Sheff Wed and Huddersfield. We've beaten some sides fairly easily but we've not battered any side at home and we haven't attempted to do so. The conservative approach at home is costing us points. We're giving sides hope; we could have some more very twitchy home games to come. Some of the crowd reaction yesterday was awful. We can't play to the crowd but we're not exactly helping ourselves.

Hang on, our away form is the best in any Division; our home form doesn't get us in the Play Offs. Fans have every right to question our tactics at home; there's nothing new in our failings at home yet Rafa has steadfastly refused to change things around. Fulham beat us with ease yesterday and perhaps 442 may not have made any difference but in the games we've lost at home we've conceded first and in 4 of them we conceded in the first half and didn't try anything different until the games were at desperation stakes. We're not up against PL opposition, we're allowing some average sides to become comfortable on our home patch, when we score early it's fine when we don't we've struggled. It's too late now to change how we set up at home, I'd have loved us to try 442 in some of the earlier games and press the games. Rafa's a stubborn manager, he has his way of doing things, it doesn't mean he shouldn't have questions asked when we continue to struggle at home. As an aside, I think that if we'd have signed Townsend it would have made a huge difference with our home form. His pace alone would have added a whole new dimension to our ability to attack within Rafa's preferred formation.

Once they'd scored we were given a footballing lesson. We didn't change our tactics and never got near them. Diame should have been hauled off at half time and we had to find a way to get a foothold in the game, hitting long diagonals or even resorting to long straight balls simply wasn't working. It was as though we'd accepted we couldn't compete football wise. Their second looked yards offside when they broke down the right but the better team won at a canter. Rafa got it very wrong at home again. They scored so early that we had ample time to try and put it right; what really worried me is that we didn't react at all. I thought beforehand that Fulham would be a hard game and it may turn out to be our hardest (though Sheff Wed is a big worry). After their third Rafa confined himself to the dug out for around 10 minutes, it was like he'd completely given up. I still think we'll go up but there's a hell of a job on for next year. Heaven forbid we finish third and Fulham get into sixth place.

Leadbitter just blatantly kicked Aguero there, no intention of going for the ball.

Funny how they've not shown that Di Maria challenge again

Not a penalty for me; he sees the player stumble and runs into him.

As they begin to get close and believe they can get top 2 a lot of their fans have become over reactionary teenagers. They are absolutely fuming over losing to us, blaming the ref and possession stats to show what an injustice the result was. Big club Newcastle getting all the decisions, a "big" club who win nowt and play hoof ball. They're in meltdown mode; gone from enjoying the season to scared shitless that they'll miss out and never get this close again.

Public transport not working into Sunderland?

The reaction of some of the Huddersfield fans comes across as bitter entitlement. I hope they go up, they play good football, some of their fans just need to accept that we got an early goal and then did a job on them. The possession stats and shots mean very little when you've lost and been up against a side that has largely allowed the opposition to play in areas of the pitch they were comfortable to concede. They never got to put us any real sustained pressure.

You could see that coming a mile off

Lol Brighton

Looked deliberate to me. He looks to see where Zlatan is and brings his foot down short of his natural stride. They'd been at it already.
-
I think they've made 9 changes from the weekend, we'll not be playing against this team. Aye, they have ?
-
Huddersfield are getting overrun just now and could pick up a red card the way they are defending. Here's hoping.

It wasn't deliberate and as he's sliding his arm is in a natural position, by the rules have to say no pen for me. Agree it stopped a goal.
