He shouldn't have thrown any punches but the ban seems harsh. I've been on a few european trips he's organised and he was a top bloke. When the Barca game was delayed due to the weather he worked his bollocks off to get the flight re-scheduled and also re-organised the buses after the game. He managed to do both whilst other trips floundered. It was a top job did when all he wanted to do was have a few beers and enjoy himself.

We need 6 points that is what it comes down too. Pompey losing today is good thing, their next game is at home to the Mackems and they will be looking to win that. If we beat 'boro and Fulham we could also see the Mackems behind us. I see 'boro beating Villa and could cause an upset at WH they nearly did in the cup) so I still believe we need 6 points; 4 may not be enough.

Parry talks bollocks but he know he does. Adrian Durham takes the opposite stance on anything but does seem to dislike us having taken the media view that we think we're great and should win everything as we're a big club. He genuinely doesn't have a good word to say about us.

The guys on Setanta were rightly concerned at the way we defended set pieces and alluded to the fact that Harper doesn't command his 6 yard box. 'boro will practice set pieces all week long & will come to win. This may assist us in getting behind them but I really fear that 'boro will score. This will not be easy; 'boro are a stronger team physically to us and we will have to match that and then create chances. What I'd give for an early goal.

I've seen it a good few times; it was a red card. I think Barton can be a good player but he's an arsehole and has let everyone down again. Very disappointing

There was a block on Beye, but you never get those decisions. First goal was clearly offside though. Having said that Lpool aren't even having to try to win this at a canter.

I didn't hear Danby swear when he took the mick; so why say he did? Shearer must have been happy to let him do his stuff and he did get the crowd going. The only thing I didn't like was him being on the pitch at HT; that did smack a bit of desperation. And, if he goes on like that without having had a drink just think what he'd be like full of beer.

433 didn't work against their tactics; they defended deep in a line of 4 and Sean Davis picked up just about everything by sitting just in front of that 4. We worked a few chances but we weren't a constant threat. For much of the 1st half we tried to play straight balls over their line of 4; on a greasy pitch and a deep line that was impossible to pull off. We needed to pull their defence around, we needed to get some width and we needed to get in behind them from those wide areas; we did none of this. They had an easy out ball most of the game on their left leaving Beye with 2 to pick up all of the first half. When we tired with 20 minutes to go they took control of the ball and had they showed more ambition they may well have won. Win our remaining home games and we may stop up however, on that showing we will not win both. Must do better.

Today's results will only mean something if we beat Pompey. If we do and there is another set of results that go our way next week then we can afford to have a nightmare at Lpool and still be in with a real shout. It isn't beyond possible that if we beat Pompey and 'boro that we'd be out of the bottom 3. It is on our hands.

Over-used. Period. You can't afford to carry anyone who has lost their legs. Especially in a team that is struggling and a midfield with no pace. He may be a better passer (sometimes - he has played some awful shite as well) but our midfield gets over run more when he is there. He makes Nolan look like Usain Bolt.
