Got a canny left foot. He really is lightning. That recovery run for the Diaby break was impressive as fuck.
-
Dare I say it but I thought his tactics were a bit arrogant Clear as fuck that playing a high line really isn't wise against us at home but he almost doubled down on it.
-
Thought his general game was slightly under par but he still did some absolutely ridiculous things and that finish ffs. He's the most talented player we have, without doubt - I've really missed watching him play.
-
He's going to be a monster for us in the final third.
-
Looked best when rotating into the CM position today. We made some lovely switches between the 3. Tonali will help him as teams adjust to figuring out how to deal with him which will open space back up again. Bruno had some excellent games at the back end of last campaign and does so much grunt work for us but sides had figured out ways to limit his space & influence.

He is very fucking quick and his touch is outstanding.

Brummie says Bailey is shite iirc so watch him have a stormer. -
There's quite a bit of data that supports that we were pretty creative last year but wasteful. We were top of the charts, there or thereabouts, for hitting the woodwork & big chances missed last season and our chances created & xG were consistently strong too. We relied more on set piece opportunities than some of the other top sides but that's a very legitimate weapon for tight games if you don't have Dan Burn as your primary target.

Pretentiousness of his style aside, his voice is just really, really grating.
-
I really rate Caicedo but his form did just drop a bit at the back of the season and not just against us. It may have been down to the RB experiment by RDZ though. He was imperious for the first 2/3s of the campaign.

Almost perfect player for Liverpool's midfield. Best hope is that Klopp's penchant for injuring players carries on.
-
Bloom is an absolute genius when it comes to transfers. Only recent misstep has been the rumoured Mac Allister release clause.
-
Pretty mid season and his last months at Lyon were supposedly canny average as well (although after a sparkling 6-month period).

Isn't Zaniolo meant to be pretty shit now? -
Caicedo would be a very, very good pick up for Liverpool.

He's only been with us for about 8 years, man Maybe it's repressed memories from the Ashley era but I can never remember Lascelles getting done for pace (well, at least nothing like we've seen Schar or Botman struggle with although they've been left a lot more exposed than previous systems). Usually mistakes from him have been related to lack of concentration or agility. -

I bet he bloody loved that banter! https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2021/05/04/surprise-nufc-start-clocked-the-4th-fastest-player-in-the-premier-league-this-season/ He definitely is our quickest CB and isn't a slouch once going. -

Not Maxi but Hayden > https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2020/02/28/isaac-hayden-reveals-shock-name-when-asked-for-nufcs-3-fastest-players-over-100m-watch-here/ -
Think it's pretty fair to say Willock played as a weird CM-winger hybrid last season. I'm sure there's a football hipster term for it based on some German or Italian word.

I remember an interview with Maxi where he said Lascelles is one of the quickest at the club. He's not got great acceleration but he does have a big, powerful running style. -
Found the analysis of Top 4 predictions this season to be absolutely shite, so far, even from the better ones. For me, the only clear outcome is Man City will definitely be top 4 and are very likely to win the league again. I think Arsenal will be top 4, likely second, but I actually think there'll be some regression from last year as their signings aren't a great fit (and if Saliba picks up another injury then they've got real problems). Man U were very dodgy at times last season and their signings so far don't suggest that much improvement. Liverpool still have a soft centre. Chelsea have the ability in their ranks and a good enough manager to do far better but I won't be that worried about them unless Caicedo signs. Spurs feel even more Spursy than ever... We could honestly finish anywhere between 2nd and 9th

I think playing tougher matches at the beginning of the season is preferable if we're well prepared. It can be a better chance to catch teams off guard while sharpness/fitness aren't optimal and new players from other leagues aren't bedded in yet. I actually don't mind Lascelles for this either. Schar got absolutely rinsed by Watkins last season and the one thing Lascelles has over every CB at the club is some pace once he gets going. -
Paqueta isn't good enough for City. He's a good player but very streaky.
-
Terrific read. He seems a very interesting character - even just from the BTS footage he seems to have a bit of edge behind that chilled exterior.

With 2 young Brexiteers through the door in succession, it's time for Eddie to dip back into the international market.
