  1. No one was told about whatthe dispute was about so the bunch of people had to make up their own minds. So they decided to side with the man they knew and trusted more.
  2. Shite few days there mate but congratulations on the new job
  3. They werent happy with Ashley's choice of directors and their relative rolespower within the club. I do believe that one the whole, Ashley was popular.
  4. The main difference is that Keegan can walk away and get on with his life, Ashley's still here until someone buys him out. I believe this will hurt Keegan until the day that he dies. Once Ashley sells up, he moves on and spends his millions elsewhere and cares not a jot about Newcastle United.
  5. This is what makes this all the more intruiging. I cant believe that Mike Ashley is selling because the mongs have been singing and chanting at him. If only he had opened up some dialogue with a set of fans who can communicate the concerns to him, he could so easily have worked around it.
  6. Anyone remember when the first stories starting coming out about Ashley wanting to sell up ?
  7. Reasons for not talking to the media about transfers : fear of other clubs scuppering the deal, minimising the papers releasing incorrect rumour about potential salary requests, transfer fees. Reasons for talking to the fans : allowing them an insight into THEIR club and to what is happening at a time of great chaos The 2 forms of communications are totally different. They got one right (silence on the transfers), they got the other horribly wrong. wouldn't they just be accused of spinning their side of the story ?. If they had done it early enough, it would give them a chance to get a greater percentage of the fans on their side. There are a fair few on here see KK as the main reason for the upheaval; the club could had had even greater support by opening up a bit more. They could have given a lot more fans a chance to question Kevins actions.
  8. So long as they're not cockanese, eh? Oh jesus can we lock this thread now

  10. Makes me feel suspiscous. Why the statement now and nothing before. Sounds too calculated to me. I would love know how long this statement has been planned for. Just not possible that it was done because of a "Cockney Mafia Out" banner
  11. List them. You just beat me to it Mick That line is bullshit peddled by the media.
  12. Because he was trying his hardest to make things work and to make the fans happy? My guess is that they have been working on the correct wording of that statement since last week. They aint done that since last night
  13. If Ashley had tried to speak to the fans he so enjoyed sitting amongst, he would have discovered that they arent all like the idiots in front of the SSN cameras and he might have understood what our true concerns are.
  14. Lets stage more demonstrations to get him to stay and have loads of banners saying "We dont want you to leave man. Your not a cockney. We meant Wise and Llambias. We love you Mike"
  15. I am writing this before seeing anyone elses responses to the official statement but one thing puzzles me.... If he had issued something like that a week or so ago, he might have avoided yesterdays shennanigans. So I remain ever so slightly cynical but the statement in itself makes me disappointed he isnt staying in charge.
  16. So what happens to Wise and the rest now?... up until a new owner comes in. Their motivation is now surely down the shitter
  17. Is the truth that we didnt really want Him out especially. Is if fair to say if this statement had said "Wise and Llambias Out - being replaced by 2 people subject to joint interviews with Ashley and Keegan", then most people would have been happy to still have him a the helm. I think I would.
  18. But why didnt he just get rid of the staff that the fans were most concerned about. Wise and Llambias. Is he scared of them or something. Its odd that he would rather get out than just replace the problematic staff.... assuming he really did love his time here up until 2 weeks ago.. Jesus.... here we go again
  19. ha ha some fucking business man. one hint of trouble and he is fucking off.
  20. I must admit I am not. What's the story reporting. Any actual quotes ?
  21. Bottom line is that its been done now and the banner has been seen. I dont think it will alter anyones perception of geordies as a whole because they will already have an opinion on what they think of us. Intelligent people will know that one the main, geordies are good honest people intermingled with a handful of idiots. Much the same as I am sure most geordies think cockney's are a brilliant people - intermingled with a handful of idiots. ( As a personal account I went out with a girl from Slough and her parents were both from Bow. 2 of the nicest people I have ever met in my life and I still get birthday/christmas cards from them depsite being married to a Birmingham girl for 6 years ) The media have been showing us up in a bad light for months/years so one daft banner and a bunch of chavs chanting in front of the players entrance isnt going to change anything.
  22. Still think its more about the staff than the structure. For all we know, Wise really might an annoying, devious, scheming little toerag. There tends to be at least in one in every work place who does things deliberately to shit on his work colleagues. Might not be Wise, might be any one else. Might be Keegan. I think I have given up trying to work it all out
  23. so what would we think of the southerners then? Personally I wouldnt give a fuck if they held a "Geordie Mafia Out" banner up. I like to think I would be able to see where they were coming from. EDIT: In terms of their argument over being run from Newcastle. I worded it badly sorry
