That’s some free kick.

His 1st touch is quite often hilarious, he was even laughing about it in his interview. His 2nd touch on his 2nd goal was pure panic meaning he had no choice but to whack the ball with the outside of his foot. Fortunately, he got that bang on, as he did for his 1st goal.

Yeah, it’s complete bollocks. It’s conceivable that we could have sold Tripps in January, many have questioned the purchase of Barnes over other positions, Hall is out and Botman has missed most of the season. If you just take away Tripps & Barnes from the squad we are massively weaker in the Cup Final & for what is a heavy fixture list. The established clubs have a huge advantage in squad depth & a continued ability to strengthen across their best 11 & bench.

Every other Saturday over 51k fans try and get out of SJP at the same time and trundle off in mostly the same direction. Once you get to the Sandman or where Barker & Stonehouse was you have comfortable space. Saturday was nowt like that, granted the crowd weren’t moving (albeit that daft git is suggesting folk just followed the bus). I don’t know what the true figure was but, looking at the crowd depth, vantage points & generally how busy transport & town was it was a lot. Getting into town I heard loads of folk talking to others on phones who had just given up trying to get in. Trains were leaving 100s on platforms & plenty Metros were missing stops out.

Should go for Chris Woods while we’re at it. He’s a big bugger I’ll give you that.

So glad they did the bus parade. That’s tradition, it’s not manufactured, you can see in the players, staff and family that it’s pure joy. You don’t need a stage or a light show, it was fine but, riding around your city, in an open top bus, celebrating with the people is the best. It links to the past and future. We’ll have captured lifelong fans because of it, it was lovely to see generations of families there and to hear parents with kids on their shoulders cheering and singing. As the bus passed I was caught by a memory of my recently late mother recalling how she watched from a window on Grainger St as the FA Cup winners from the 50’s passed by. Great day.

Anyone else see him stretching his hamstrings at FT? Just saying.

Don’t mind that article at all. The point I’ll take away from it and which shouldn’t be forgotten is that Ashley was killing the club and couldn’t find another buyer. Had another buyer come in then it’s conceivably we’d be that same point albeit by a different path. It’s also possible that we’d have spent the same amount of money and ended up as Everton. No fan wants to be owned by such a regime and they’ve made smart decisions (to the annoyance of the Big 6). Would have been very interesting to read the narrative if we had become Everton. It could happen still, if it does then prepare for you get what you deserve. Unless and until we suddenly become able to spend obscene amounts of money on the playing side to blow everyone else out the water I’m afraid I’ll celebrate any and every trophy without any feeling of any guilt. Hardly any fucker cared while Ashley whored us out as his advertising vehicle. Has any journalist carried out a compare and contrast piece based purely on trying to being the best version of yourself with the resources available at the time? Ashley publicly stated he wouldn’t put another penny in and each time we were relegated he loaned money to us which added to the debt that ultimately added to the selling price. Remember everyone, as Rio suggested, we should suck it all up and buy the club ourselves or be grateful for what we have and don’t get above our station. Respect the Status Quo. Ashley could have had this, said he wanted this and wouldn’t leave until he had this. Fast forward and he gets done for the way he handled KK, says there’s been threats to his family and will not put another penny into the club. I’ve now deviated from the article but I’d like to see a journalist do a piece on what could have been and the relative low cost it has taken to get to a first domestics trophy in 70 years last weekend, Champs League the season before last and 19th in the League without a win when Eddie took over. I’m not going to let anyone take away the tears of joy I felt for my club last Sunday. I can separate my club from the current owners; I’ll not be told how I should feel. I’ll hopefully be still here once they’ve gone.

I've been speaking to someone involved in the organising of this (not from the club). They’re still working on what is and is not possible. I have been told that it’ll be well worth attending and I wouldn’t rule out some type of bus parade. They wouldn’t give any specifics but this bloke was buzzing, he will have seen what the club are hoping to do.

Would like to get some Burnley fans thoughts on Trafford. He’s going to go for a fair whack now and I’m not sure how exposed he’s been this season due to the defence in front of him. He looked a bit skinny and easily put under pressure when they went down. If we go in for him we must have done our homework.

Think his dad is.

Soz, was it that git long post that I had no intention of reading 😂.

Bloody hell, good job Liverpool weren’t playing Coventry on Sunday. It’ll have been double figures.
-
I think there might be a bus parade from town to the moor. Businesses in town have been given a bit of a heads up from 2pm - 5pm and if Sela do a light show it’ll need to be a bit darker. Let’s hope it’s not a quagmire.

@kloppette I don’t know a single fan that wanted us to be a sports washing vehicle, same as none of us wanted 14 years of being used as a sports advertising vehicle. The difference is we are now seen as a threat. Nobody cared that Ashley ran the club to just about avoid relegation (messed up twice) and get 14 years of free advertising. Commercially he ruined us, publicly stated he wouldn’t invest in the club and yet the media largely said we should be grateful. The fans just wanted Ashley out, the petitions were about that and the fact that Masters was simply procrastinating, quite possibly at the behest of other clubs. We wanted a decision, either way, the petition wasn’t to wave PIF in. Masters and his cronies ended up tying themselves in knots to such an extent that they had no option but to green light PIF. The speed it was eventually approved was almost comical. Take PIF out of the equation and look at money spent by other clubs and consider the head room we started with because of Ashley’s lack of investment and in theory we could have ended up with the same manager and squad. We’ve complied with PSR and unless sponsorship deals open the floodgates we will not be allowed to threaten the status quo. I get the argument that players have come because of the vision and money and why else would anyone come to play here. Then again, listen to the passion of Bruno, Joelinton, listen to Trippier, these players get it and it’s all about the football and the place. If that qualifies as mental gymnastics then that’s me. I’ll stop as I’m waffling. Hopefully you’ll stick around and see what we’re really like. For the record, MBS is a horrific, bigoted, murderer. Our government happily do business with him and yet it’s the Newcastle fans that are expected to take a stand and walk away from their club or be labelled complicit and regularly far worse.

They weren’t at the races, we were fantastic, out worked and outperformed them on and off the pitch. It would be good to get the thoughts why this was. We weren’t lucky but they were awful and regardless of our plans, we couldn’t have expected such an easy game and for Salah to spend the game in Tino’s pocket.
-
Kloppette, hope you’re a good poster and provide some level headed contribution. Anyway, what do normal Lpool supporters think of NUFC & our fans? Genuine question, RAWK posters almost to a man seem to believe we’re entitled, deluded, sports washing twats. Not trying to wind you up here, it would be good to get your thoughts. If we get chance and you stick around, we might be able to give a few differing view points from our own on our owners and what kind of club we now are. As for the match on Sunday, you weren’t at the races. Is the feeling that Slot got the selection wrong and should have rotated the squad more and it’s catching up on the players?

Mam and loads of relations lived at Bilbrough Gardens, Dorcas Ave, Juliet St and a few others. I played a few games at the old training ground. Hope you celebrated your Dad’s birthday and the win.
-
Lost my Mam last year, today would have been her birthday. It was meant to be, we win a Cup then Paddy’s Day (she was named after it, Irish on her Grandmother’s side) & her birthday today. We’ve not let her ashes go; now feels the right time. Shed a tear when Burn scored. She was brought up in the West End, Joe Harvey used to visit one of her friends house regularly, on his bicycle. She worked in town in the 50’s and watched the FA Cup parades from the office windows. Now is the time.

I don’t think the handball would have been overturned by VAR if given on field. For the Isak offside, I’ve watched it a good few times and the keeper’s movement is fluent. You could remove Bruno completely and Kelleher would have made the same dive. We scored just after so it didn’t make a difference but it certainly wasn’t as clear cut as made out, Bruno wasn’t in line of sight of the ball when it was struck, Kelleher doesn’t make any adjustments. Tellingly, Kelleher doesn’t appeal for offside and doesn't know that the Lino has flagged.

Really great that Tripps and Bruno are searching for Lascelles. Bruno tells the random in the Baseball Cap to delay handing the cup over until Lascelles gets across.
