I dont think its the people trying to figure out what went wrong that are getting chastised, more the people coming on with one line complaints about playing shit football and suggest that nothing has changed from last season. The kind of posts like that, that offer no insight but just slag off the team and manager are the written equivalent of the booing at the end today

Anyone know how close we are to matching Man City's records of not scoring at home ?
-
I wasnt at the game but I am not hearing about him being injured today so it has to be positive.

I think we all need to have an early night and sleep on it and discuss it in the morning. there is so much over-reaction on here its frightening. So many posts are the equivalent of booing at the match in their negativity. Not having been at the match its good to hear who didnt perform on the day (thats just on the day lads) and who did but the suggestion that everything is crumbling and the club is going nowhere under Sam is utter ridiculous. Who the f phrase "false dawn" can be used on the 18th of August..... Its been a good day. makems got battered, Durham put in a great performance in the cup final and the toon have a point and a clean sheet.

Because Marton O'Neill is a cavalier manager who never sets his team out defensively... any chance that might have contributed. Didn't stop us beating them 3-1 against virtaully the same team last season. any result against them last year was more by luck than judgement. You cant just say because we beat them last year we shoudl beat them this year. Dont work like that.

That is pathetic if true I have only just logged on and have only read the last page so dont know what has been said previously but the negativity on the posts so far fucking astound me. What the hell did we expect - Champion League football. Give them a chance for gods sake. So what, we had a poor performance.. and here is me slagging off the spurs fans for moaning after 2 games

Did they feature him ?

Already surplus to requirements. Oh Dear :-[ Still, Serie A well worth a watch.
-
Great news that. I love watching Serie A. Good chance to watch Boumsong and see how be performs for Juve.

I seem to remember SBR implementing similar kind of disciplines when he first arrived. Things like, when the players all had lunch, no-one left until everyone had finished. Before hand people had just been dribbling out at will and drifint goff to do what they wanted. I think he also insisted on the players wearing suits and being drssed smartly (might be wrong about that). I just seem to remember he introduced a lot more professionalism and a sense of appreciating your teammates - more than was around from when Gullit was in charge.

I agree with that, the PR would be excellent, the kids love going to watch the players train during the holidays. Maybe Sam will move towards this kind of thing once he is happy that the attitude is right with the players and people connected to them

The more I read stories like this, the more it sends a shiver down my spine at what kind of condition the club has been in for the last few years. Hang your heads in shame Messers Souness and Roeder.
-
I am sure the club see it purely just as a way to kick start the season. We all know that with a decent few wins/performances at the start of the season, the fans will be capable of developing their own atmosphere again without the need for any encouragement from the club.

Or stupid music after a goal is scored. Just what I was going to say. Possibly the thing I hate most in football today. Bolton's (I think)..... "I Feel Good".... makes my skin crawl
-
Barnsley are thinking... " Cha Ching ££££"
-
Not be long before they change the rules over there so they can bring him on just for Free Kicks. He would be the best member of a Special Team there is.
-
Was behind closed doors. Ah ok. Probably got the same reaction as if it were a full house

Has Mido signed yet? As from looking at his face in the stand, it was like! Ohhhhh Sheeet Whaaaatt av I dunnnnn! Headslap If he's NOT signed yet, i bet his phone'll be off now, as he speeds back to London to beg Fatty Jol for forgiveness. You just know he is going to pull a Ghaly on Boro

Lull them into a false sense of security

-
Bad sign. They are obviously got more about them than 2 years ago.
-
Ian Payne just said that the last time Man U didnt win either of their first 2 games they went on to win the treble
-
Fucking hell. He was shit at Birmingham 4-5 years ago. How is he still scoring goals in the Premiership
-
