  1. The first touches for the 1st and 3rd goals were simply beautiful.
  2. That’s just a fleeting glimpse of his tantrum. Before that he’d been jumping up and down like a spoilt bairn, had thrown his coat off and given the hair dryer to the 4th official. After the yellow he went to the bench for maybe 5 seconds before he came out again and had another go.
  3. Hope they don’t get to watch the 2nd half of our match from last night. They deprived us of the ball in the group stage; more of the same coming. Got to hope they come with a 2 leg mentality and let us at them and would be happy with a draw. If they let us blow our load and then start playing around us we’re in big trouble.
  4. Was over a foul/shirt pull on Doku around the half way line. He went nuts, threw his coat off, got booked and continued to have a go at the 4th official. He was literally jumping up and down. Was hilarious. Really should have a red.

We could have put Hall in midfield and used J Murphy at right back and switched Tripps to the left. Couldn’t have been any worse.

Just to repeat what others are saying; we can’t keep playing him there. Hung out to dry against one of the best passing and moving teams in Europe last night. He looked like he was piggy in the middle in a practice session. At times it also looked to me that we avoided passing to him as there was an expectation that he’d get dispossessed. His game needs to adapt if he’s ever going to make it in the Premier League. Said it before, his training has to be to receive the ball and move it on in no more than 3 touches. At the moment he’s just getting closed down and bullied off the ball. He has the feet to move the ball on.
  7. Chalk and cheese from Wednesday in terms of giving/ not giving yellows for shirt pulling. Couple of clear yellow not given. Other than that inconsistency (which must bug managers and players) he let 6 or so City players berate him after a ridiculous penalty appeal early on and he booked Joelinton at the 1st opportunity.
  8. Seen mixed opinions about Ramsey’s 2nd yellow. If there’s any kind of higher bar for a 2nd yellow it wasn’t applied here and I simply can’t see what else Ramsey could have done. He fairly gently prods the ball, he’s genuinely trying to get on the other end of it as opposed to banging the ball in the hope that the keeper hits him. He may or may not get clipped by the keeper but his brain has already prepared for a collision so his right leg goes to avoid collision. This puts him out of stride, he over strides on his left and lands force forward on his left foot. To avoid potential injury to his left ankle his brain tells his body to fall. It looks awkward but it’s undoubtedly natural.

Also you really have to opt in on cup schemes so that’s been around £500 so far this season. Price of success perhaps but I don’t believe they have any real idea how hard it now is to keep forking cash out.
  10. He did well last night, deserves to keep the shirt for now. Don’t think we can say what saves Pope would/ wouldn’t have made. Can’t see how he could be blamed for their goal, it was poor defending in front of him.
  11. Burn was simply trying to stop Shaw grabbing him. For any other player his elbow would have been no-where near his face. I thought Jo was clapping Cunha for getting him booked but he was stupid to do it. The additional time at the end of the 1st half was a joke. Fernandez continually told Banks to fuck off but that was ok. Ramsey’s 2nd yellow was shocking. That’s not simulation. Banks took so much time to decide it was a penalty that you have to think he was thinking of a way he could ignore the contact.
  12. Sunderland love a roll on the ground.
  13. What’s O9 doing at that corner? Goes for the neck grab.

    Offside rule

Don’t like Wenger’s offside law, too much of an advantage and how is the Linesman supposed to have any idea in a crowded box? They’ll just have to let VAR decide every time and, god knows how you draw lines with the last defender and the last part of the attacker’s body.
  15. I’ve not got the sound on and was expecting VAR to recommend no penalty ffs. Pen and red didn’t cross my mind….
  16. The absence of a real centre forward who can accept a ball with his back to play, then either allow the midfield to join up or swivel and play the wide men in behind a tight space and then go in behind themself for to return ball is a real bonus in a low block. We did have one of those last season, we don’t this season and it was stark yesterday. We got wide but not from centre forward, any ball played in had nobody attacking the 6 yard box and more often or not we were playing sideways passes 25-30 yards from goal. We just couldn’t drag their defence any higher as we didn’t have a centre forward who carried a threat to their low block.

Let’s see what he’s like next season. If we’re going to use him as a 10 his movement needs to improve. In training I’d give him a maximum of say 3 touches to move the ball on. He constantly gets caught in possession and isn’t strong enough to keep hold of the ball. He was a wasted shirt today.

    Nick Pope

He’s still better than Ramsdale but, that 2nd goal was a shocker. I think he was trying to pull the ball into his body and then I thought he’d still be able to recover.
  19. I was right in line, looked off to me and called it. Lino was behind play and got pelters from others around me. Arrogant cunt starting shaking his head at the crowd. He went a bit sheepish a few minutes later, Eddie also had a word with him.
  20. Wtf was he doing for their winner? We’d just equalised and he’s fucking about with the ball.
  21. How the fuck did Lee Carsley pick him for England? I really struggle to accept he can compete at the top level.

That wonky M is also an upside down W.

That set up is more like a puzzle picture everytime you look at it. Random shit all over, nowt straight, upside down letters, partially erased “fuck” on the oche, no attempt at the wall end. Wires all over the, extensions leads (one heading off into the cupboard under the stairs), the washing machine is casually left open. The list goes on. I’m assuming that the mobile has an app to do the scoring that shows on the monitor - cool.
