  1. Doubt it, you need class to do that and these boys made their money out of porn.
  2. Louise gives an unexpected angle to her outrage by outting herself as a closet Newcastle supporter http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/jan/19/newcastle-united-northern-rock-taxpayer
  3. We seem to be getting heavily into a Beye/Simpson debate. Is Beye an option for us? I've heard nothing on this.
  4. Be careful what you wish for...
  5. Assuming Simpson is not staying I can only think of 4 recognised defenders in our squad who have got any sort of first team experience. Colo, Saylor, Jose, Kadar - have I missed anyone?
  6. Yup he was poor last night but as others have said he had absolutely nothing in front of him, whatever Guthrie might offer the team he is not a right winger. Di Matteo latched on to that so WBA channelled much of their attacking effort down the left (as we did) and Simpson had to try and deal with it on his own. I would still rather sign him than no one, he won't cut it in the Premiership but right now we are a couple of ham string injuries away from not having enough recognised defenders to make up a back four, and even the worst sides in this division could exploit that.
  7. I suppose he could, for example, sell the training ground to another company under his control which then pockets the rent. Something similar has happened before under the previous regime. The bit about the transfers of the players is bewildering. In effect it is saying that the players are now on the books of some company Ashley has set up and when they are sold this company takes the profit. But surely player contracts are with the club so they remain on the club's books? This whole NUST saga is truly bizarre stuff even by Toon standards. Anyway whatever Ashley has done (if anything) will have to be fully disclosed in the club's accounts.
  8. Tesco's are more interested in forming their own bank by having instore branches, along with buying branches that RBS, and Lloyd TSB have to sell off aswell as some of the Allience & Liecester branches Abbey will sell before it is merged with them fully. If the government sell off the 'good bank' (which is the one that will be sponsoring NUFC) within a year they are idiots and deserve to be shot. Why sell when the Financial market is at a low? They might as well hang on to Northern Rock and their Lloyds TSB and RBS shares until banking is booming again and then sell high.If Virgin, Tesco or Metro (some American bank) do buy Northern Rock surely the deal would have changed and therefore they wouldn't have to sponsor NUFC any more? Anyway, I now await a huge number of 'Daily Mail' readers and Southern tossers to start complaining that public money is being spent on NUFC via this sponsorship deal. Well there's every chance that will happen. Bradford and Bingley was nationalised and then spilt into "good" (savings and deposits) and "bad" (mortgages). The "good" was sold off to the Spanish Bank, Santander, for £612m. This was a decent deal for Santander - they acquired £20 billion of savings and deposits in cash, and only paid £612m for it. Idiots at work tbh...And there was also the story of this country's gold reserves, but I won't go there.
  9. I don't know where to start on that tbh - maybe a search on Mike Ashley Holdings Limited? I'll let you know what turns up. MASH Limited incorporated March 2008, cba to buy the information on it OK got the annual return for that - no accounts because it's a small company. Registered office in Goat Lane, Norwich Can't see that any of the directors or shareholders have anything whatsoever to do with Ashley or St James Holdings. Norwich Mafia Out! Too f*cking right - Boycoutt the bastards! Where are you???? Nowhere near Norwich but I've got a cousin who lives there - I'll put the word out. was a rubbish Delia Smith impression! Ok - and er "let's be having you"!

  13. Mike Ashley Holdings Limited doesn't exist
  14. Clearly wasn't happening in 2008 - it would have been disclosed as a related party transaction. And surely if forensic accountants have been digging around the club's source data they have a contractual duty to keep quiet about what they find? Christ knows what is going on .....

  16. Doesn't sound too bad compared to those above - and, let's face it, the world has changed of late and the appeal of financial sponsorship isn't what it was.
  17. Wouldnt that be 17m then? NUST will be getting the email drafted as we speak It may be an unexpected windfall profit in which case you are right - so it looks like this club is nothing but a cash machine
  18. So January looks like being a good month for Ashley - £10m profit instead of the usual £7m.
  19. Don't know what state he's in but, if he's at all fit, he could probably do a job for us at right back at this level. Short term contract to the end of the season, cheaper option than Simpson
  20. I'm sure I remember seeing MON interviewed on tv and he was asked why he didn't take the Newcastle job - he replied that he wasn't asked.
  21. Three quarters imo - and the missing bit is just one of many things that gives it some character.
  22. Good OP. While I've slagged of Shepherd plenty on these board - and with good reason - both he and especially SJH were men with big visions. The execution might have left a bit to be desired but you can't knock the conviction. Personally i thought things went downhill when SJH stepped aside and Freddie took the reins, but we have a lot to be proud of it's true. I love the place - it's in a fantastic location in the city, it is state of the art but still got character and is the envy of everyone I know who doesn't support us. I too have criticised the financial legacy the previous board left behind on here a few times but the development of SJP was a fantastic piece of business.
  23. Some mentalists off here made a dossier to entice him though, amazing it never happened truth be told. I remember reading it on the papers and thought it would be canny for you lot. You were also linked to MON iirc? And ended up with Roeder... (Sorry, didn't want to rub salt in your managerial wounds) A deranged local journalist said that MON had called him and and said he wanted the job was the story of the MON link, the journalist in question has a long track record of that sort of thing.
