1) Yes and No 2) Yes and No Thanks, thats cleared it up for me then. Sorry. I just wanted to add my thoughts without getting dragged into the full reasons why. Shall happily leave that to others.

Fed up of all these people sticking their oar in

I'll 2nd that mate. Its just too much now. It needs to end

He employed Dennis Wise. There is an argument that he has been mocking Newcastle United fans for months. Now, under his control, he has re-employed and humiliated their number 1 ex player and manager. Paranoia??? Probably

Watching the build up to tonights game, I feel like I wont ever see Newcstle United anywhere near this competition ever again. Never felt so detatched from a tournament

He is bigging him up in readiness for our new owners to come steaming in for him

I am hoping that the whole lot of them are in Dubai because of a definitive meeting they had lined up and not just to attempt to speak to every rich investment group or contact of Jimenez in the Emirates area on spec Not convinced yet mind that we actually have 1 interested party. Hard to tell with all the various names being bandied about. Within 10 minutes this morning I heard David Craig tell us "its not true that Mike Ashley didnt turn up for a meeting", then that bloke from ArabianBusiness.com tell us just "did not bother going" So god knows who or what we believe is really going on. All I know is that it looks like the whole running of the club has been put on hold because the whole damn lot of them appear to be over there.

wat a nice bloke you are I'll lose not one wink of sleep over your opinion chuckles. nar i get ure point. cant really cry over another clubs injury, part and parcel of the game. Was a cynical challenge but it happens We shall definitely see far worse challenges this season. Amdy Fayes for one was far worse - nasty two-footer

Good point. Its a shame he didnt stay to find out that he wouldnt have been expected to make decisions based on what the majority wanted. All he had to do was explain his decisions and his actions. Keegan got a lot of respect for coming out of the steps of SJP and explaining personally to fans about why he sold Andy, sorry Andrew Cole. If Ashley had done likewise - or even anyone else of the senior management, they would have been given the utmost repsect. I think this could have been so so avoidable - if they had wanted it to be

Dubai Investment Group arent apparently. Quoted on SSN as saying not involved in negotiations
-
He probably does I know but I think he now has too many doubters and critics amongst the newcastle fans. The ONLY possible way I think it would be worth his coming back is if the full story came out and he came out of it clean as a whistle and had every fan agreeing with his reasons for walking out. I cant see it happening personally - sadly
-
I hope not, best to cut our links with both owner and manager after this fiasco. It would show limited thinking for any new owner to just bring Keegan back. Such the easy thing to do.
-
My worry would be that he could be like Allardyce. Great at the smaller club that has lower expections, lower profile etc. However, the step up to the circus that is newcastle united might be beyond his capabilities
-
Certainly worth making sure he doesnt play in the return game though. that could get ugly
-
No further punishment for Guthrie. 3 Match ban. Just on SSN

What a heap of shite that story is. Mind if they are all there (Ashley, Wise, Llambias, Jimenez), they certainly are a tight clique arent they. Guess the development of the club is put on hold then... who holds the fort while they are all away ?

[quote author=Big TRon link=topic=56250.msg1499883#msg1499883 date=1221607862 as far as i can see, the only moving on they are doing is concerning themselves, whether it is giving themselves a voice or creating their own merchandise. The club itself is up for sale, the players disheartened with no managerial appointment imminent because the owner wants to get out. Did anyone at the meeting discuss the next step to solving these problems? Sorting out the club itself is Mike Ashley's job. Hopefully he is doing it. He hasnt done a very good job of it since Keegan resigned. There is not a single thing the fans can do that can actually correct the clubs problems at the minute.

Insulted black people & talked about building a multi-million pound distribution network of unofficial gear, is the jist so far.

 I thought that after I had posted my comment but wasnt sure if it was just me

I dont know a great deal about horse racing but speaking to people that do, I have been told that it is all about the winning & owning the best horses rather than the money for the people involved in horse racing from the middle east. They take great delight in beating fellow Arabs on winning a major race or out bidding one for horses. Is this stuff true? True when it comes to Horse races in the UAE, Camel races in Saudi Arabia, sadley even though we are in 2008 and even though those people own so much money they still think as if this was 1850, for them winning a horse race and owning the best horse is a source of great pride and honour, they would pay millions to get the best horse and will stop at nothing to get it, its truely ridiculous. I am not sure about horse racing but I have a good friend who works for Emirates Airlines and with them being a Dubai based Airline and from travelling there frequently for training courses etc, he says that they are very competetive with their fellow Arab States and are always looking to outdo each other.
