  1. Who is the person posting the Tweet ?
  2. NUFC are still (currently) good for the TV money that comes in and free/cheap global advertising. I can't see Ashley giving that up easily.
  3. The one from Fabien Barthez's throw is pure sex.
  4. That one is an absolute beauty.

  6. Ah, am I Could have sworn the 2 things were linked. That makes the Man Utd collapse even more surprising then if Ferguson was still fully in place. Was the collapse was the season of the Solksjaer/Lee challenge.
  7. Albeit it was against a poor side, did the manner in which we won v QPR on the Saturday after (2 late Beardsley goals) not boost morale amongst the players and fans in the slightest? Sadly not. The damage was already done by that point and Man Utd were in everyone's heads, KK, players and fans. I saw an interview recently with Sir Les and he got it bang on. We didn't have enough winners and everyone started panicking. Look at the Keegan rant. That was after a great, hard fought win away at Leeds. He should have been brimming with confidence after that but he couldn't avoid biting at Ferguson. No victory was enough to overcome the psychological damage that had been done. Thing is though, everyone is capable of it. Man Utd did exactly the same a couple of seasons later. They were storming the league then Ferguson announced his retirement. They then fell to pieces as Arsenal chased them down and overcame a similarly large points difference. And that was a fantastic Man Utd squad. No one ever mentions that Man Utd collapse though.
  8. Seems that Liverpool are the latest club to furlough staff. They say the staff will continue to receive 100% of their salary but don't specify if the club are paying it or if the club are getting support from the government. Either way, LFC seem to be getting some bad PR from it.
  9. They are fantastic but i wont be able to watch the 95-96 season. Too disappointing, still.
  10. Says who? Of course KK made mistakes, whether that be tactically or allowing Ferguson to get into his head. He's still a god as far as I am concerned.
  11. Guy definitely misheard. It's an Allegro as a company car for Bruce with a Barcardi for his post match drink.
  12. We'd never have lost at Blackburn if we'd got at least a point at Anfield. That last minute goal completely knocked the stuffing out of us.
  13. Absolutely ruined my day just being reminded of this. I can feel it all again. 24 years and the pain never goes away.
  14. No, it's just if they're not parading with a scarf within 72 hours, everyone assumes it was a bullshit false dawn No, it's because Mike Ashley is involved.
  15. Who exactly, thought that a takeover was going to happen like? Absolutely ridiculous if anyone thought there was anything going to come of it. George Caulkin or not.
  16. The worst match in NUFC history Like fuck would I ever want to watch this again. I hate even talking about it.
  17. 100% Sean. I'm not doubting the credibility of Caulkin, he's clearly different to nigh on every other journalist out there. There's something about this though, and the timing of it, that's really narking me.
  18. Clearly a crazy opinion of you're old enough to remember the first spell, but I'm not so I get what you mean. Loads of optimism at that time. Haha I was there for the first first spell too, but I just loved the hope that his second spell brought. It was happening again and we had a billionaire owner who wore a Newcastle shirt. And things on the pitch were changing dead fast. I was strapped in for the ride. Nah, no way. I am not having that there is anyone who would choose Keegan's 2nd time over the first.
  19. But at the end of the day, he’s not a fans spokesperson, he’s a journalist who gets paid to write (hopefully factual) stories and relay them. If he believes in what he’s written, then he’s doing himself and his employers a disservice by keeping quiet. Of course, that's absolutely fair. I guess I'm just baffled as to why the story has come out now when earlier in the year, he didn't want to touch it with a barge pole.
  20. My issue with George Caulkin coming up with the story now is that it isn't a done deal (as far as we are all aware). I'd love to think that history will tell us that at the time of writing, it was all sorted but until that happens, putting the Takeover story back out into the public domain is poor form from a NUFC fan because it's making fans believe that change is finally coming. I remain skeptical that it is. I'd rather he kept his mouth shut until he was able to confirm that it was signed, sealed and delivered.
  21. It’s brilliant - loved it - thought I was.quite clued up on wor Diego but this added a few extra details to my memory bank - shame they turned on him after 1990 They way they turned on him after 1990 was ridiculous. He was playing for his country FFS. What's he meant to do, miss on purpose?
