  1. And we have a winner for the worst caption.
  2. Man U should be forced forfeit their first game and give the points to their opponents
  3. Agreed. Its frighteneing how arrogant they can be given they way they have been slating Real Madrid. Kind of brought it all back home to me why I hate Ferguson, Man U and their fans
  4. did he? lanky streak of (unfunny) piss Oh Come on. Give the lad a break. Not usual for a footballer to give anything remotely funny as an answer.

    Oba And Out

Not sure what the story was but I just seen an interview with Martins on SSN. Interviewer blatanty trying to get him to say he wants to play for Arsenal with some disgustingly loaded questions.
  6. you're not serious? Fuck me.
  7. Amdy Faye for me. My shoulders just slumped in resignation whenever I saw his name on the team sheet
  8. Amazing. And the UK papers had me convinced he was Eastlands bound
  9. Spain my arse. They went to Mykonos
  10. Just wondering if Villa are just trying to get Spurs to do something about it. Be interesting to see if they submit a counter bid in the next few days
  11. re Bentley and where he would or would not go. The "we can offer more money than Spurs or Villa" thing is a bit of a red herring. The following facts are known amongst Villa fans at the moment. 1. Bentley had talks with MON two weeks ago. They went well. 2. Villa have offered Blackburn more money than Spurs (confirmed by board member). 3. Villa have offered Bentley more money than Spurs have (confirmed by board member). 4. Bentley is umming and aahing, but the one thing that keeps coming up is that he wants to go to a London club. 5. Villa are about to sign Friedel. Blackburn want Robinson to replace him. Spurs can get around the fact they're on a limited budget by offering a part ex deal involving Robinson. 6. Bentley will go to Spurs, Robinson will go to Blackburn plus some money, Friedel will go to Villa. If point 6 doesn't happen, I'll come on here and eat my hat. Points 4 - Bentley wanting London (which, incidentally, almost makes me hope we don't sign him if he's bothered mainly about shopping and clubbing), and point 6, Blackburn needing a new goalkeeper, are the salient points. This kind of shit isn't as easy as "offer him more money", esp not these days when everyone has money. Salt and Pepper with that hat Brummie mate ? SSN reporting Villa bid for Bentley
  12. I think its just that he hasnt really had much of a chance to let people see what he can do. Sibierski was coming up to the end of his career and his best had been and gone so people had seen enough of him to be able to make a reasoned judgement. Guthrie is only just starting out so deserves the opportunity to be judged on his performances in a black and white shirt alone. Playing in that Bolton team last year can be no basis for judgement of his ability
  13. True, but it could go either way. Isnt a single transfer in the history of the game that is/was guaranteed to be a success
  14. Couldnt quite bring yourself to admit that Dave was 100% right could you Well, it´s a quote from somebody whose trustworthiness I don´t know (Mallorca´s chairman). You can´t know 100% either whether a club bid 8 million for him in January. I remember the quote as saying they had asked for 8 million from Portsmouth, not it being an offer. I apologised for being wrong and coming on a bit strong.. What more do you want? Nowt mate. Just yanking your chain. There has been a fair bit of to-ing and fro-ing over this whole thread and it just made me smile that it still couldnt be brought to an ultimate conclusion No offence meant
  15. I´ve checked and it appears you may be right. Apologies Dave. Couldnt quite bring yourself to admit that Dave was 100% right could you
  16. Oh no Mick.... you know exactly what is going to happen the first time he comes up against us
  17. I loved the wave to his fans as he walked off the pitch
  18. Arsenal reject went to a lower league club and came here for less than £2 million. http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/4953/andycoleeg1.th.jpg Exactly the type of signing we need to be looking for. We have no chance of getting players that played at Euro 2008 (unless they were s****) and young british players who are already being talked about in the press (like that lad from Cardiff that Arsenal signed). Somehow we have to get lucky and unearth a couple of gems (Rob Lee is another of this type) then we can push on and in a couple of season become an attractive propostion for the better known talent Geez, and they call us, the ones calling for a bit of ambition, doom mongers. After reading that I think we've all got it the wrong way around.. The people in the positive mood camp are not positive at all, they are mentally prepared for mediocrity.. On a more serious note, we are still a very attractive Premiership club and many players would jump at the chance to join us, no matter how much Shitteam will have you believe otherwise. It's just a matter of the people in charge of the club showing the required level of ambition in attracting new players, i.e. ones that will allow us to move forward.. How were Andy Cole and Rob Lee mediocre ? I didn't say that, did I? I refered to your 'we have to get lucky and unearth a few gems' mentality.. Err, we are not Hull City you know, we are Newcastle United. We have a big name, a good reputation and a billionaire owner, hence I think we can afford to set our sights a little bit higher than attracting relative nobodies for pennies in the hope that they turn out to be the next Rob Lee or Andy Cole. Capiche? Capiche ?? I am leaving this conversation now.
