  1. I've learnt from history that thinking that things are going on in the background because we aren't hearing anything isn't the beacon of hope that we all want it to be. I think it usually means that nothing is going on. (subconsciously looking for the reverse jinx there )
  2. This is one of the dafter angles (and they're all pretty daft) being pushed. There doesn't need to be any shadowy links between the Premier League and Qatar - Qatar pump 100s of millions of pounds into the Premier League's coffers every year as a result of the beIN deal. That's the financial link that's important and it's in the public domain. Everything else is conspiratorial fantasy that will come to absolutely nothing. I think this is very fair and makes a lot of sense. The logical conclusion therefore is simply to reject the takeover, surely. I'd (genuinely) be interested Penn[/member] to hear why you think the PL never reached that decision. I think it's unfair to belittle people simply because, in the face of the lack of communication (and seemingly, the logical decision) from the PL, they are trying to work out what is going on with their club.
  3. Isn't the PL's answer to that long letter "PIRACY and BEOUTQ" They should still be attacked though for their negligence to the club and the fans through lack of communication.
  4. Wow. Did not realise that.
  5. Signed Have to say, for fear of being all Penn-like, I think you're all losing the plot if you think there's any mileage in this being resurrected I've just gone into full on cynic mode and I just cannot see, with the backing of Qatar and the major PL clubs, how the PL won't get away with just burying their head in the sand. For the life of me, I just cannot see who can force them to do anything. (there's definitely some self preservation going on by forcing myself to believe this) Maybe it won’t but at least I can look myself in the mirror and say at least i tried to do something, at least I got involved. Aye, that's absolutely fair comment. Good way to deal with it all. Despite my cynicism, I have joined the NUST and will see what I can do too. That’s all we can do bud. ? Absolutely (for clarity, my cynicism is towards us getting a positive end to this saga, not towards the NUST )

  8. Don't do it to yourselves, man. Life as a Newcastle fan is much easier if you just expect the worse and move on
  9. I’ve been that way since an hour after it all came out. One big last roll of the dice. If it doesn’t happen after all this has come out and external pressure is applied, then it wouldn’t ever Have happened and they’ve lost nowt either way. What it’s done is shake up the status quo. Yeah I have always had a thought that since they said they still want it to happen, that theirs more to it. The more we hear of it, the more I’m convinced that they are still in the same position behind the scenes and have only just changed the public face of it. I think if it did go our way then there would be no positive headlines until we got a statement saying the deal has been completed out of the blue. If they’re putting pressure on by changing public face, they’ll be doing twice as much in private. Nailed on there’s been dialogue between KSA and uk government over this, the results of that are yet to come Gloves are off. This simply isn’t over. I think you need to accept sooner rather than later that this deal is over and nothing is going to rectify it.
  10. It feels like it already has. It kinda had before they pulled out. Definitely. Consciously or subconsciously, we probably all knew it was coming.
  11. Greg, these are my ideas: 1. Ask the CMA to investigate anti-competitive behaviour by the PL and member clubs in colluding to prevent the takeover. 2. Create a stock email that members from throughout the UK asking them to support Chi’s correspondence with Masters and to support an investigation into the PL by the CMA 3. Actively engage Alok Sharma, Ed Milliband and Lucy Powell to persuade them to push the CMA to investigate the PL. be sure to point out that this issue creates a precedent which has ramifications for 90 other clubs, not just our own 4. Through the FSA engage with other supporter groups. Remind them of times that NUFC fans have helped out their clubs and then ask club groups to engage their own clubs to tell them that interfering in another club’s takeover is not cool. 5. Ask the PL whether they have investigated the information provided to them by C4 about Everton not disclosing Usmanov’s involvement in their takeover. 6. Engage with the Chronicle to run some highly negative stories on the PL on their front page. 7. Draw up a long list of ex-players in terms of their national stature and invite them to become involved in NUST and get involved in the critique of the PL. 8. Need some sort of responsible protest. A front door boo for the PL throughout Newcastle maybe? 9. Accept that moving forward it is going to be hard to run protests and constructively engage with PL and NUFC. Choose which you want to be an open the door for a non-affiliated group to take the other role. Do you have access to email?
  12. How did the thick twats not see that coming ? Jesus. EDIT: With regards to the Athletic piece.
  13. What he's saying is good but what the fuck is going on with the editing (?) on the video and the chopping and changing, seemingly zooming in and out all the time. Made it unwatchable for me. Had to close my eyes and pretend it was a podcast. Pretty common with YouTueb vloggers. Annoys the hell out of me but 95% of the videos I watch are the same. Really? I'm well out of that world then. Would drive me crazy watching too much of that.

  15. Do you enjoy living in the metropolitan city of Sports Direct ?
