  1. Bloody hell Portsmouth are in trouble
  2. Came in here to post the same thing. Though I think it'd be great if Mort were to come back (for the sole reason that he communicated with the fans better than anyone has in a long time and seemed genuinely concerned about our feelings), I'd say this article is purely based on the fact he was at the match on Sunday, Believe it when I see it. Maybe its some kind of lame attempt to get the club talking. Not doing anyone any favours to suggest Mort is coming back whilst Llambias is still in there. The club probably should come out and confirm it as utter hogwash whilst then telling us what is in store for 2009
  3. You really don't like him do you? I've nothing against the player at all. He's a professional and he can sign or not sign exactly in accordance with his own interests. In fact, all in all, he seems a decent enough bloke. I get riled with the fuss that surrounds him. When I made that remark, I was trying to take the piss out those who still see him as 'world class' or whatever. There's a big element of Emperor's New Clothes about the player. Looking beyond his reputation, now that he's lost his pace, he's just an average Premiership striker as far as I can see. He is much better than average. I think technically he definitely isnt one of the best strikers in the premiership but his ability to be in the right place at the right time is as good as you cant find. He has that annoying habit (especially if your an opposition fan) of being in the right place at the right time.
  4. Sorry mate. I am being flippant. I dont think Owen leaving would create the furore like when KK left. Ashley just has to give Joe the money to replace him with as close a quality striker as possible. So long as he/they show that they have been working in the background to replace him with quality, I think that would please most fans.

    Owen's replacement

Farcical meets the perfect profile criteria for being part of NUFC
  6. Kinnear spoke about players from the Dutch league earlier, so maybe there is something in this? Can already see the "Urby Goes Bananas headlines in the NOTW"
  7. Aye. The club are running scared of another Geordie Jihad being put on their heads
  8. And the winner in that sweet little scenario is ?
  9. How would he, as he grew up as an Evertonian? Just as he had been there since he was a schoolboy - gave a greater tie to them than he has with developed with us. Even now I am sure I heard somewhere that he is more red than blue these days - could be idle tabloid shite of course. Either way, if he did it to Liverpool, he wont think twice about doing it to us.
  10. In his position, who wouldnt just wait to become a free agent and see what the best deal he could get (if its not lined up already) He did it with Liverpool and he had a lot more of an afinity with them than he has with us so its no surprise I will be disappointed to see him leave though.
  11. I'd put that in Prem's top 5 attacks. How good was Viduka's back heel. What a random subject change but yes, what a brilliant front 6 that was. Happy days
  12. Hadnt realised that that was Duff's first Premiership goal at SJP for us
  13. Just seen Beckham / AC Milan match on Sky News. It flashed to Posh in the seats and I swear that Simon Fuller was sitting next to her. Those 2 just boil my piss but why the fuck would a PR Manager/Guru be accompanying them to the match. I know, I know it probably makes sense but I just cant fucking stand them and the fact that every single act they do is manufactured and managed to the minutest detail. Why cant she just go to the match with her fucking husband to support him like a normal human being
  14. Might have helped their story if they mentioned what Kinnear actually said. He might have said "Fucking great game Jose"
  15. Good of Redknapp, in the midst of whinging on about being caught on the break whilst trying to win the game, forget to comment on the fact that it was a sublime piece of skill that undid them.
  16. I'm fighting the urge not to use any kind of footballer-esque cliche but sometimes these decisions go for you, sometimes they dont. Beye's challenge against Man City ludicrously went against us - it was nice to see the correct decision (in my opinion) go our way today. I dare say we wouldnt have got it at the Kop.
  17. link please I havent looked mate. Thats why i used the term "bet"
  18. While I agree it wasnt a foul, you can see why some people might have thought it was. Bet plenty on GG thought it was
  19. I know I shouldnt judge by MOTD highlights but how come Redknapp thought "there was only going to be 1 team that would win it and it was going to be us" ? (or words to that effect)
  20. I am sure they will try and put another twist on it somehow. Lets hope the journalist is at JK's next press conference
