  1. Excellent point. I bet Birmingham are very upset tonight having not won. I shall see when I speak to the lads at work tomorrow ut I can bet, what with out recent history, and their recent of fairly decent results/performances, they would have expected to win tonight.
  2. I am just so fucking relieved. Good point earned. Doesnt matter how it happened. A good point earned.
  3. I have to admit that I thought Big Sam was just what the club needed

] After spending the best part of a lifetime supporting them, you don't know the meaning of the term mental wreck!!! Well I am 37 this year and have supported them since I was 8 so I have a fair idea

I think in the last 7 days I have tried and gone through every superstition I know. I have tried changing routines for everything that I do in the vain hope that it is going to change our fortunes. This fucking football club have left me a mental wreck

They have also lost against Villa and Man Utd Good old SSN
  8. Really good article that. At last an intelligent piece of journalism about our current plight; ironically written by a footballer and not an educated journalist. Especially liked the personal reference to his relationship with Woodcock. Interesting insight Was probably that dodgy perm that was the main problem.
  9. We have Smith fit for the run-in.... its not looking good for us

Its absolutely shite that we should be feeling like this today. We have no right to expect to be competing for trophies and any club in theory can get dragged into a relegation scrap but with the resources at the clubs disposal, its a shambles that they find themselves in this situation. They should all hang their heads in shame. I just hope the players are feeling similar nerves and fully appreciate what is at stake tonight.

I cant concentrate properly at work today. Have come on here for some comfort Terribly nervous
  13. The press are being very very gentle on him for whatever reason. Because at the minute Sunderland dont sell newspapers and they just dont appear on the radar of the commen football football fan
  14. I am not mate. Firstly its a money thing Secondly, I have been to see them at St Andrews a couple of times since I moved down here. Both resulted in getting kocked out of the league cup and it hurt like hell to see their fans celebrating and then having to meet up with bluenose mates that were there as well. I thought about it and decided that if it happened again, that I just couldnt cope with the disappointment. The stakes are just so high tomorrow. Weak as fuck I know but I just couldnt stand it - it will be hard enough going to work on Tuesday to face it
  15. I think its a fair knocking bet that he will be using a lot of Fergie's psychologiocal tactics but as ever, only ever see's the ones that go against him.
  16. What we have to focus on is the results of NUFC. No one else. IF we win and draw a few of the remaining games, we will be ok. It doesnt matter what Fulham do so long as we look after ourselves. If we dont then we will go down anyway as the 3rd bottom and deservedly so. I think its a natural reaction when we see a bottom team win a match but we surely cant expect them to go on and win the rest of their games. There is a reason they are 2nd bottom. They just got lucky and caught Everton on a very poor day. If we win tomorrow, the fans of all the other clubs will say the same about us.
  17. After the next 6 days, there are no more excuses. Its been easy to say "the fixtures have been very hard" up until now and I think that is a genuine defense. However, we cant use that after Birmingham/Fulham .
  18. Thats the things isnt it. For too long, a lot of people on here, and a lot of Villa and Birmingham fans around where I live have all been saying "you wont go down... there are too many shite teams down the bottom". Well here is the reality check... we are now the shitest of the shite (bar Derby). Hopefully the players havent also been thinking along the same lines. If they have, hopefully, recent results will have been hammered home to them and have shown them that they have to stop assuming someone else will be worse than us.
  19. I think loyalty is important as it helps keep continuity within the team and the club. Commitment should be part of every players natural make up but the reality is that they are just employee's of the club and a percentage of the country's population arent committed to their employers and just do their job grudgingly. What we hope is that the players look beyond the club and think of the fans but I dont think they do in a lot of cases. Best way to do it is to have a good manager who is positive and can bring out the best in each player and for the fans to show equal commitment to supporting the team and hopefully, the players then respond - especially when the chips are down like now

    Today's other games

You're right. I'd much rather watch a toothgrinding, soul destroying 0-0 slugfest between Bolton and Boro than, say, Barca or Inter or Real Madrid, or Milan, etc. etc. Well, when watching 'La Liga' I don't care who wins and that for me is the difference. I am interested in all football - I just love the sport. How can you not be interested in watching the likes of Messi, Ronaldinho etc ?

    Alan Smith

As if he would do that He should, if he wants to play PL next year. Got a feeling he'll not be here next season no matter what. I hope so, but I can't see the club getting rid of him nor any club wanting him apart form Leeds. He'll end up a journeyman. Hull, Bradford, Huddersfieds etc IMHO Edit NEWCASTLE, Hull, Bradford, Huddersfield
  22. To be fair, I'd take a draw now if given the option. Took the thought right out of my head
