We probably should have got relegated last year under Roeder but he just got lucky with some results towards the end of the season. Agree with Coach. The pressure on us, as the the newcomers to the relegation battle and as everyone's favourite relegation candidates could, and looks like to be will, prove to be too much for the players
-
I'd rather Fulham stayed up and Wigan went down with Bolton any day of the week. Two horrible tin pot clubs with no right to be amongst the elite. Agree entirely. even our good friends down the road have a much more "Premiership" set up that those 2 shitehouses and get more than 20,000 people in 2 watch them
-
Very true. If we manage to stay up.... who on earth would sign Alan Smith ?
-
I hate that we look likely to go down yet Wigan will stay up and continue to allow world class players like Fabregas to play on unbelievably poor playing surfaces like that one today. In these days of high level facilities, Wigan as a club are an embarassment to the Premiership. If their players do enough for them to stay up then fair enough but the club itself should be punished for things like this. Its like they are playing in the 70's again.

Aye. Need Everton to pull their finger out as well.

Interesting to see how this affects Boro's league form what with the tough run of fixtures coming up
-
We need a miracle
-
Only just say Pennants goal this morning - FFS ! We really have nothing going for us and I am not sure any amount of effort is going to reverse things. No matter what we do, I firmly believe that bad luck will ensure we go down
-
If luck was on our side we would play West Ham next weekend. They looked shocking ast Liverpool in the week. No doubt by the time we play them they will have found their form again
-
He can have as long as he wants for me like because who on earth is going to replace him...... and not the Shearer discussion again please !!!!!!
-
I was talking about this with people at work (in Birmingham)... 29 games.... not a single goal...not a worthwhile meaningful contribution... how is starting position justified

I'd probably go along with that, Keegan had a massive handicap as he'd had no plans for any club, get through to the summer and I think that will change big time. Thing is though Mick, 12-15 years ago Keegan was a huge draw. Players in their early 20s (look at Martins, said he hadn't heard of him), won't be drawn to him now I fear. The amount of press we have had since he arrived..... everyone who didnt already know him, certainly must know now. And do you think they'll be convinced to come and play for him? If they meet him yes. No one can sell this club like KK, or maybe SBR, can It was a lot easier to do that last time though. After the first 2 years, it wasn't really hard to pursuade people to come here surely? Liverpool & Arsenal were going through periods of transition, Chelsea were sh*t, and apart from Man Utd & Blackburn, no-one had more money than us. Now though, there's an elite 3 or 4, and also 4 or 5 clubs just behind that, who have better sides, and the same financial clout as us. Oh of course I agree but I think Kevin is capable or attracting the likes of David Bentley here (maybe not next season but that type of player who cant get a game at the top 4... maybe Walcott). Whoever the personnel may be, I have 100% confidence that Kevin can replace the current shite with a squad of players who will at least have us challenging the UEFA Cup places again

Derby... Wigan... etc etc etc as apposed to Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa
-
I always kind of sneered at fans of clubs who "celebrated" surviving relegation.... until that goal went in. Cant think of a goal we have scored since that one that I have celebrated more. Was close to tears We have to cling on to hopes like these but its a different division and I am struggling to hang on to those hopes
-
We wouldnt have gone gung ho at any minute under Sam and would still have lost as they would have come at us a ton more than we allowed them to
-
All of this is irrelevant anyway because we are never going to have any success, never going to win a cup, we are never going to have a manager that is going to get us back into the champions league and world class players arent coming here ever again. We are a shite club pretending to be otherwise and any manager who comes here is going to fail
-
If it helps keep take their eye of the relegation battle then fine
-
Finally, someone without their head up Keegans arse! Form the outside its different, my housemates all feel similar to the above (arsenal, Blackbuurn and Tramemre fans). And they don't watch us, so what has they think got to do with anything? I've been at every home game, I was at Wigan and Fulham. I know exactly how s*** we were under Allardyce. Don't really give a toss what casual outsiders think (no offence intended, 1878, or indeed you, SpinS. I'm not trying to play the soopafan card or anything.) I agree, SA football was shit, but we were more solid and probably wouldn't be in this mess. Casual outsider I may be, but a bit of realism sometimes hurts. I dont know what that means ?
-
We would have been worse off because I dont think we would have even got the couple of points that we have got under KK. Would have averaged less than 1 chance per game given the opposition that Kevin has had
-
Who the hell would buy us now? Reckon he has no chance but to put everything into an instant return.. with KK as manager. I would be convinved KK would clear out the utter shite currently representing us and would create a decent side again

We don't have any debts. I am just worried about the players salaries/contract... is that goinig to be a millstone around our necks ? -

When/if we go down, what is going to happen with us financially or do we think that Ashley will bankroll us in the hope that we will immediately just come straight back up ? I can seriously see Leeds MKII happening to us now
